According to a tweet from his son, Merle Haggard is just recovering from pneumonia. That's good news because, as Justin said, we've already lost too many musicians since Christmas. Lemmy, the frontman of Motörhead died at the end of December, and David Bowie and Glenn Frey passed in January. Just this week we've lost Colin Vearncombe, better known as Black, who had a hit with "Wonderful Life", and Paul Kantner, who was a co-founder of Jefferson Airplane. Outside of the music world, January 2016 has also seen the deaths of actors Alan Rickman and Dan Haggerty. It hasn't been the best start to a year.

You can get JS Torrent for your Chromebook, but it looks like it might cost you around $3. I don't know which version of Linux you're running, but there's probably a BitTorrent client available - just Google it! Obviously, you should only use these to download legal items like Ubuntu ISOs, and not illegal music and movies. You can often get the DVD for just over $10 on eBay - I recommend saving up .

If you take Cooter's character from the Georgia episodes, I could see him as a drummer in the style of Animal from The Muppets or Keith Moon from The Who . Maybe Uncle Jesse could join ZZ Top, although he'd had to grow his beard!

Farm I believe Old M(a)cDonald had one .

It also appears to be available on DVD from Amazon and eBay ($11-$15, Cooter's is $20). As far as I know, Moonrunners has never been officially released on DVD, and all the versions you can buy are likely to be VHS transfers, probably on DVD-R. There are dozens of listings on YouTube which claim to show the full movie, but they all seem to be plugging links to other sites, which I don't trust. I think I originally saw the movie on YouTube, so keep an eye out - a genuine copy may get reposted.

Hey, don't knock it. I made an apple, a kite, a dead rat, twelve marbles, part of a jews-harp, a piece of blue bottle-glass to look through, a spool cannon, a key that wouldn't unlock anything, a fragment of chalk, a glass stopper of a decanter, a tin soldier, a couple of tadpoles, six fire-crackers, a kitten with only one eye, a brass doorknob, a dog-collar -- but no dog -- the handle of a knife, four pieces of orange-peel, and a dilapidated old window sash out of that deal .

This thread has seen a couple of covers of this song posted previously, but now it's sadly time for the original. Desperado - The Eagles RIP. Glenn Lewis Frey (November 6, 1948 – January 18, 2016)

Thanks for updating us, Jason. I have to agree, the body looks much better now that it's all in one color. It's almost ready for Cale Yarborough . -
Today the news broke of the death of another Duke. This was the Thin White Duke aka David Bowie. He released his final album, Blackstar, last Friday, which was his 69th birthday. RIP David Robert Jones (8 January 1947 – 10 January 2016). Starman - David Bowie Fame - David Bowie

Thanks for updating us again, Lizzy. I did check the result, and was pleased to see Ricky Stenhouse Jr get a top 10 finish, but for me yesterday was all about the action in Texas. After rain prevented qualifying for the US Grand Prix on its usual Saturday slot, they managed a truncated session on Sunday morning, with the race in the afternoon. Lewis Hamilton started in second, but, despite claiming the lead at the first corner, slipped back to fourth as he struggled on the intermediate rain tires. As the race progressed, the track dried and the slick tires went on. First hindered and then helped by virtual and actual safety cars, Lewis worked his way back to second place behind his team mate Nico Rosberg. With less than 10 laps (of 56) to go, Nico made a mistake and Lewis took the lead, which he held to the checkered flag. With Lewis's nearest rival finishing third, the win was enough make him 2015 World Champion with three races still to go. He becomes only the second British driver to take three world titles, and the only British driver to take two of them back-to-back. He now has the same number as his hero, Ayrton Senna. In Formula 1, the only magnums they use to celebrate wins in Texas are filled with Champagne!

I couldn't really do a 2015 makeover of the Double Zero without also doing Amy Creavy's Mustang. I've left off some of the original's chrome parts because I think the all black color scheme looks better.

How time flies! I was going to start this post by saying that I recently posted a picture of an updated General Lee based on a stretched Dodge Challenger. It turns out I actually posted that in May 2014 - you can see it here. Then, completely by chance, I came across mock-ups of modern versions of the Double Zero and Cooter's Camaro at the weekend. You can see them here. Inspired by these pictures, I decided to do my own updated Double Zero based on a 2015 Mustang. I thought it looked better with less chrome than the original, although I did add a ring around the grille. I also toyed with additional fog lights in the grille (similar to the original), but eventually left them out.

Which CB radio was in the General Lee in the TV series?
HossC replied to Boss JD Hogg's topic in The General Lee
The Cobra 77x and 78x are quite similar to each other, but nothing like the one above. The 77x has an extra knob marked "DYNAMIKE", and the level meter on the left uses a different graphic. When I Googled Dukes of Hazzard CB radio, most of the results showed the 78x, and that's also the one that gets mentioned a couple of times on this forum. I don't have a screengrab to prove it, but I'll look out for one. Here are the models in question. -
A while ago, Mark B asked me if I'd ever done a front and back view of Cooter's van from 'Uncle Boss'. At the time I hadn't, but now I have . There are still very few reference photos available, so I just had to do my best from screengrabs. I've also tweaked the original side view to fix some minor details.

Thanks for the review, Lizzy. I actually got to see most of the race today . The Larson/Busch incident was quite comical. I don't think that could happen in F1 because 1) they have to follow a safety car in single file, and 2) any cars entering the pits must be within a white line marked on the track. For safety reasons there's also a line on the pit exit. I've seen a few drivers penalized for crossing the exit line, but in today's Russian Grand Prix the stewards gave a driver a 5-second penalty for crossing the entry line.

Sorry I missed your post, BCF124, and thanks for taking the time to solve the crosswords. I think you're actually referring to the clue for 17 down in crossword #4. You can find the answer in 'Ding, Dong, the Boss Is Dead' in season 5. If you want a further clue, the first word is a metallic element. Hope that helps - PM me if you're still stuck .

Brad Paisley
HossC replied to Mark B / Scooter Davenport's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
Thanks for that, Mark. I'm not a huge fan of most modern Country music, but this one avoided the clichés and had a great banjo. To save people searching, here's the video: I'm not the only one who finds some modern Country music formulaic. I found this video earlier in the year, but never got around to posting it, It's a mashup of six recent (2013/2014) songs. I don't think we've seen it on HNet before.
