Incidentally, there were a few variations I could have used: Cooter Davenport can also be 'Vetoed Porn Actor', The Boars Nest can also be 'Breathes Snot' or 'Stoners Bathe' and Rhuebottoms can also be 'Stout Hombre'.

This character only appeared in one episode, but is prominently named. I stand corrected , although Mud Freak = Duke Farm, so it still works. I didn't expect these to be solved so quickly - I'll have to work on some more, unless anyone else has some to post.

I doff my hat to thee, BoJames - well done. Now there's just the Dukes characters and places to solve.

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
HossC replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
Sorry Roger, I've had a few late nights on HNet this week, and was asleep long before you logged in yesterday. To answer your question, no, it wasn't in the shaving cream, although Uncle Jesse's shaving cream can would be a great hiding place - I bet it hasn't been touched for years:). The hiding place wasn't as clever as that. Think more about going to a movie. When they got inside J.J. Carver's estate the camera got hidden in the kitchen roll in the RV, but I'm looking for how they got it past the guards. If you don't get it this time I'll give one more clue before posting the answer. -
You gave me a good chuckle before breakfast with this one. Well done Jami Lee - that's another ticked off. There's still 2 relatives of Cooter to find (and 2 others). Anyone started on the new ones posted a couple of days ago?. I thought Meadowmufn might have got at least half of them by now.

The Torino gets mentioned in David Soul's 2003 appearance on Top Gear. I remember hearing somewhere that the original Torino had bench seats which had to be swapped for bucket seats as Paul and David were always sliding into each other when filming chases.

I'm sorry this is off topic, but when I read this thread it reminded me of this recent sketch from the BBC series 'That Mitchell and Webb Look'. It nicely illustrates the problem of being remembered for one thing for the rest of your life. Hope you enjoy it.

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread

It's nice to see I stumped the 'Quizmaster' with my first question:lol:. -
I can't see any mention of this shootout on HazzardNet, so I thought I'd post it even though it's about 3 years old. UK TV show Fifth Gear is kind of a poor relation to BBC's Top Gear (some of the presenters used to be on Top Gear before they changed the format). Back in 2007 they decided to race General Lee against Starsky and Hutch's Gran Torino (spelt 'Grand Torino' in the title). The driver is presenter Vicki Butler-Henderson who holds both car and powerboat racing licenses.

Great work BoJames - there's still another of your cousins to get.

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
HossC replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
OK y'all, Roger has suggested I ask a few questions. After all, he's asked the majority of the questions over the last 3 years, and wants a chance to guess himself. He's been so prolific that I wonder how he's held down his day job (even pulling double shifts at times). I've just spent the last 3 nights reading the 2,318 posts in this thread to try to avoid duplication. I promise I won't be asking about the date of Sadie Hogg Day or the punchline to the casket joke - both have been asked 4 or 5 times already:). As time goes on I may borrow questions from my Trivia Crosswords, but we'll start with some originals. Here's #1: Q. In 'Undercover Dukes', how did Bo and Luke smuggle the miniture camera past the guards at J.J. Carver's estate? -
Before I start, I'll tell you - I'm a PC user. If this doesn't work, and no-one else can help, let me know - I'll ask a guy at work tomorrow who has a MacBook. If you're just after a static background/wallpaper, then any JPG should do (good resolution, obviously). Here's a tutorial video I found - skip the first 30 seconds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgIEgZgyJGg If I misunderstood your problem then let me know.

I think it is the same truck. The link I posted had it on the Bandit Run '09 with the commemorative Jerry Reed artwork inside the back doors. I know it's the wrong thread, but another group of enthusiasts have recreated Rubber Duck's Mack and trailer from Convoy (I can't remember now, but I think the trailer they have may have been one of the ones used for filming). There's also pictures on a Japanese website from a guy who built a fully working 1:14 radio controlled model of RD's truck - it even has working lights. Is it just me, or do you think both the Trans-Am and Snowman's truck were better in the first film. I never liked the '80 Trans-Am as much as the '77, and the truck looked right in matching black and gold.

Bridgestone have supplied F1 tires for the last few years, but it will be Pirelli next year. To save money, teams are now limited to a certain number of sets of tires per race weekend, which have to be used for practice, qualifying and racing. Unlike NASCAR, F1 continues in the rain, with slick tires giving way to 'intermediate' and 'wet' (sometimes called 'monsoon') grooved tires. Watching pit strategy when a shower occurs mid-race makes for very exciting viewing. Of course F1 has covered pit garages that open onto the pit lane. Re: cars looking different. Go back 10, maybe 15 years and F1 cars looked quite similar to those of IndyCar. Since then they seem to have gone in very different directions.

Well y'all, bidding has just finished. After spending the last 5 days at $500, a flurry of last-minute bids saw it go for the 'bargain' price of $1025. Before you ask, it wasn't me who bought it. Bidders had to be in the US, besides which I was about $1000 short:).

Clue: I've omitted the number from the end of this member's name. Your other title could be 'A nylon ant creamer' or maybe you 'Ran anomaly center'.
-
Shame you can't remember where you traced the patrol car from - it looks quite detailed.

Welcome SouthDakotaDukeboy - sounds like you'll fit right in.

Funnily enough, no. I like the tracks that challenge the drivers, and make them take risks to overtake. F1 can have some comparatively slow corners, and while NASCAR probably has higher top speeds, F1 cars would accelerate and brake quicker. They generate enough downforce that, theoretically, they could be driven upside-down and stay on the ceiling. There's similar pit lane speeding penalties in F1. Restarts are slightly different as they are single file. In F1 there are 2 different hardness tires supplied for each race (out of a total of 4 hardnesses altogether). Each car has to use at least 1 set of each during the race (unless it's a wet race) so there has to be at least one pit stop. They changed the rules this year to ban refuelling during the race, so these guys can now change a set of tires in about 3.5 seconds.
-
Yep - they're both there. Meadowmufn got another 3, so that still leaves 9 to get.

F1 is quite international, although there's an increasing number of Germans at the moment. There's only 2 Brits in contention, so I'm happy for either of them to win. One is last year's champion, the other was champion the year before, and they're in the same team for the first time this year. Having said that, it's very close this year between the top teams. Back to NASCAR, I heard the commentator mention there were 2 road courses, thanks for filling in the other one. Although the motorsport I watch is all on this type of circuit, the NASCAR on ovals that I've seen before was much closer. Which type of track do you prefer, and how much do the ovals vary?. I know that, despite the name, the shape changes from track to track. If an F1 car stops on the circuit (breakdown or accident), and there aren't any shards of carbon fiber or other debris across the track, this occurrence is normally handled with waved yellow flags where the drivers only have to slow down through that section of the track, and they can't overtake. Safety (pace) cars are only used for bad crashes, mainly to allow the marshals to clear the track safely. Does NASCAR do this, or do they just throw a full course caution and/or send out the pace car?. I only got to see the highlights, so this part of the race is usually cut (even when I've seen whole races they tend to go to a commercial break).

Well done - I was hoping people would post when they found themselves (or each other). I didn't have many choices for you - all these dang Dukes with Ks in them:) - I didn't even attempt any members with 'Hazzard' in their name.
