As an administrator of this board I try very hard to say howdy to all the new folks who join up, but somtimes I miss some folks. Doesn't mean you're not welcome. Please don't think that way! I for one definetly want Brits, Canadians and anybody else from any other country that's a Dukes fan to join in! So, my apologies for missing the chance before. Welcome to Hnet! Now....your Ford Cortina. That's a very kewl looking car and those have got to be the biggest damn exhaust pipes I've ever seen! Looking at your site here, stays straight back... I bet you make some good noise with that. =) ..... I stand corrected. Just saw the pic of your Volvo sedan with the 5 inch pipe. LOL Looking at more pics here, your favorite cars..... TRANS AM!! 'Nuff said. =)

Thanks for the titles that Knoxville and Scott were in recently, Cap'n. I've heard of those movies but haven't seen any of them. (I'm a fan of older movies, thus my lack of knowledge of newer movies. LOL)

Beautiful car, Tempest! =) Welcome to HNet! Ya know, the question of where the heck Tom was for the BBQ seems to be a closely guarded military secret. I'm guessing his schedule conflicted (isn't he doing Chicago right now?) so he probably couldn't get to the thing.....but you'd think there'd be some mention of him.

MaryAnne watched Alex carefully as he removed his gunbelt. The deputy was surprised by this move...very few outlaws had ever given up their guns so easily. MaryAnne was tough, but she was also a female, which most outlaws took as an invitation to make an easy escape. Those that tried that with her though, usually ended up on Boot Hill. Maybe this one knew it. Or sensed it. Or something. Whatever it was, MaryAnne accepted the guns and then reached into the nearest pocket of the blond man's long coat and removed another gun. With this gun in hand, she waved a hand for him to hand over the gun in the other pocket. He did. Relieved of his weapons, MaryAnne peered at him curiously. "Ain't had many folks give up their shooting irons so easily. Either you're innocent, Alex Jackson, or you've heard rumors about me that you don't care to find out if they're true or not..." (Cue Alex!)

Temporary delay in Newsletter extra, stay tuned.

*turns to the audience, with a hand covering side of face* And to think he gets a good giggle out of the times when I've tripped a cord around here and accidentally pulled a plug 'r something and shut the lights out. -
At the risk of sounding like a complete moron.....who the hell are Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott??? Brother Burt as Boss Hogg.....now THERE'S something to consider! =)

The whole time Alex had been studying MaryAnne, MaryAnne had been watching him, waiting for him to make the wrong twitch and try to go for his gun. But he didn't. And when his posture relaxed, MaryAnne was only put on more alert. It's a trick....he's trying to appear casual and then get the drop on ya.... "Yeah, that's pretty much likely," MaryAnne said in reply to his statement. "Of course, if you lie to me I may just have to shoot you." (Cue Alex! Sorry for delay y'all)

I would be interested in seeing it becasue I'm the proud owner of a 1986 Firebird. Oddly enough it's similar to yours RJ, 2.8 V6 with a 5-speed manual trans. It's black (always has been far as I know), grey interior, has T-tops, slightly oversized tires, red pinstripe down the side. Known affectinately as "Maverick." I've had it for 5 years and I can recall one time not long after I got it, one of the customers at the bank I work at, saw the car in the parking lot and was checking it all over. Then he comes in and says "Looks like KITT!" LOL. I have some pics, I'll post one later. I don't have on this computer that I'm on right now.

Hey Dee, I'm not aware of any episodes transcripts existing (I have seen some copies of shooting scripts on eBay but only about 8 or 10 episodes.) Anyway, if you have any general, all puns intended LOL, questions about the show in terms of characters/relations/plots/past history/storylines ect. I know somebody here will have an answer. Some of us are certified DOH historians. LOL. MaryAnne

Hey... hey.... I know who that is! It's Hilery! Khee!

"Oh, I see...." MaryAnne nodded. "Well, I can tell you that the road that way leads to the town of Hazzard, and in this direction it'll take ya to Atlanta, eventually. And back in the direction you just came from there's a rickty old barn that I saw these three horses in earlier and that I saw you come and collect. Call me suspicious but...it seems a little strange that three very healthy looking horses would be left in an abandonded barn when it's obvious they're in the kind of condition that would fetch top dollar from somebody." MaryAnne leaned forward in the saddle. "Legitamately or otherwise." She paused, studying the stranger's face. She wasn't sure what it was that was making him look so startled. The fact that he'd come face to face with the law, or face to face with a woman wearing a badge, which was rare all things considered. Or maybe her suspicions were right and the horses were stolen and he was trying to figure how to talk his way out of the situation. Whatever it was, MaryAnne kept a cool gaze upon the stranger. "What's your name, stranger and where'd you get the horses?" (cue Alex!)
-
MaryAnne gave a nod back to the blond stranger. "Howdy..." she said. She then looked at the three race horses behind Alex. "Fine looking horses you got there..." (Cue Alex!)

Once Alex started to ride away, MaryAnne got up and quickly gathered up her blanket and packroll. She affixed them back to Phoenix's saddle and then mounted the Appaloosa mare and then turned Phoenix around and negotiated the horse through the woods. They picked up a small trail and followed it until it reached the road Alex was on. MaryAnne brought Phoenix out onto the road and they stopped, waiting in the middle of it. Alex wouldn't see them until he came around the turn in the road.... (Cue Alex!)

(looks like our timeline is a little outta whack. Lesse if Alex and MaryAnne can catch up. LOL) **** Phoenix and MaryAnne both saw Alex clear the tree line with his horse and the other three in tow. MaryAnne didn't move immediately, not wanting to cause too much of a stir. She simply watched as Alex and the horses came up on to the road. She waited to see what direction they would go. (cue Alex)

BAHAHA!! Looks like ol' Herbie the Love Bug has some competition. ROFL. I've seen worse. I saw somewhere on the internet a picture of a Yugo painted like the General Lee. Ya wanna talk about bad? LOL.

Several minutes went by. Fifteen....twenty. MaryAnne dug her pocket watch out of her brown suede vest and opened it. It would be just a couple of hours until dark. Given that the blond stranger had not come back out of the brush, alone or with the other three horses, MaryAnne concluded he was waiting for darkness before moving, one way or the other. She closed the pocket watch. She had time and she too would wait. "I don't think he wants to come out yet. Make yourself comfortable, Phoenix, we're gonna wait for 'em." Phoenix softly snorted in reply and she adjusted her stance, relaxing a little. MaryAnne dismounted and took her pack roll and blanket from the saddle, placing them down on the ground near the tree. The young deputy sat down, leaning her back against the tree and keeping an eye on the opening of the trail that led to where Alex was biding his time. (cue anyone!)

The blond drifter had been more concerened about who might have been following him than he was about who might already be there watching him. Across the dirt road, opposite the trees and brush Alex had directed his horse into, a rider sat a top an Appaloosa horse, hidden behind some trees and brush of their own. Deputy MaryAnne Coltrane and her horse, Phoenix, had heard the sounds of distressed whinnying coming from the woods as they were riding back to town. The young deputy sheriff had investigated, found the three very healthy looking horses and came to her own conclusions. When she had mounted her horse to ride back to town to tell the Sheriff, she looked in time to see the distant dust of an approaching rider and got her and her horse out of sight before the arrival. There had been no mistaking with the amount of dust and the sound of the hoof beats that somebody was in a hell of a hurry. MaryAnne didn't recognize the other rider when he arrived but knew by the way he was looking around that he was making sure he was alone. MaryAnne pushed her brown stetson hat back on her head and contemplated what she saw. "I think Phoenix, we have something...." The Appaloosa's ears twitched back and forth in response and the horse remained steadfast. They would wait, Phoenix knew. They would wait...

"Boss eats at the Boar's Nest because his wife Lulu is a lousy cook. You can tell a lot about a man by what he eats for breakfast in the mornin'. Boss usually has coffee an' raawww liver......well, at least he don't dunk it."
-
One of the most vivid scenes I can recall is in the episode "Goodbye General Lee" when Boss has that huge pan of bbq'd chicken wings and legs. Good thing that man didn't own a KFC franchise!!

For the Columbia House videos they did the first season pretty well in order but omitted Daisy's Song. After that, they did some of the second season and then basically did episodes at random, but they would be episodes that ran together, if you know what I mean. The episodes weren't released in order but the two eps you got on the tape would be in kinda in order, if that makes any sense. LOL. Anyway, one thing they did do which I found interesting was they put The New Dukes and Welcome Back Bo 'n Luke on the same tape. You figure that one out. ROFL. The DVD is definetly a better buy. Thirteen episodes for 30 bucks... Columbia House tapes are $23.94 each and you get two eppy's. You do the math. LOL. Still tho', I watch the tapes, because the episodes aren't on DVD yet. So not all is lost. Yet. LOL.
-
Now that I think about it, I almost think that "Ghost of General Lee" was never released as part of the Columbia House set. Have to check my tapes again but I'm sure it wasn't because that's one of those episodes I've always wondered about what TNN cut for scenes. So if the 2nd season DVD comes out in November I've got a really good reason to buy it. =)

Having absolutly nothing to do to Hazzard....
MaryAnne replied to pendragon1980's topic in General Discussion
Best of luck to you Doc! Remember when things get too crazy and you need to come somewhere that's peaceful and tranquil, we're always here. Oh. Wait a minute, I think I got that backwards.... KHEE! -
MaryAnne found the set of payphones just outside the main entrance to the hospital. She dialed the courthouse but after several unanswered rings she hung up the receiver. She then headed for the parking lot, figuring to try to raise Rosco on the CB. Suddenly she heard the screeching of tires and the roar of an engine. She looked up and in the outside neon lights of the parking lot she saw a long black Chevy come to a tire yelping stop. She figured it was Brian, but was surprised to see the blue uniform shirt of Rosco as the Sheriff jumped out of the car. "MaryAnne..." he said quickly as he came up to her. "We've got trouble. Fargo and Anderson grabbed Brian. I think they're going to try to get him to lead them to where Riddick is or use him for a swap." "Aw terrific," MaryAnne muttered, shaking her head. "And with the way things are right now, we may end up not having anything for Brian to lead them to, or to swap." Rosco paused. "Do they think Riddick'll make it?" "Well...the surgeon that worked on him put his chances at about 25%. Chance is up there now trying--trying to increase those odds." MaryAnne looked at her cousin. "Rosco, whether or not Riddick lives or dies, we're going to have to move fast to figure away to get Brian away from them two dudes. Assuming they want him to lead them to Riddick, Brian can probably stall for a little while but I have a feeling that at some point they might determine Brian to be useless to them, and when they do...they'll dispatch him and find somebody else to take his place." Rosco let out a heavy sigh and pushed his black Stetson back further on his head. "That could be anybody in the county..." MaryAnne nodded grimly. "Also, if Riddick dies, I don't think Fargo and Anderson are the types to hang around and await judgement. Even if we provided proof of Riddick's death, they may decide they don't want any witnessess left behind." Rosco sighed again. "You got anymore drops of sunshine you wanna lay on me?" MaryAnne paused, thinking about it. She looked at Rosco again and shook her head. "No," she said a bit sarcastically,. "I don't." "Good. Now, got any ideas of how we're gonna git Brian back?" MaryAnne looked at her cousin, grimly. "Very carefully..."
