  1. I'll start this post with the better picture of 'Victor's Bail Bonds' that I promised a while back. This is building #6. I think someone came through this door in one episode even though there is nothing behind the façade (some buildings like the bank and post office have interiors that can be used for filming - this one doesn't). This shot shows what is beyond the alley between buildings 12 and 13 (Bo is being chased by Hughie in 'Arrest Jesse Duke'). Car chases often appear/disappear here, but we don't get a clear look like this very often. Another unusual angle in the same alley here, this time looking out towards the church. I have inset the sign for the 'Hotchkiss Funeral Home' which is on the door just off the left of this shot. The wall on the left is the side of the hotel. Even though season 2 started out with a 'Hotel' sign on the front of this building, it was missing a couple of episodes later, only to reappear again in the next episode. When Bo, Luke and Daisy go to investigate who's behind 'Dixie Auto Supply Inc.' they enter the County Building through this side door. This is actually the spot marked #31 on the map, the same building that served as the door to the Impound Garage in 'The Ghost of General Lee' (see above) - they just did a good job re-dressing it.
  2. It looks like you're on your own here Roger. I added in Charlie Daniels just to tempt you, and you went for Mel . The correct answer was Merle Haggard. By a strange coincidence, if you watch the interview with John and Tom that I posted a link to in the Niagara Falls Concert thread last night, Merle is John's first choice for acts he would like to see caught in the 'Celebrity Speed Trap'. Q. In the same episode ('Jude Emery'), who were Elmer and Cleo?.

Hi geo, I hope you (and your grandson) enjoy being part of the HazzardNet family.
  4. Hallo Simon. Ich glaube, Sie sind unser erstes Mitglied in Dubai. (Ich kenne einige Deutsche, aber ich bin nicht sehr gut - ich Google mit diesen zu übersetzen) I think your English is better than my German, so let's continue in English - I just thought I'd welcome you in your native language. I hope you enjoy hanging around HazzardNet.
  5. Welcome to HazzardNet DukesLuvah. Sounds like you should be a great source of inside knowledge on Tom. Maybe you could even persuade him to stop by at HazzardNet between Broadway shows (Jimmie Best popped into the chat room at Christmas).
  6. How's this?: I see (or should that be hear?) the bit you mean. It's just after Rosco shouts "Get out of the way". That's certainly the only thing that appears on the subtitles. After listening to it a couple of times I'd say it's just gibberish that happens to sound like what you heard. I found that myself when I tried to post a link in the thread 'Manure . . . An Interesting Fact'. The page I was trying to link to had the same word in the URL. Still, HazzardNet is a family-friendly site, so no complaints.
  7. She's certainly a contender. As I mentioned last week in the Trivia thread, Mary-Margaret Humes is a former Miss Florida & 3rd runner-up to Miss USA 1975. I saw her in an episode of The Fall Guy a couple of week back. It was an episode called 'The Reluctant Traveling Companion' (S02E06) in which Colt has to bring her back from the East Coast by train (she won't fly), and they are traveling in a compartment next to Richard Burton who is trying to learn a script.
  8. Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  9. Eggman (goo goo g'joob (I am the Walrus - The Beatles)) You're right Roger, the females are cows and the males are bulls, just like whales.
  10. In 'Arrest Jesse Duke' the car strippers run 'Dixie Auto Supply Inc.' from building #1. This shot shows Bo, Luke and Daisy pulling up at the side of the store. This is the back entrance to the auto parts store. I'm pretty sure it's not at the back of building #1. The impound yard from season 1 (near building #24) had a corrugated steel fascia similar to this, so it may have been filmed there. The chase away from the auto parts store goes down the road past Boss's house. We don't ususally get to see this far down the road due to the sound stage at the end of it!.
  11. Just spotted this from 'Dukes Meet Cale Yarborough'. When we first see all 3 Generals come together the hood/fender mount for the camera is clearly visible at the bottom of the shot.
  12. Thanks DukesLuvah, I never thought to check YouTube. I think this is the video you are referring to: Bo & Luke Duke

    Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  14. I'd forgotten that one, but by a strange coincidence I watched that episode at the weekend. They didn't even try to over-dub her mouth saying something else.
  15. It's a good guess as the Dixie name was used several times, but the real answer is a bit more obscure. The name was 'Armstrong-Peterson Shock Absorber Co.'. Now to 'Jude Emery': Q. Which singer did Bo say Jude Emery sounded like when they first met?: A) Merle Haggard Waylon Jennings C) Charlie Daniels D) Johnny Cash E) Buck Owens F) Mel Tillis
  16. These types of continuity errors happen quite regularly, especially with car crashes/chases. I've highlighted a couple in other threads eg. in 'The Ghost of General Lee' Rosco crashes into the same white car twice during one chase. I've also mentioned a couple of geographical errors in the Hazzard Square thread. To be honest, I only really notice them when I'm looking for screengrabs. Also, it's not like Dukes is the only TV show/movie that's guilty of this; I've watched episodes of 'The A-Team' where a completely different van (even with round headlights) makes a jump and then they cut back to the regular one. Maybe the precedent for Dukes was set by 'Moonrunners' where the damage to Bobby Lee's car changes between shots .
  17. In 'Road Pirates' Bo and Luke visit Colonial City, however the loading bay is actually at the back of the church on Hazzard Square (marked #17 on the map). There is a wider view above in the post relating to 'Route 7-11'. The building in the background of the first picture is the same building that is in the background of the 'Road Closed' shot above. This loading bay gets used in a couple of other episodes that I'll show in the future. Now, from 'The Ghost of General Lee', another example of strange continuity when you know the layout of the square. I've set it like a storyboard to demonstrate: A. General Lee leaves the impound garage, now located in building #31 (that's buildings #1 and #2 opposite). B. As it exits it crashes into Rosco's car as if they've just left Cooter's (#22). C. Rosco hits a fire hydrant outside building #31 D. (A little later in the chase) A car reverses out from the impound garage. E. Rosco has to swerve to avoid the reversing car (note that the fire hydrant has gone, but the road is still wet from the previous stunt). F. Rosco crashes through the doors of the impound garage. G. Rosco exits the impound garage by crashing through the same doors (shot from a different angle and framed differently). H. Rosco crashes into the furniture store (#10) as if he was coming from the direction of the church.
  18. Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  19. Must be why Boss had to use the coffins from his coffin company to transport moonshine and used bank notes .
  20. None of these ladies (to my knowledge) have been in Playboy, although several Playboy models did guest-star in Dukes. Mary-Margaret Humes made her acting debut in Dukes and appeared in 3 episodes of 'The Fall Guy'. Shawn Weatherly made her acting debut in Dukes. Rhonda Shear appeared in one episode of 'The Fall Guy'. Roger had the correct answer, which was All represented their state in the Miss USA beauty pageant. Here are the states they represented: Jeannie Wilson was Miss Texas in the 1968 Miss USA Beauty Pageant. Mary-Margaret Humes was Miss Florida & 3rd runner-up to Miss USA 1975. Shawn Weatherly was Miss South Carolina 1980, Miss USA 1980, and Miss Universe 1980 Rhonda Shear was Miss Louisiana 1975. Q. In 'Route 7-11' what was the name of the shock absorber company that was on the side of the semi that Bo and Luke drove?.
  21. You've only got to wait another 2 weeks, then it's OK .
  22. One last picture from 'Gold Fever'. I got a better shot of the furniture store, and I think the name is 'McDermott's' (NB. I have tweaked the contrast and color balance to try to get it clearer). To the left, 'Julius Berg' has now become the more familiar 'Hazzard County Telephone Company' (I'll post a clearer picture later). Here's the closer shot of 'Fanny's Fabrics' (building #12) I promised in the last post. This is from 'The Meeting'. Also from 'The Meeting' is the General by a 'Road Closed' sign. This is taken between buildings #18 (the church) and #19. This shot shows the familar front of the 'Drug Store', although the 'Bus Stop' signs have disappeared. The 'Theatre' (UK spelling) has become the 'Hazzard Theater' (US spelling). In the background on the left is building #4 which has changed from the 'Poodle Parlor' in season 1 to the 'Barber Shop'. All of these are visible in the earlier episode 'Gold Fever', but only in the background. They all stay relatively the same throughout season 2, although a pay phone or phone booth is usually outside the theater (can be either side) and a blue sign is sometimes present on the wall between the drug store and the theater.
  23. Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  24. Welcome to HazzardNet Bobby. Seems like a lot of folks joining recently are not only fans themselves, but also have children who love the show. Hope you enjoy your stay here.
