  1. Get well soon Roger. Hopefully you'll be back to your normal state of confusion before long .
  2. Back to the stores in the square now. Building #9 spent over six seasons as the 'Hazzard Telephone Co.' (or similarly named businesses). Maybe everything's automated by Reunion, because Hazzard gets the 'Town Square Beauty Parlor' in its place. Is it just me who thinks the woman at the back looks like Shelley Long when she was in 'Cheers'?. Building #10's fascia has been completely remodeled for Reunion. In the past it's been businesses like 'Seth M. Berley & Co.', but now it has a stone frontage with lamps either side of the entrance. The overall design and sign over the door makes me think it's probably a firm of lawyers, but it plays no part in the movie. This is the clearest shot of the sign that I could get - it's called something like 'Titcher Titcher & Wilson'. I checked to see if it was named after anyone in the crew, but nothing looked similar - if you have a better guess, please post it. Neither Miz Tisdale or the post office appear in Reunion. Nedra Volz's last acting credit was the year before (she seemed to be getting typecast; three of her last roles were credited as 'Old Lady', 'Old Lady' and 'Very Old Woman'). Reunion was Denver Pyle's last acting credit - it would have been nice if Nedra Volz had joined him for a last romance. The post Office got briefly replaced (by a coffee shop) in the season 7. Now it seems to be an antiques shop. The long shots show a gold and green sign above the window (see right side of picture above), but it's never shown close enough to read. The last store on this block is building #12. For the last few seasons it was 'Joe's Hardware' and more recently 'Hazzard Hardware and Sporting Goods'. Now it's 'Hazzard Dry Goods' which claims to have been in business since 1906. I wonder where it was located during seven seasons of the TV show (those of you who've followed this thread since the start will remember that a dry goods store did make a single appearance in this location for the episode 'Route 7-11'). Keen-eyed readers will notice that since the end of season 7 the entrance door has been pushed out to be flush with the windows.

  6. I've decided to dedicate this post to one building, because sadly it's no longer standing. In Reunion it was used as the Hazzard Cotton Mill where Daisy is held after she's kidnapped. If you thought the windows in the last picture looked familiar it's because it's the same building that was seen next to the Boar's Nest above (I told y'all to remember it!). If you look really closely at the right of the building you can just see the black and white pillars at the front. This is the scene where Luke fires the rope across from the tree. The building was the Courthouse in the old Laramie Street set that we've seen a couple of times before (Mufn mentioned its use a while back). A small view of Laramie Street can be seen in the background of this shot while the guards are shooting a bird. I found this site with a load of great pictures of Laramie Street just before it was torn down (the courthouse is the first one on the linked page - click the images to enlarge them). This shot is of the boys outside the cotton mill, unloading their trunk after rescuing Daisy. The small building in the background is the same one seen in the second Boar's Nest picture a few posts back (the night shot with Cooter's tow truck).
  7. I knew who MA was talking about - I'd just never heard him referred to with the same sobriquet normally reserved for Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter. Following on from MA's suggested NASCAR sponsors, maybe the Elvis Presley Estate could sponsor it: Then they could call it the "I'm All Shook Cup" .
  8. You folks have good memories - points all 'round. Tonight's question is a little more cryptic: Q. English conman Gaylord/Roger was the eponymous character in 'Duke of Duke', but who could be given the title 'Duke of Duke' in the Reunion movie?.
  9. So MaryAnne, which car does Voldemort drive?.
  10. If Cooter's was torn down, then Rhuebottom's must have been torn down too (it's definitely gone now). That left an opening for a general store in Hazzard. The new Hazzard General Store is in building #1. One thing I noticed about Reunion Hazzard is the number of independent businesses. I know Boss Hogg had passed away, but Rosco was meant to have taken over, yet neither of their names seem to appear on any stores. Building #3, which always served as Boss's bank, is now Mama Max's Development Corporation (this is the best shot I could get of the sign). The interior scenes were actually filmed inside building #3, as can be seen in this shot of Rosco leaving. The church is clearly visible in the background. We never get a good look at the outside, but the window signage says Real Estate.
  11. I've watched the last couple of races on Race Buddy, but this one was too late for me, so I watched the highlights tonight. I have to agree that Jeff Gordon did a good job to hold it together, but the drivers around also did a good job avoiding him. He was also lucky to be turned with the nose of his car facing the center of the track, unlike a couple of the earlier spins. If anyone hasn't seen the spin, you can see it here. The two crashes on the green-white-checker laps are here and here. That's two weeks in a row where there's going to be a lot of work for the bodyshop. I haven't seen Carl Edwards mentioned in the write-up here. He got some right rear damage from an early crash which caused his cabin to fill with exhaust gas that made him sick. A couple of pit stops sorted out the problem, but he was 25 laps down.
  12. I'm sorry these aren't in order, but I've got loads of pictures and I'm trying to identify the locations and group them into sets of four. It's not only the Boar's Nest that turns up in a completely different building. This is the new Duke farm. The trees disguise the location pretty well, and it took a bit of tracking down ... Luckily, pictures of houses from Gilmore Girls have helped me out once again. Apparently this is Lorelai's house, which turns out to be the back of what we know as Boss Hogg's house. If you look at the picture above you can still see some of what's left of the building that served as the 'Capitol City Distributing Co.' in 'Cooter's Confession'. This picture also shows that some of the left side of the house has also been remodeled since the Reunion movie. For most of the TV series the barber shop occupied building #4. For the movie the barber shop is in building #5. Building #6 looks like it has been occupied recently (see marks on window), but is now 'For Lease'. The original barber shop now just has the word 'Curios' across the windows. Sorry about the blurry nature of this photo - we only get to see it briefly during Daisy's abduction.
  13. Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  14. BL got that one - here's a picture to prove it: Q. Still on 'Go West, Young Dukes', Jeremiah, Joe, Hank, and Dixie Duke, as well as Jeeter Davenport, Thadius B. Hogg and Rufus Z. Coltrane all had couterparts in modern-day Hazzard. Jeremiah's wife Jenny wasn't a regular cast member but she did appear in modern-day Hazzard back in season 2 (not as a Duke). Who was she?.
  15. This is the garage of Red Perkins (Hazzard's second best mechanic until Cooter went to Congress, then he became number one). Regular readers of this thread will recognize it as building #25. Opposite the garage, French Street still looks much the same as it did at the end of season 7. It's clear that some of the stores at the other end of the street have signage, but they're too far away and too blurry to see what they are. I was hoping to get a look down the street to see what had happened to Cooter's garage, but we never get to see. I'm guessing it had been torn down by now because we don't get to see it at any time in the movie. During the seven seasons of the TV show the Boar's Nest moved locations a few times, but always looked pretty much the same (I'm only talking about the California episodes). In Reunion the Boar's Nest is a completely different building. These are the buildings seen to the left of the Boar's Nest as Cooter drives in with the General in tow. Take a look at the background buildings as I'll be returning to them in a few posts' time.
  16. I bought it a few months back, but haven't got 'round to reading it yet. I'll try to post a review when I do.
  17. I've just noticed that the decals on the doors of the patrol cars in the Reunion movie are different from those in the series. Throughout all seven seasons the 6-pointed sheriff's badges on the Hazzard cars had a pair of scales in the center, "County Sheriff" around them, and "Hazzard County" underneath. In the Reunion movie the design in the middle has changed, and the words "Hazzard County Sheriff" are around it (no text underneath) - see first picture below. The second picture is from the Roseville patrol car that was is 'New Deputy in Town'. The center logo is the same. The last picture is even more bizarre - despite bearing a striking resemblance to the Reunion decal, I actually spotted it in an episode of 'The Fall Guy'.
  18. I don't want to be greedy - I'd be quite happy if you did that one, CD. I couldn't finish this thread without including the TV movies. The Reunion movie starts out on W Potrero Road. Apart from Thornton Ranch Road having a better road surface, it still look roughly the same today. Check it out here on Google Street View. We soon find ourselves back in the square. At first glance it doesn't look much different, but look a little deeper and nearly all the businesses have changed. I'm not sure if this was to differentiate the movies from the TV show, or just that all the original signage had gone. Here's a scene setting shot that I've included for Roger - I thought he'd like the tractor!. The drug store in Hazzard (building #7) survived all seven seasons, but has now been replaced by the Hazzard Bakery. I'll post an interior picture later. Next door, the Hazzard Picture Palace has made way for Kelley's Coffee Shop.
  19. I know this thread's a bit old, but I've just noticed the General's odometer in the Reunion movie. You see it briefly when the General first gets back on the road and it reads 24819.1. Does this mean it's done about 93k miles since Carnival of Thrills, or has someone wound the clock back just over 7k miles?
  20. hot drink (a nice cup of tea for example )
  21. Jamie McMurray drives the #1 car, but his car's red (and there's no '0'). David Reutimann drives the '00' car, but it's not blue with flames up the front. There were at least two orange cars in last Sunday's race. Joey Logano and Robby Gordon even managed to hit each other at one point. The drivers seem to be from all over the US (and Australia and Colombia), but I know very little about their personalities/backgrounds. Maybe Garrett can nominate a redneck or two amongst them.
  22. Nice one Lizzy - you're right. Let's see how well you were watching that episode. Q. In 'Go West, Young Dukes' what was the name of the whiskey that was visible behind the bar?: A) Taos Lightning Coffin Varnish C) Tarantula Juice D) Wild Mare’s Milk E) Double Eagle F) Tanglefoot According to my research (5 minutes on Google). the others are genuine Old West whiskey names.
  23. I was a teenager in the 80s, so I can't claim there wasn't the odd fashion faux pas in my closet, but never a sweater like that (although I seem to remember having one with a shawl neck!). 'Opening Night at the Boar's Nest' means we must be at the end of season 7. Although Hazzard Square does feature in this episode, I didn't spot anything interesting or new. Instead we get a couple of new locations. This is said to be the state pen from which Floyd Malone is being released. I'm assuming that, like one of the previously used hospital shots, this is just stock footage. Despite a bit a seaching online I haven't been able to identify which facility this is - any ideas?. The water tower looks very like the one at Warner Bros' studios, but I can't see a prison anywhere near that. I did manage to identify the location of this next shot. The entrance to 'Bonner State Prison' isn't part of a set, but it is within Warner Bros' studios - see map below. I've arrowed the walkway where the previous shot was taken. The familiar stores of New York Street are visible at the bottom. Another mystery location here. By the coloring I'm sure it's also somewhere around the studios, but I can't tell where.
  24. In 'Enos and Daisy's Wedding' two hardened criminals plan to rob the bank, and then try to frame Enos. It seemed like a foolproof plan, except that they actually break into the drug store via the back door (opposite the barber shop). Fans of Hazzard's favorite decorating store, O'Connor Paint Supply, will be pleased to see that after a quick makeover, and one episode of absence, it's back in business. It's now got a brick frontage all the way to the top, and the awning has been removed. An unknown building now. The bad guys stay at the Capitol City Motel. The two storey design and number of doors suggest that this was probably filmed at a real motel. Each door has a sign with the initials CCM, possibly covering up the real identity. Does anyone know where this was filmed?. Considering that most brand names are hidden on Dukes I was slightly surprised to see 'AAA Rated' on the sign. Maybe it slipped through because Triple-A is a not-for-profit organization.
