  1. Okay, I have a couple of questions for someone to answer for me, because it has been stumping/bugging me for a while: * Why are there green lights (on a distinguished road/unknown quantity) and red lights (can only hope to improve)? How do you get those lights, and if a red light, how can you make it a green light? * On the top right of a post, there is a picture of an (I forget the name, so I'm going to call it a "justice scale") icon that when you click it, you can talk about their reputation. What does that do? Also, do you get a "reputation point" for each person who compliments a post? Is there a way that you can view who/why a person gave you a reputation point and on which post/s you received the point for? * Also on the upper right portion of the post is a warning symbol. What is that for? Sorry for all the questions, but you would really be helping me out if someone explained all of that to me! Thanks, Laura:D
  2. Hey Lori, Congrats on the great result on your paper-I think that you deserved it! Like I said before, it's an awesome paper! And, if you can get both Roger and General to applaud you, as well as make Roger misty-eyed (from allergies), I say that you've done an awesome paper! I still remember getting the Dukes of Hazzard as a birthday gift almost 3 years ago. I actually (and it's hard to believe now) got it as a joke gift. A friend of mine was on vacation and watching the Dukes for the first time, and they caught the ending-about 10 minutes of watching the show, and my friend thought it was just an obnoxious show! (How wrong she was!) When she tried explaining the show to me, I just couldn't understand what she was talking about. So, on my birthday, she gave me the 1st season of the Dukes of Hazzard-a show I've never heard about until that moment I opened the gift. Well, when we sat down to watch the show-I was completely embarrassed. A girl sitting on her cousin's lap saying things like: "If we weren't cousins, I'd marry you" "Well that never stopped anybody in this family before" The first few shows went on like that, and I had a really tough time watching it. But, I didn't want to hurt my friend's feelings and return the show, so I kept watching. But, the more I watched, the more they toned down the show, and the more I watched, the more I enjoyed it. By the end of the 1st season, I was ready for more, and I just fell in love with it. When I finally finished all 7 seasons, I still wasn't satisfied, I wanted more info on the Dukes. So, I went online trying to find some really cool sites. One of the sites I found was HazzardNet. I would read posts, and this site was awesome! This, in general, was the family site I was looking for, and the people on here seemed to genuinely care about the Dukes, as well as the people on this site. And the rest is history, I signed up and have just fell in love with the Dukes, and the fans! Well, that's my story...... Laura Duke:D
  3. Hey Everyone, First off....it's great to see you around Redneck, Lori, and Garrett! Redneck, I have to say, you always put threads up that are very thought-provoking. I don't think that what you wrote was wrong at all-nor do I think that anyone is offended with anyone else. This was just a great idea on getting others to write down what they think, so that others can listen to both sides and make up their own minds. I am happy that the world didn't end today! I guess that they called that one wrong, happily! Okay, that's all I wanted to say. Everyone have a great rest of the day! Laura Duke:D
  4. Hey Val, You know, that's a really great question! I have not personally done any showing with cows, but I have seen some 4-H shows at the fair and it's kind of fun to watch. I take it that you show steers? I don't know a whole lot about the matter, but I always kind of wanted to learn more about this! I bet that it's a lot of fun to show! As for making money off of it, it seems like if you're a 4-H member, there are some really generous folks who will pay top dollar when you market the winning cow, but I could be wrong on that! Laura Duke:D
  5. Hi natey57! First off, like RogerDuke said, welcome to HazzardNet! I'm glad that you found this site, and I hope that you continue to stay here and share some wonderful memories the Dukes of Hazzard has given you. Secondly, what a cool bike! Did you add all the custom features yourself? That is one sharp looking bike, I wish I was in the market to buy it! I would have a hard time selling it! Again, welcome! Laura Duke:D
  6. Hey Dodge! Welcome to HazzardNet! This is a wonderful place to talk about the Dukes of Hazzard! You know, if you love the Dodge Charger, there's a thread on here by a guy that is taking a '69 Dodge Charger and converting it to the General Lee-check it out! Again, welcome, I hope you enjoy this place! And look out for RogerDuke! Laura Duke:D
  7. Oh, this is wonderful! The first time I'm not late to sing Happy Birthday! This is wonderful! Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday dear Tom and Luke! Happy Birthday to You! ...And of course, many more! Laura Duke:D
  8. Oh, another birthday song that I get to sing! Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday dear Sonny and Enos! Happy Birthday to You! And, like Ben, I'm sure that you will also have other great birthdays to follow! Laura Duke:D
  9. Well, here I am...late. You can always count on me to be late! But, I still wanted to come and sing happy birthday! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Ben and Cooter! Happy Birthday to you! ...And I know you'll have many more! By the way Roger, did you start reading his book? How is it? Laura Duke:D
  10. Lori, What can I say? I read your entire paper on the Dukes of Hazzard. It was absolutely amazing! You know just how to write exactly what it is I'm feeling but don't have the talent to put words down on paper like you do. I think you covered EVERYTHING! And, thank you so much for sharing! I bet that you will get an A on that paper! Well done! And, thank you for that tribute to the Dukes, as well as us fans! Laura Duke:D
  11. Hey TomBo, Whoops! I did mean a '69 Dodge Charger, sorry about that! I'm not sure what I was thinking when I typed that! What do you mean there may not be a Dukesfest next year? I didn't hear anything about that, you must know something that I don't know. Thanks, I'll check all the other pictures out. It must be such a fun process to go through, especially when you have the know-how like you do! Keep up the great work! Laura Duke:D
  12. Hey artykidd, I see you figured it out, also! Three cheers for artykidd, and MaryAnne! Your avatar looks really neat, artykidd! Laura Duke:D
  13. MaryAnne, Thanks for telling all of us how to set up an avatar. I just did that, and I'm really excited that I FINALLY did one after being on here for almost a year. Your instructions were great, thanks! Laura Duke:D
  14. artykidd, That is some great artwork! You should be very pleased with your talents! My favorite is the one that you drew look up towards a tree, I believe that is the first drawing from the left. Very nice! Laura Duke:D
  15. Hey Everyone, Thanks for responding-I was beginning to think I ruffled some feathers by my post-most definately not the case! Well, I feel that Coy and Vance were set in as replacements for Bo and Luke. I also thought that on one of the DVD credits, Guy Waldron (the creator), also mentioned that they were there to try and "replace" Bo and Luke. In my mind, Coy and Vance did too many things like Bo and Luke. The only people who should drive the General Lee is Bo, Luke, Daisy, Uncle Jesse, and Me! Well, I'm kidding about me, but I sure wish I could! I think anytime someone is brought in as replacements, they are destined to fail, sorry to say. To me, it's like they are replacing my family! Also, I do hear a lot of people say that they think the show would have ended if Coy and Vance weren't on. I disagree with that. A lot of people loved Daisy, Uncle Jesse, and the whole cast enough that I think they would have waited it out. Besides, even with Coy and Vance, ratings were already beginning to dramatically fall. As for Byron and Chris, I can say you are 100% correct that I have never met them. In all honesty, my first instinct would be not wanting to meet them-just for the simple fact that they played Coy and Vance. But, I'm sure that once I did meet them, they probably are the nicest guys. I wish them well in all they do, and I hope that they have been acting since the Dukes. I just totally dislike them for the Dukes. All of you may think I'm stupid, and, sadly, that's something I'll have to live with. But, that's the way I feel. Just being open and honest with my feelings on the subject. Like I said, I have NOTHING against Byron and Chris personally, but I totally dislike Coy and Vance. I do with Byron and Chris all the luck in the world. Thanks for listening! Laura Duke:D
  16. Hi there!

Hope you are having a great day today!

  17. Hi!

Well, I still love your aviatar, even if it doesn't sparkle. I think it's cool just the way it is! Perfect for you!

  18. Hey Lori,

I was looking at all of the Introduce Yourself threads, and it looks like you first signed up for this site in June of last year.

Even though I'm a few months late, I just wanted to congratulate you for being on this site for a year! Sure am glad that I've been able to know you through this site.

And, a happy birthday, too! Even though I'm two weeks late!

  19. Hi Mike! I would also like to stop by and say hi. Welcome to HazzardNet! I think that is so cool that you found this site. I found it last October, and have loved it ever since! Congrats on making it to Dukesfest! I hope that you took lots of pictures and have great stories to tell. I am one of those that have never gone, so I hope you had a wonderful time! Well, talk to you later. And, again, welcome! Hope you stick around a long time! Laura Duke:D
  20. Hey Dukefan! I see that you earned your username: dukefan1! I'm so happy to hear that you won the contest! What were the questions? Glad you shared that with us, I'm so happy for you! Laura Duke:D
  21. Well, that shouldn't be! Sorry to hear track 8 doesn't play. It probably wasn't a good song anyways! Talk to you later! Laura Duke:D
  22. Hi Scar! I'm glad that you figured out how to get on this thread! I would like to welcome you to HazzardNet, this sure is a great group of people on here! I hope you find this site as much fun as I do! Hey Roger, do I detect some dry humor going on? Talk to you soon, and again, welcome! Laura Duke:D
  23. Okay everyone, it took me long enough to find this post. Now, I can hear people groaning, because if you know me, you know that I am totally against everything on the 5th season with Coy and Vance. While everyone had some valid points about Byron and Chris, and how they were stuck in a bad situation, there could be another side to this. It could be that they knew going in that it would be tough, and I'm sure that they knew that they were there to replace Tom and John, since I think on one of the dvd credits that John recommended Byron for a role in the Dukes. I think that they knew it would be hard, and could they possibly have done it as a quick way to rise to fame? Maybe it back fired on them? I know, I know, I can hear people yelling at me "You're awful!" But, one can't help but think of that. Now, I have watched all of the shows on season 5 with Coy and Vance, and will no longer watch them anymore. Just turning on a show with them and seeing there faces on the credits instead of Bo and Luke sends me into tears! Well, that's just my two cents..... Laura Duke:D
  24. Hey artykidd! Welcome to HazzardNet! I'm glad you found this place! I've been here for about a year, and I can tell you that this is a great place! You will meet so many kind people on here, as well as learn a lot! ...And I thought that I was the only person to climb in and out of a vehicle like Bo and Luke! Laura Duke:D
  25. Hey JulieDuke! I'm glad that the free cd is a great one. You've probably just about wore it out, right? It just goes to show people who don't believe in free items: some free things are not junk. Laura Duke:D
