I think the hall of fame will be in North Carolina somewhere...that is where a lot of their racing garages and all that is located at. Richard Petty has a museum type thing down there somewhere and by what my aunt and uncle has told me about it, it sounds great. Would love to go see it sometime. Heard about the hall of fame...an older driver, want to say Junior Johnson but not sure, was an old moonshine runner before he turned to NASCAR, well since he is getting inducted, he is building a still on display for the hall of fame. LOL. OK for the race...I did record the race, though have yet to watch it. I got home from work in time for them to show the replays of the green, white, checkers finish. Only to get me frustrated and upset at Matt Kennseth since he knocked Jeff Gordon (my favorite driver) out of the lead, on the last lap, Gordon in turn didn't give Kennseth any room to pass and sent him (Kennseth) up the track. Denny Hamlin who was dominant all day it sounds like ended up winning the race, Joey Lagono finished second, and Gordon was lucky enough to hold onto a third place finish after what happened. After that, I am not sure. I will have to look it up. Know Edwards finished eightth and Johnson finished nineth. Kennseth ended up 18th after what had happened. As for points...Jimmie Johnson is our new point leader, followed by Greg Biffle, and then Matt Kennseth. Gordon rose to seventh in points from eleventh. Sorry that is as far as I am sure of with points at the moment... I do have it on tape, but I will most likely not watch it since I know the end of it. Odd I know. The races I miss, I record, but am too impatient to wait to see who wins it so I don't end up watching it. Though this weekend is another off weekend, so maybe I'll get bored and miss the race enough to watch it.
  2. Congratulations Mini on your new son! He is so adorable!
  3. OK I'll shut up about the end of the race. I just get frustrated/upset when people begin banging on Gordon on purpose. Don't care if it is for the win or what not, give him some respect. Gordon wouldn't have raced him that way if the roles were reversed...at least I can't see him doing it. (perhaps it is just me.)

Well I hope your week will get better and not so long. :) We are going to another off weekend...hmph. Hope you have a great Easter if I don't get to talk to you before hand!

  4. Anyway, Kennseth in the article at NASCAR.com took part blame for it so that surprised me, though he wasn't very happy at Gordon either. Gordon wasn't happy about it either. Gordon's post race comment was funny...he said he wasn't sure what that was about (or something like that), but he made sure that he (Kennseth) wasn't going to be the one that won the race. HA HA. Perhaps I shouldn't find it too funny, but I don't understand what Kennseth has against Gordon. I guess they were both going for the win, but what does Kennseth expect Gordon to do when he's pushing and running into Gordon on purpose? Just sit back and let Kennseht pass him? I don't think anyone would.

It hurt Kennseth a lot more than it did Gordon position wise and point wise. So I shouldn't be upset at it perhaps. But still...

  5. Though I did rewind it a few times to see the last restart, enough to get me more frustrated and upset at Matt Kennseth. Especially reading his comments about it online just a few minutes ago. He just needs to back off and leave Gordon alone and let Gordon win the dang race! HA HA HA. Ain't gonna happen, but it'd be nice. Have a feeling it reopened that can of worms that had started back at Bristol of '06 I think? Where Kennseth wrecked Gordon on the last lap of the spring Bristol race and Gordon shoved Kennseth when Kennseht approached him right afterwards...you go to that race?

  6. Well I had to work so I missed the race, got home in time to see them showing the replays of the end of the race. Though I did record it, but now seeing the end, I doubt I'll watch it. I am like that...odd I know. I tape the races I don't get to watch, but then can't wait to know who wins to watch it so then I look it up or catch the end and then don't end up watching the dang tape anyway. I guess if Gordon would win one of them races, I may want to go watch it...

  7. And Martinsville...that is too bad that you got the wrong channel! That is so frustrating. SPEED channel shows the past race on Thursday's earl afternoons if you know someone who could record it for you? Good thing you got clips of it though.

  8. Guess that makes sense about Gordon being back there. Bristol is such a small track that it is easy to get lapped and be hard to earn that lap back. Am having a hard time remembering all that happened at Bristol...see how good my memory is. Know Gordon didn't do all that good and now looking back at the accident. ERRR LOL.

Figured you'd rather have Kurt win it over JJ...felt bad in that sense for you. Though I'd rahter have JJ win it. Though was kinda funny hearing Kurt talk about how he'd rather lose the race to anyone but to the 48. HA HA. Think almost everyone out there is probably feeling that way.

  9. Don't rush this year along...please??!! LOL. I want to enjoy it while I can...next year will only mean a year closer to Gordon's retirement. Whenever that will be (hopefully a long ways away, but you never know with how people keep talking about him) and want to enjoy him out there racing as much as possible. (Pathetic, aren't I?) HA HA. Though I don't blame you for looking forward to it...glad you get to go again and are excited about it too. I did notice all the empty seats. That is a big bummer. Bristol's an awesome track and race...my opinion of course. especially the night race.

  10. Bored? Me bored hearing about racing...especially one YOU went to? Not a chance! ;) (Especially hearing you going for Gordon! :D ) Sounds like you had a great time. That was nice that your cousin got to go and that you shared your scanner/headset.

I bet Gordon does get riled up as does anyone out there...it is just good knowing it isn't a frequent thing. I read about Jr's outburst online, but I can't remember them sharing it over the TV. Wonder where I was at that time. . .Hmmmm. Soudns like he was upset. Too bad you had to hear it.

  12. I watched The Blind Side last night - starring Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw. I thought it was an awesome movie - a very emotional movie, especially knowing they are based on true events. Glad to see that it all ended up at a good end, an happy ending. This is the third movie that Tim McGraw has been in, though this is the first one that I've seen him in. Haven't seen the other two as of yet. Surprisingly since I am a big fan of his music. Anyway, I thought he did a great job playing the part he played! Just thought I'd give my two cents worth on and to see what everyone else thought of the movie that has seen it so far.

Well, the race today at Martinsville got rained out or postponed for tomorrow at noon ET on FOX. Too bad I'll be worrking at noon...or eleven my time when it starts. Guess that's when teh VCR comes in handy to record it. I thought of you Roger...just learned today t hat they are opening NASCAR's Hall of Fame on May 11th this year. Uncle Jesse's birthday!
  14. Bummer Roger, you weren't quick enough with that warning o' your's. I wonder who's going to bail poor Cale outta jail so he can make it to his next big race. (Begins to count pennies )
  15. Be as You Are - Kenny Chesney (GLG - we're both sounding like broken records by stating the same artists...wonder if there is a rule against using the same artist over and over again?)

I never thought about the speed with the spoiler, but they had the spoiler on the old car that they use to drive before this COT car that they are driving. So I guess we will see tomorrow how it will affect the car. You know, Roger, every time I think of Cale (I know, it should be him on the Dukes...)but it is of old replays they play during the Daytona 500 (the first race of the season). I probably shouldn't say this because I don't know all the details, but find it interesting all the same. Was during the first broadcast race at Daytona, 1979, last lap Cale and Donnie Allison were ahead by along shot, Cale went to pass and they wrecked and Richard Petty went on to win the race. Donnie's brother Bobby stopped by to offer Donnie a ride and it started a fight. The fight is credited for the attention NASCAR has recieved after that or something like that. (Got some ofthe info from... http://nascar.about.com/od/tracks/tp/daytona500.htm) Just a little Daytona and Cale history there. Hope they all have a fun and safe race tomorrow! (PS: Roger, you pick a favorite driver yet? Let me rephrase that...a favorite current driver? )

  20. Hey Roger - what a great idea for the NASCAR thread. Have I got ya addicted to the sport yet? ;) I enjoyed putting the summary up for the race...that was fun. Something I actually know about. HA HA.

You said something about the past NASCAR thread...I thought I sent you a link to it? Did it not work or was it the wrong one...or what you were no thinking about? Maybe I just imagined sending it. I don't know, just thought I'd ask. Hope you are having a great weekend.

Hey Roger - What a great idea to start a NASCAR thread! Why didn't I think of it? HA HA HA. Well you had to go and correct yourself, didn't ya? Was about to give you a hard time for not capitalizing NASCAR, but dang it, now I can't. You just don't let me have any fun, you know? Though I guess I'll let it slide since it was your great idea to start a NASCAR thread. Thanks for the info about Cale...never knew today was his birthday. You know how old he turned? (Just curious.) This weekend's race is in Martinsville, VA where they are now officially rid of the rear wing and they will be going back to the spoiler. (On the very end of the car...I can look up pictures if you want to see differences.) Am excited for the change and I think the spoiler is safer than the wing - to me (maybe this is a wrong accessment) but it seemed like the cars were more apt to getting flipped or air born with the wing - Keselowski in Atlanta for example. The spoiler doesn't have the open gap that the wing had under it that I would think would catch the air more in case of an accident. That is my own personal thought of the wing and the spoiler. Hopefully all that makes sense. Anyway, qualifying was rained out so the boys will be starting out according to where they are in the points...giving Kevin Harvick the pole and Matt Kennseth in second. Martinsville is a track that both Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are great at ...Gordon has finished in the top five or ten seven consecutive years and they both have a handful of wins at this track. Being a Gordon and Johnson fan, am really excited about being in Martinsville. Jeff Gordon being my all-time favorite driver, am hoping he gets the win he has been lacking thus far this season. Though there are other drivers that I read that are good here as well...in the NASCAR.com article I read a few days ago I believe they said that the Rousch drivers are good here. The race is on Sunday, March 28 (tomorrow) on FOX at 1:00 ET or noon central time (my time) with the prerace show starting an hour before then. If anyone has any more questions or if I think of anything else about the track/race, I'll post later. For now that is all that I can think of. (Thank-you Roger for giving me the opportunity to talk NASCAR! As ol' Rosco would say "I just love it! Khee!" Ah or something like that. Anyway, I enjoyed given the platform to talk about the upcoming race...as always. HA HA.)
  22. OK I had to comment on General Lee Girl's comments on "Limo One is Missing". I have to agree. I love that episode...that has to be one of my all time favorite episodes. I like them breaking into the chop shop with Luke helping Bo - I just like seeing their bond or their friendship and them looking out for one another. It's great. Plus them fighting the bad guys was great too...especially the part where they knocked thier guys out and turn to attack another only to be facing each other! So funny! Or them driving the limo past Boss and splattering the mud all over him - Hazzard Classic. The hiccups was great too watching them try to help Bo to get rid of them...love Cooter's line when they are trying to take the limo away from the chop shop and that guy comes out with Daisy and Bo hiccups again and Cooter says something about "Hey look you scared his hiccups back." Or something like that. Was great to see Bo drive the limo - though he looks more natural behind the wheel of The General. Plus the fact that Boss was all dressed up and had plans of the president thanking him personally only for the president to call Jesse to thank him for bringing back the limo for him only for Jesse to decline having him to the house due to the poor shape of his glassware. HA HA...wish Boss was there to hear that! Also liked the part of them trying to hide the limo (the boys) in their barn and having to push it in and out in order to hide it from Enos...the gas can line was funny too. OK, think y'all get the drift that I like the episode... HA HA

Woo Hoo General Lee Girl! A NASCAR race...is like nothing else. HA HA. They are getting rid of the wing that they've had the past two years and going back to the rear spoiler for Sunday's race. You'll have to tell me what you think of it and if you find a driver or car you like or what not. Sorry...I'm addicted to anything NASCAR - especially the Sprint Cup. I can't wait to see the spoiler back on the cars and see if they will help them stay on the ground more than the dang wing did. (Guess they should have came up with a different name for it than wing. ) Anyway, got excited when I heard that you watched a race and can't wait to hear what you think about it and if you plan on watching more in the future or not. They are at Martinsville which is a track that my favorite driver (GO GORDON GO ) is good at so am looking forward to it on Sunday!
