  1. I love that song as it is one my favorites, BUT and it is a big but, listen to the last verse and there is no way it is something that the Dukes would do. The first two verses are so much Dukes related til they get the plan for the drug running. Great song . Copperhead Road - Steve Earle Well my name's John Lee Pettimore Same as my daddy and his daddy before You hardly ever saw Grandaddy down here He only came to town about twice a year He'd buy a hundred pounds of yeast and some copper line Everybody knew that he made moonshine Now the revenue man wanted Grandaddy bad He headed up the holler with everything he had It's before my time but I've been told He never came back from Copperhead Road Now Daddy ran the whiskey in a big block Dodge Bought it at an auction at the Mason's Lodge Johnson County Sheriff painted on the side Just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside Well him and my uncle tore that engine down I still remember that rumblin' sound Well the sheriff came around in the middle of the night Heard mama cryin', knew something wasn't right He was headed down to Knoxville with the weekly load You could smell the whiskey burnin' down Copperhead Road I volunteered for the Army on my birthday They draft the white trash first,'round here anyway I done two tours of duty in Vietnam And I came home with a brand new plan I take the seed from Colombia and Mexico I plant it up the holler down Copperhead Road Well the D.E.A.'s got a chopper in the air I wake up screaming like I'm back over there I learned a thing or two from ol' Charlie don't you know You better stay away from Copperhead Road I'm gone Darrell
  2. Said it a long time ago about my user name. Capt Redneck - named after my favorite wrestler Capt Redneck Dick Murdoch. I was a huge Road Warriors mark back in the 80's and back in 1988 they were wrestling at a high school on Long Island the next town over from me. Dick Murdoch was on the card also. My father took my best friend and I. After the matches I waited for autographs and the Roadies and Murdoch came out of the locker room. They talked to a group of us for a awhile , but Dick Murdoch and my dad connected in such a way that they looked liked they were best friends for a lifetime. I never seen my dad like that. I was in awe of the Road Warriors and here he was laughing and joking and carrying on swapping stories with Capt Redneck Dick Murdoch. I ended up losing my dad a few months later but that memory will last forever for me. Also because of my mom's side of the family being from NC and having the confederate flag tattooed on me. I'm gone Darrell
  3. Haven't been on in a few days... just awesome. looking like it is coming along very good. Just a couple of questions. Looking at the pix of the frame/crossmembers and the floor panels - they look a little bit rusty. Did you do anything to them to prevent further corrosion or is it just the pix? Second question - You can't be serious about no more pix or updates? I want more. Please keep us updated here and as I said before it is truly appreciated by all of us here at HNet Anyway, I am jealous that you are doing it. I'm gone Darrell
  4. Probably the BEST lineup of the Four Horsemen - ever. I was watching last night. I would it give it a 8/10. I wish more of the 80's wrestlers would come out to say goodbye. It was a great surprise to the Horsemen and Greg "the Hammer" Valentine, but where was Dusty? They had The Dragon - Ricky Steamboat there which was awesome. I wish one person would have shown up - STING. I know he is contractually obligated to TNA, but that would have gotten a huge pop. Can you imagine the lights going out and when they come back on - Sting is standing there. That would have been huge. I know Sting was Ric's last opponet on WCW's last day. Ric always to do a farewell match with him, but recently he couldn't acknowledge that or even say publicy any more because of his damn WWE/F contract. This is Ric Flair we all know and unfortunately he became such a company man in the last years of wrestling career. He will always be "The Man" to me no matter what. There will be no one even close to the wrestler the Naitch was.. I'm gone Darrell
  5. Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd ( Listen to words of this songand you will know what I mean) Down South Jukin' - Lynyrd Skynyrd ( for those nights in the Boar's Nest) AC/DC - Shoot To Thrill ( For those bowhunting days ) Tim McGraw - Down On The Farm ( Something I can picture Bo & Luke doing ) I'm gone Darrell
  6. Just damn good....I love the Buford Pusser connection. In case anyone on here doesn't know The State Line Mob is the syndicate that controled the Miss./Tenn state line with gambling and other illegal activites in the 50's/60's. They were the ones that Sheriff Buford Pusser went after and were the ones who ambushed him and his wife killing her onm Aug 12, 1967.. I did a paper on Bufors Pusser back in college and am a huge collector of stuff from him. They remind me more of Drive By Truckers and Little Big Town with some Bad Co. thrown in somewhat. Pretty good Southern Rock. Love their myspace with the General Lee.... I'm gone Darrell
  7. So we are just average fans because we don't have a General Lee or Police car replica? Is this along the same line as when you said you are not "true" Dukes fan for liking the 05 movie? By the way I would have preferred Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott to be there. As far as Adam West, I am scratching my head... I'm gone Darrell
