  1. I got to see Jimmie in action on the Dukes reunion set. Not only was he amazing in front of the camera, but I swear he knew more about the workings BEHIND the camera than anyone else on the set. His knowledge was amazing, such a talent. I'm so grateful he invited me to see that.
  2. He and Burt were good friends. I think Burt even attended his acting school. He told Jimmie back in the 70's that in a few years he'd be a household name and he was right.
  3. Thanks, Roger. He was quite a character, definitely one of a kind. I was fortunate to spend a lot of personal time with him, fishing, talking, joking, discussing creative endeavors, and just plain carrying on. Jimmie would still tear up when he talked about Sorrell. I know they're together once again and that makes me smile.
  4. I had written this many years ago in response to a fan fiction challenge involving death. I never finished the story or published any of it, but I thought this section of it would be appropriate to share now. It originally included Taps and a 3 volley salute, led by Sheriff Little, but I thought that part of it would be too sad. Maybe someday I'll publish the whole thing. But for now... The Funeral of Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane http://www.hazzardnet.com/blog/2015/04/08/the-funeral-of-sheriff-rosco-p-coltrane/
  5. Jimmie wrote this poem a while back. This is how he wants us to remember him... with laughter. http://www.hazzardnet.com/blog/2015/04/08/remember-me-with-laughter/
  6. I don't think Jimmie had fallen on hard times. I won't comment on his net worth, except to say I'm pretty sure that website is inaccurate. He did move from a mansion in Oviedo, FL to other homes over the years and I think they may have "downsized". Jimmie once told me he wanted to make sure he left plenty for his family and knowing him, I'm confident he did. And that's all I'll say about that.
  7. Jimmie died this morning at the age of 88, after a brief illness and double pneumonia. As many of you know, I was fortunate enough to know Jimmie personally. As soon as I have time to gather my thoughts, I will post something on the main page of Hazzardnet. In the meantime, feel free to leave your fond remembrances of him here.
  8. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
  9. I may be moving to another host. There have been quite a few outages over the last year, most only an hour or two, but since the first of the year there have been two major outages. Getting tired of it.
  10. As some of you may have noticed, the site was unavailable most of yesterday. There was a major outage in the datacenter for my webhost, affecting thousands of sites. Things have been resolved, but you might experience some residual connectivity problems until things settle.
  11. Ha! I was going to mention that you might not be able to tell the difference from my regular posts. I'm feeling pretty darn good, all things considered.
  12. Chuaigh sé go maith. Tá mé ag resting sa bhaile. (Yay, Google translate.) It went well. I am resting at home. If I post anything nonsensical in the next few days, that's the drugs talking. LOL.
  13. Today's the day. I'll let you guys know how I'm doing as soon as I can. Wish me luck!
  14. Things went well at my pre-op appointment today. Looking forward to healing up and getting rid of this pain! I hope there'll be a new and improved Meadowmufn after I recuperate.
  15. Thanks, Rog. I love you guys, too. All of you have lifted my spirits a bit. I've had surgeries before, but this time is different than the others and it's making me nervous.
  16. Oops. LOL. I've seen it as both here in the states, but most often as St. Patty's lately. Apparently, it grates on some folks' nerves over in your part of the world. http://paddynotpatty.com/ Also, it's my parents' 57th wedding anniversary that day. They say that the secret to a long marriage is two television sets. LOL!
  17. Awesome idea for a thread. My favorite is, of course, Too Many Roscos, followed closely by Baa, Baa White Sheep. I'm a sucker for a good twin/doppleganger episode.
  18. Well, that'll be an improvement because I'm not sure the place was ever clean to begin with.
  19. Thanks, all. It'll take me a few weeks to get back on my feet again, but I should be much better once I am. My surgery is a week from tomorrow... on St. Patty's Day. No green beer for me. LOL.
  20. I know I haven't been around much lately. I've been dealing with medical issues that have become serious enough to require surgery, so I'll be away for a good part of the rest of the month recuperating. I'll be checking email occasionally after my surgery, so if there are any issues with the site or anything that needs my attention, please let me know. If new folks sign up, I'm sorry if I don't approve your messages or un-moderate your account in a timely manner. I'll get to it when I can. I'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers . -Mufn
  21. I read about that in one of the FB Dukes groups. They had a copy of his passport AND driver's license. I don't see what more they need to prove it's him.
  22. Just watched Uncle Boss today and Rosco and Enos use the handles Top Dog and Young Pup.
  23. Technically, it would be a "codename", which is often interchangeable with "call sign" or "handle", but I agree that it's military in origin and not a "CB" handle and was only used once. As for "Bear and Chief" appearing in the Christmas episode, I think that was misheard and was really "bearded sheep", referring to Cooter and the boys running around in Santa outfits. If someone has the time and dvd, that could easily be checked out.
  24. I'm still wondering where Seattle got that new o-line. Russell had plenty of time to make his plays. Sadly for the Broncos, the Seahawks defense scored more than the Denver offense. Tomorrow, downtown Seattle is going to be crazy with the parade. It passes a block from the building I work in. We have to take the car in to get fixed, so I'm debating working from home tomorrow.
  25. I saw that a few days ago. Yeah, spellcheck is your friend. LOL! So glad my Seahawks won, but I feel bad for Peyton and the Broncos losing so badly. I had NO idea our guys would dominate so much. If you had told me the final score before the game, I would've thought you were crazy. I expected it to be much closer. It's going to be crazy at work in downtown Seattle tomorrow.
