  1. You're not that lucky, Roger. Unfortunately, my HNet promotion has come during a busy time at work. I'll try to get up to speed as soon as possible.
  2. Great (as in "Great Scott!") We discussed it in The International Thread (which you started, Roger!).
  3. No, Roger, I won't be expecting that. Now, what did MeadowMufn say this "Delete User" button was for?
  4. Fool
  5. Remember this from the end of January? I ended up getting cast in quite an iconic role from a popular Irish movie that I'd never seen before. We did the filming a couple of weeks ago in the middle of a snow storm, and then left it in the hands of what must be a very skilled editor. The awards night was held last night, which gave me chance to dress up for the evening. Our little movie was voted best picture by the audience (amongst some strong competition), so I'm going to have to get used to having my picture taken .
  6. And only $225 for shipping. What a bargain! Thanks for letting us know, Wakko.
  7. I'm sure everyone knows that today is St. Patrick's Day, so I went to see the local parade this afternoon. Last year, the parade clashed with an important Ireland rugby match, so numbers were down, but this year there was a good crowd until a rain shower about 10 minutes before the end. I thought Roger would like this tractor from near the back of the procession. As far as I can tell, it's from around 1950, and the company that made it is still in business in Boston (that's Boston, Lincolnshire, England - the place that Boston, Massachusetts is named after). It also reminded me of the time that the Dukes painted the General green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. OK, that wasn't the real reason (it was in 'Southern Comfurts' to save y'all searching), but the Dukes did visit Ireland in the animated episode 'Boss O'Hogg and the Little People'.
  8. I looked on a popular auction site, and there are plenty of copies for sale. With the book, they seem to be going for between $10 and $50.
  9. Roger, I'm guessing that this is the LP set that you've inherited. I found it advertised in the July 4th, 1969 issue of LIFE Magazine. Sadly, I have a record player, but not the records.
  10. OK, I know I'm stretching the theme of the thread slightly, but I was doing an online cryptic crossword earlier when I came across this clue: "Illicit booze distilled by night light (9)" Not much of a challenge for a Dukes fan! Answer below if you're stuck:
  11. I hope it's not too expensive or there'll be something broke behind the wheel as well!
  12. I've just seen that Jan-Michael Vincent has died at the age of 74. He apparently died nearly a month ago, but the news is only just being released now. I'm sure that fellow '80s TV fans will remember him best as Stringfellow Hawke in 'Airwolf', but I've gone for a picture of him with Burt Reynolds and Jimmie Best from 'Hooper'.
  13. One of the satellite channels over here was showing the 2005 movie again at the weekend. It seems to come around about once a month, and I always get excited seeing "Dukes of Hazzard" in the listings, before I realize that it's not the TV series. I have the movie on DVD (it cost me €0.25 (currently $0.28) second hand!), and I don't think I've used it for more than screengrabs. I tried watching it through again, but gave up.
  14. I knew this anniversary was coming up, but had a busy weekend and forgot. I could've sworn I'd posted the listing below already on HNet, but couldn't find it. It's from British TV guide the Radio Times, and shows details of the debut of 'One Armed Bandits' (NB. I've rearranged the original layout to make it more screen-friendly). I've just noticed that they misspelled Gy's names as Guy near the bottom.
  15. chips (the kind we have over here!)
  16. Jumping frog (see the video below for my explanation )
  17. Morgan Woodward also appeared as Dempsey in 'Mason Dixon's Girls'. The story of his death is covered on many sites - I randomly picked MSN.
  18. surfin'
  19. inches
  20. The new series of 'Top Gear' premiered tonight, and this week's studio guest, actor James Marsden, sang "Just the good ol' boys" and mentioned the Duke Boys while doing his lap of the track. The show's only just finished, so nothing's made it to YouTube yet, but I'll post anything I find.
  21. Robinson
  22. Does this mean that the Dukes invented "Orange Is the New Black"?
  23. Did you see that the taillights are now the exhausts?
  24. I missed this story at the end of last year, but luckily it was mentioned on the new series of 'The Grand Tour'. Here's a '68 Dodge Charger fitted with the 426 Hemi Hellephant crate motor similar to the one found in the Hellcat. As well as the 1,000-hp engine, there's a six-speed manual transmission, six-piston Brembo brakes and Hellcat wheels measuring 20 inches in front and 21 inches in back. More info here. There are several videos about the car, including this one:
  25. School I've never taken the test, but I doubt I'd pass it anyway
