I could be wrong, but I think that I caught a few things: * BoJames: Wasn't Miz Tizdale a fill-in cop at one time? I thought that her and Cletus had one day of patrol. *General Grant: One of your questions was about how many relatives Boss Hogg had. Wasn't Maybelle (the telephone operator-I don't recall the exact typing of her name) his niece or something like that? Like I said, I'm not 100% on those, but I just thought I would bring it up. That does kind of sound like Maudeen-thanks for sharing! I got a grin out of that story! If you (or any other Dukes or non-Dukes such as Boss and Rosco) have any more of Maudeen, please share them. Daisy, how do you feel about the boys always driving your Jeep? I've never seen you drive their car if they are in the vehicle. And, they always jump in your vehicle and assume they are to drive it. Ouch to everyone! Some of the stuff that you've went through sounds terrible-especially from Roscolover. Is the foot looking or feeling any better? General-funny story! Same with you to Julie, I liked yours! So, I guess this is the spot to admit your Rosco moments, while letting everyone else laugh at you in the process and share there stories so that you can laugh at them? Well, I guess that (gulp) I have a couple, too: My Dad needed help holding a plastic PVC plumbing pipe. The pipe was on a wooden step behind his work trailer. He had a saw and started cutting through the pipe. I was on the wooden step holding the pipe with my one foot, when I decided that it was getting boring to just stand here, and it would be much more fun if I tried to balance on the pipe. So, I used both of my feet to hold the pipe. Well, that didn't work to great. I fell of the steps and hit my head smack into some metal on the trailer, and fell into some mud. Boy, did that ever hurt! I'm suprised i didn't get a concussion! Or..... The time that I was getting a trailer to hook onto our four-wheeler. There was a bit of a slope and done this little (I mean, really small) slope is our horse pasture. Well, the trailer was parked at an angle, and I thought that it would be much easier if I turned the trailer straighter so it was purpendicular to our gravel driveway. So, I turned it. (Mind you, there's a slope!) Well, as soon as I did that, the trailer started rolling down. I'm sitting there trying to fight this trailer, and it keep rolling down. So, I eventually get dragged by this trailer, and inches before it hits the fence, it finally stops. So, I'm on the ground being hauled by this trailer, still in shock, I get up, dust myself off. I then look around to see if someone saw. Well, my Dad saw, but I didn't know he did at the time. I kind of chuckled, and went on my way. So, I can understand perfectly: I've had my Rosco moments too, and I still am doing them! Laura Duke P.S. Thanks to Roscolover for starting this post, I bet that it's going to be a really fun one!

Hey Roger (and everyone else, of course)! You bring up a great point: Lulu and Miz Tizdale should have been on a LOT more than they were. Also, I don't think that only the middle-aged people loved those. For me, it's really safe to assume that everyone loved them. They brought a lot of energy and different things to the table. They brought a lot of humor, and love to the show. Come on, who didn't love how just about when Boss Hogg was to scam the Dukes, Lulu would be there to threaten Boss-that in itself was funny-and Boss' face! Or, everytime you saw Miz Tizdale, she made you pick a number at the post office-whether she knew you or not! She was so spunky, and really acted a lot younger than she was. And, let's not forget her doing wheelies on her motorcycle! Plus, it seemed like John, Catherine, and John really loved being around her, they always hugged her and had a big grin on there faces when she was around. So, you're right, they should have been around more. But, for the time they were on-they were greatly enjoyed! Laura Duke

Hi Redneck girl 01! Welcome! It's always so exciting to get a die-hard Duke fan! I had a smile on my face-it's so exciting meeting the original cast. A week ago I met my first Dukes character-Ben "Cooter" Jones. So, I know exactly what you are talking about when you say that you were smiling for weeks. I do apologize, because I have no idea as to how to sign up for John Schneider's fan club. I wish you luck, and I sure do hope that someone will be able to tell you how to do that. Hey Everyone! This has really been enjoyable to read about all the friends/family everyone has met along the way. I'm so glad that there is a feeling of connection. I do apologize-Roger and General are absolutely right. Thanks to the moderators for all of the hard work they do. So much of the time, I take this place for granted-I don't stop to think about how much work it must really be. So, my thanks for all you do on here to keep this place running, and to make us happy! I hope that others will use this thread as a way to tell one another how much your friends have impacted your life. Hey Everyone! I went!!!! I feel so honored to have met Ben Jones! General Grant told our story wonderfully, so I don't have to say a whole lot. The only thing I can say, was that I was SO excited. Like General said, my legs were shaking, and I just about fell a few times, I was so excited to meet him. He's taller than I thought he would be, too. His wife and Ben are so sweet, and I can't tell you how much fun it was! I ACTUALLY held my composure while in front of him, and after we stepped away from him, I balled my eyes out because, for me, it was like seeing a member of my family that I haven't seen in years. I'll never forget that! So, other than General Grant and myself, was there any other lucky people that were able to make it? Let us know! Sorry, Brian and Julie that you couldn't make it. Laura Duke

Hey Everyone, I aplogize ahead of time, because this is a long letter. But, I got this in the form of an email, and I like it so much that I wanted to share it: One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name. THEN SHE TOLD THEM TO THINK OF THE NICEST THING THEY COULD SAY ABOUT EACH OF THEIR CLASSMATES AND WRITE IT DOWN. IT TOOK THE REMAINDER OF THE CLASS PERIOD TO FINISH THEIR ASSIGNMENT, AND AS THE STUDENTS LEFT THE ROOM, EACH ONE HANDED IN THE PAPERS. THAT SATURDAY, THE TEACHER WROTE DOWN THE NAME OF EACH STUDENT ON A SEPARATE SHEET OF PAPER, AND LISTED WHAT EVERYONE ELSE HAD SAID ABOUT THAT INDIVIDUAL. ON MONDAY SHE GAVE EACH STUDENT HIS OR HER LIST. BEFORE LONG, THE ENTIRE CLASS WAS SMILING. "REALLY?" SHE HEARD WHISPERED. "I NEVER KNEW THAT I MEANT ANYTHING TO ANYONE!" AND, "I DIDN'T KNOW OTHERS LIKED ME SO MUCH," WERE MOST OF THE COMMENTS. No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on. SEVERAL YEARS LATER, ONE OF THE STUDENTS WAS KILLED IN VIETNAM AND HIS TEACHER ATTENDED THE FUNERAL OF THAT SPECIAL STUDENT. SHE HAD NEVER SEEN A SERVICEMAN I N A MILITARY COFFIN BEFORE. HE LOOKED SO HANDSOME, SO MATURE. THE CHURCH WAS PACKED WITH HIS FRIENDS. ONE BY ONE THOSE WHO LOVED HIM TOOK A LAST WALK BY THE COFFIN. THE TEACHER WAS THE LAST ONE TO BLESS THE COFFIN. AS SHE STOOD THERE, ONE OF THE SOLDIERS WHO ACTED AS PALLBEARER CAME UP TO HER. "WERE YOU MARK'S MATH TEACHER?" HE ASKED. SHE NODDED: "YES." THEN HE SAID: "MARK TALKED ABOUT YOU A LOT." AFTER THE FUNERAL, MOST OF MARK'S FORMER CLASSMATES WENT TOGETHER TO A LUNCHEON. MARK'S MOTHER AND FATHER WERE THERE, OBVIOUSLY WAITING TO SPEAK WITH HIS TEACHER. "WE WANT TO SHOW YOU SOMETHING," HIS FATHER SAID, TAKING A WALLET OUT OF HIS POCKET "THEY FOUND THIS ON MARK WHEN HE WAS KILLED. WE THOUGHT YOU MIGHT RECOGNIZE IT." Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Mark's classmates had said about him. "THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THAT," MARK'S MOTHER SAID. "AS YOU CAN SEE, MARK TREASURED IT." ALL OF MARK'S FORMER CLASSMATES STARTED TO GATHER AROUND. CHARLIE SMILED RATHER SHEEPISHLY AND SAID, "I STILL HAVE MY LIST. IT'S IN THE TOP DRAWER OF MY DESK AT HOME." CHUCK'S WIFE SAID, "CHUCK ASKED ME TO PUT HIS IN OUR WEDDING ALBUM." "I HAVE MINE TOO," MARILYN SAID. "IT'S IN MY DIARY" THEN VICKI, ANOTHER CLASSMATE, REACHED INTO HER POCKETBOOK, TOOK OUT HER WALLET AND SHOWED HER WORN AND FRAZZLED LIST TO THE GROUP. "I CARRY THIS WITH ME AT ALL TIMES," VICKI SAID AND WITHOUT BATTING AN EYELASH, SHE CONTINUED: "I THINK WE ALL SAVED OUR LISTS" THAT'S WHEN THE TEACHER FINALLY SAT DOWN AND CRIED. SHE CRIED FOR MARK AND FOR ALL HIS FRIENDS WHO WOULD NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN. THE DENSITY OF PEOPLE IN SOCIETY IS SO THICK THAT WE FORGET THAT LIFE WILL END ONE DAY. AND WE DON'T KNOW WHEN THAT ONE DAY WILL BE. SO PLEASE, TELL THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE AND CARE FOR, THAT THEY ARE SPECIAL AND IMPORTANT. TELL THEM, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. Reading this gave me an idea: why not tell one another how much we appreciate each other? I, personally, now some great people through this website, and I think that we should take the time to tell each other how much we love having one another around. Since this was my idea, I guess that I'll start, and hopefully this will create a great thread! *LoriDavenport: Since I've met you, I have enjoyed getting to know you so much. You have such a wonderful personality, and are filled with spunk! Plus, you are so easy and friendly to talk to. Emy-Rae Duke: You are so sweet, and I can feel such warmth, even when you are typing a letter. I can feel your good intentions. And, I've admired the fact that every time there's a new member, you are always there to welcome and greet them. RogerDuke: To me, you've been the Uncle Jesse. You've been there to kind of guide me and give me such wonderful advice, but you do it with the kindness and love the Uncle Jesse gave to Bo, Luke, and Daisy. Plus, I've also admired how you aren't afraid to stand up for what you believe in, while showing everyone respect and dignity along the way. General Grant: For me, I've always had such a fun time reading your letters, they're filled with "human emotion" so to speak. You write as if you are talking right in front of me. In all of your letters, I've never seen you cut down, harass, or try to force your opinions on anyone. And, I've really respected that a lot from you. BoJamesDuke: You are so much fun to be around! You always have a "let's have fun" attitude. You lighten up the mood, and I've always enjoyed chatting with you. I always laugh after hanging around you! DaisyMae: I love being around you, too. You have a personality that is so enjoyable. You're easy going, and fun. I feel like no matter the question, you are so kind and patient and happy to answer it for me. Hi Everyone! You know what I love about coming on HazzardNet? You always give me something new to think about! I must admit, in my mind I've never thought of Waylon Jennings to be part of the cast. I just thought of him as the "background guy." You know, the cool guy in the back that just says a couple of catchy jokes, makes you laugh, and then he leaves. I never really thought how important he really was until I read this post tonight! But, then I thought about how different the show would be if I muted everything that he said. Can you imagine that?!? I mean, you would hear the Dukes talking and stuff, but it wouldn't be the same! You would miss the jokes and what was happening. Like everyone was saying, he was such a pivotal part of the show. And, I didn't realize it was only 6 years ago that he passed away. I was thinking it was a lot longer. But, nevertheless, it's still sad to hear when a Duke Member passes away. Yes, I do listen to a bit of the older country, and I love the older movies, too! They are just so great!
