Kyle Larson won for the second time on a road course this season proving he can win at any track. Chase Elliott came from a last place start after his car failed pre race inspection to finish 2nd, given another lap or two he probably would have won the race. His driving in that last stage was incredible. Former Watkins Glen winner Brad Keselowski had a bad race with brake issues that caused him to spin out numerous times. Top 10 1 Kyle Larson 2 Chase Elliott 3 Martin Truex Jr 4 Kyle Busch 5 Denny Hamlin 6 William Byron 7 Christopher Bell 8 Kevin Harvick 9 Chase Briscoe 10 Tyler Reddick It's interesting once again Matt Dibenedetto finished ahead of all the other Penske teammate's yet he's the one losing his ride for next season . In other motor racing news the Indycar Music City Grand Prix might be a one and done deal. 40% of the race was run under caution or red flagged. If they do this race again next year the course should be changed, some parts of the course were way to narrow. Jimmie Johnson had a controversial DQ during a red flag. Although his team didn't work on the car they still touched it so Indycar officials DQ'd and parked him for the remainder of the race. Marcus Ericsson won the race by getting the lead during one period of the race that had caution after caution after caution etc.... Shocking considering he literally drove over another car on lap 4 restart.

Talks are still going on to bring at least one Nascar series race to Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway by 2023 https://www.jayski.com/2021/08/04/earliest-nascar-could-race-at-nashville-fairgrounds-is-2023/ This is still an uphill battle, the NIMBY's are fighting tooth and nail to get the track shutdown permanently even though they moved there knowing the track was there already . Rumor is Aric Almirola is staying in the #10 at SHR for 2022 season. He is so far the only SHR driver locked in with a win to the Chase or Playoffs or whatever they're calling it this year.

It's been a long week and it's only Thursday. Last night I got a call from one of my mowing clients and was told she's got cancer. Hopefully her kids will step up and at least one of them come up here for a long visit to help her. I don't know what's going on with my dad but it's driving me nuts. He refuses to drive his car and doesn't want to come out of the house. Me and my wife think he might have road raged the wrong person last week and they scared the out of him. Lately he picked up a bad habit of making his hand look like a gun and pointing it at driver's that piss him off. Last week he called me and was talking so fast I couldn't understand him. Then he texted he needed some groceries and made up a story about his car not running right. I and my uncle checked his car out and there's nothing wrong with it. Then he said his arm hurts so my uncle tried taking him to a nearby urgent care but my uncle could only get him to go to a pharmacy to do a blood pressure test. Then he needed some groceries yesterday and my uncle told him to just walk up to the Krogers at the corner but apparently now his leg hurts but yet he wants to got for a walk in the park today in my car of course, not his.

I prefer a naturally aspirated motor for longer reliability and since the Bronco is made to go way off-road it'd be easier to rig a fix together than it would with a turbo if something mechanical goes wrong on the trail.

Ross Chastain to drive the 2nd car for Trackhouse Racing in 2022 https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2021/08/03/ross-chastain-to-drive-for-trackhouse-racing-in-2022/

I scored a bit of gold at a garage sale over the weekend, a Nascar collectible car signed by the King, Richard Petty. It was in a box with other 1:18 and 1:24 scale muscle cars. It didn't have a price on it so I made an offer of $10 for that car and the lady said ok. When I got home I took the car out of the box and seen Petty's signature and my mouth fell on the floor. My wife did a Google search which brought up a current ebay listing for the same car but unsigned going for $140.

Looks like the door numbers are moving forward next season https://www.jayski.com/2021/08/02/nascar-possibly-moving-car-numbers-forward/ Rumor is RickWareRacing might scale back to a stronger two car team for 2022, if that's the case he could stand to make some money selling or leasing one or two of his charters. I know the team is going to lose the RPM charter they're currently leasing. Racing is back at Watkins Glen is this weekend, since the Olympics are still going on you'll have to check your local listings to see which channel the races are on. On a side note Indycar is racing on the streets of Nashville Tennessee this weekend. Hopefully it's a good race.

I like the new Bronco, the faux suv Bronco Sport not so much. I just wish the Bronco had a non turbo motor.

Found out something new about the wife's car yesterday. Apparently there were two suspension options for it, softer suspension for more of a luxury ride and a sporty suspension. Hers has the luxury ride suspension. I took the car yesterday morning to get the rear springs replaced since the right rear one is broken but the auto parts store shipped the sporty springs to the mechanic. Hopefully they ship out the right springs this time, just sucks that we have to wait another week for them to get in. Almost didn't make it there yesterday morning. Some crazy old man was doing 50mph in a 65mph zone on the interstate and decided he needed to get off at the next exit. It was bad enough that this was also where I475 & I75 merge together and he was already in the far left lane. I moved over when I got a break between traffic. He just, uncaring for the speed everyone else was doing, moved on over. The semi on the left of me had to slam on the brakes to avoid running into the back of him then the nut comes over in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes and prayed the semi truck driver behind me was paying attention, thank God he was. And this crazy old fart was driving a tin can death trap Chevy Aveo. In a car like that I wouldn't be taking chances with my life like that. I told my wife about it and she said that same nut almost caused a huge accident a few weeks ago on I475 riding in the fast lane at 50mph. Tuesday while heading home I seen a pile of free things set out after a weekend garage sale, scored a his and hers cross country ski's set, even included the ski carrier for the roof of a car. I usually don't stop at those piles as they're usually just junk but seen the ski's so I doubled back and I'm glad I did. Ski's just need some new boot holder things but other than that they're in great shape, no breaks or cracks.

Word out of Detroit is the next Camaro will be a 4 door electric sedan possible crossover like Ford did with the Mustang. Rumors say the last year for the current Camaro is 2023. With Malibu production ending in 2022 this will leave Chevy without a ICE car in 2024 to use for Nascar unless Nascar changes it's rules.

New phone is definitely an upgrade from my old one. This one is so much faster, hd videos don't stutter and load at the snap of a finger. Battery lasts a lot longer too, my old one I had to charge every other day, this one just once since Thursday. The new OS is going to take some getting used to though. We're having one of the wettest July's on record, already double our usual rainfall. I'm not complaining though except when it comes to mosquitos.

Official: Brad Keselowski buys minority stake in Roush Fenway Racing and will also drive the #6 https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2021/07/20/brad-keselowski-jack-roush-roush-announcement/. This of course leaves Ryan Newman without a ride for 2022 though RFR has offered him a part time ride if he's interested. The New Hampshire race was one of the least watched of the season so far with only 2.1 million viewers tuning in https://www.jayski.com/2021/07/20/new-hampshire-tv-ratings-3/. Rumor mill: Richard Petty Motorsports is mulling selling one or both of it's charters. RWR is leasing one for the #51 this season. If RPM sells both of it's charters the #43 team will most likely fold and sell off the assets.

Ring notification woke us up last night, apparently police were looking for someone last night and they set off our Ring doorbell camera when they were checking around our building. Took me and the wife about an hour or so to get back to sleep. I usually turn the ringer off when we go to bed but forgot to last night. I watched this episode of The Orville the other day called Majority Rule that mirrored our current Social Media problem even though it was made in 2017. Even though the show is basically a Star Trek The Next Generation spoof that episode was very interesting to watch considering everything that happened in 2020.

Aric Almirola won the shortened Foxwoods Resort Casino 301. Nascar execs at the track decided to start the race even though it started raining in turns 1 & 2, by the 8th lap it got so bad that the Joe Gibbs drivers spun out with race leader Kyle Busch getting the most damage, he subsequently took his frustrations out on the pace car before retiring to the garage. Nascar execs made another great call before restarting the race by penalizing Joey Logano 2 laps after he reported to his crew that his throttle was stuck and a crewman reached under the hood to see what the problem was and removed the obstruction from the linkage to the throttle body, you'd think that being a safety issue that he wouldn't have been penalized. Penske Racing dominated after the rain delay restart with Ryan Blaney winning the first stage and Brad Keselowski winning the 2nd stage. Aric Almirola's car came in on the long runs in the last stage. Top 10 1. Aric Almirola 2. Christopher Bell 3. Brad Keselowski 4. Joey Logano 5. Ryan Blaney 6. Kevin Harvick 7. Kyle Larson 8. Ross Chastain 9. Alex Bowman 10. Denny Hamlin

If you watched it Saturday night you seen shades of the old Awesome Bill from Dawsonville. They put Bill Elliot and Chase Elliot on the first row for the first heat and Bill took advantage of it and lead all but one lap. Helio Castroneves dominated the second Heat race. He's really getting the hang of full body race cars during this series, would be interesting to see what he could do in a Nascar Cup car. The Main Feature Race was once again a race between the Elliot's. Awesome Bill lead most of the laps but pushed too hard in a turn on a restart and fell back to 5th but managed to get back to 3rd. Bobby Labonte also had a good night finishing 3rd, 4th and 4th. Tony Stewart won the series Championship. Main Feature Race Results 1 Chase Elliot 2 Tony Stewart 3 Bill Elliot 4 Bobby Labonte 5 Paul Tracy 6 Ernie Francis Jr 7 Michael Waltrip 8 Tony Kanaan 9 Helio Castroneves 10 Hailie Deegan 11 Marco Andretti 12 Willy T Ribbs

Friday we dropped the wife's car off to the new mechanic's. Turns out the RR spring is broke at the bottom perch or whatever you call it. Due to the part shortage we have to wait a week or so for a new set of springs. They were nice guys. We found out the tire place the tires were purchased from never sealed the RR tire either like they said they did. They took the tire off the rim, sanded the bead on the rim and added sealant to the tire. Wife got new front brakes and rotors put on there too. We went shopping while they finished doing the brakes, I got a new phone, looking forward to trying it out when I get all the stuff on this one backed up today. This one just has a quad core processor, new one has an octa core processor. Also my luck with finding clearance deals was still going strong, got a new Levi Sherpa lined jean jacket 60% off and a neat Star Wars shirt 75% off. Wife said she's dragging me shopping with her so my good deal luck nets her some good deals . Saturday while mowing I witnessed an accident right in front of the house I was mowing. Teenager was on his phone instead of paying attention to driving, ran into the back of a car that was slowing down in front of him. I called 911 and reported it then went back to mowing. After I got done I waited half an hour but the police didn't show up yet so I went home. I called the lady I mowed for after I ate dinner and she said the cops still haven't shown up. They must have not needed my statement for the accident as they never called me. That pretty much sums up my weekend, yesterday we relaxed after our morning cleaning gig and took a nap. Roger what was the medieval festival like? I never went to the one across the border in Michigan before but I've been thinking about checking it out this year.

Official Brad Keselowski leaving Penske Racing https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2021/07/15/brad-keselowski-roger-penske-austin-cindric-team-penske-nascar-cup-series-2022/ Unfortunately matt Dibenedetto is out of a ride as Harrison Burton, son of Jeff Burton, will drive the #21 Wood Bros. car in 2022. https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2021/07/15/brad-keselowski-austin-cindric-harrison-burton-matt-dibenedetto-team-penske-wood-brothers-alliance-2022/ Matt Dibenedetto's thoughts on losing his ride https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2021/07/15/matt-dibenedetto-says-in-video-that-losing-ride-does-suck-but-says-he-will-win-in-cup/ Austin Cindric will be taking over the #2 https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2021/07/15/austin-cindric-to-drive-no-2-car-in-2022-harrison-burton-to-join-wood-brothers/ Really sucks that Matt is losing his ride but I doubt he'll be on the free market long as he has shown he has the talent. Just hope he can land in a good team.

Kyle Larson signs an extension with Hendrick Motorsports through 2023 https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2021/07/14/kyle-larson-signs-extension-with-hendrick-motorsports-through-2023/. Hendrick Motorsports is also working on extensions with Chase Elliot and William Byron.
