  1. You are welcome, Roger. Being a baseball fan, thought that may help make it a little more sense than if I tried to explain it myself. Nationwide Series races I think are aired...perhaps on ESPN. They are interesting to watch, I just never really think of it when they are on. They are racing at Iowa's track this Saturday ...which is a track that Rusty Wallace built. Last year was the first year that Nationwide raced there and Kyle Busch won. Hopefully I'll catch at least some so I can see what it at least looks like. Am glad that Iowa has finally got a NASCAR track...now if only Sprint Cup would race on it. I just wish Rusty had built it bigger than what he did...
  2. Change can be a good thing, but also it brings uncertainty. I see where you are saying about predictability and all that, I fear that as well. The only problem I see is the reader aspect of it. I really do't know what my readers think or if I do have any readers. I don't get any feedback with it. If I moved it to ff.net, perhaps I would. I don't know. Right now my stories are on MA's submitted page and no one has wrote me in a long time to really tell me what they think. Except for one person. I am torn, because I do like writing in first to put myself or my "readers' in that position. I do write third POV every once in awhile when I write for a new character or a bad guy. But I guess that could be confusing as well. AHHHH! I hate decisions like this! LOL. Thanks for the advice, it will help a lot.

  3. Makes sense, Jami Lee. Thanks for the advice.
  4. Never saw that cartoon, but I did watch a lot of Teenage Mutant Ninja cartoons and movies while growing up. Cowabunga Dude!

Kyle Busch 7. Jeff Burton 8. Matt Kenseth 9. Tony Stewart 10. Carl Edwards 11. Greg Biffle 12. Clint Bowyer 13. Mark Martin (- 62) 14. Dale Earnhardt Jr. 15. Ryan Newman
  7. Welcome Earl to HNet! It is always great to meet new Duke fans, especially ones that can talk all day about the show! Get me on the Dukes or NASCAR, I can talk all day about. Of course that is about all I know about. Anyway, hope you enjoy your stay and to see you around!
  8. Congrats at being out of school...good luck at getting into the Army. Hope it goes as planned. Not a whole lot is going on here. Work...LOL. Garrett has cooperated surprisingly well for awhile and had even finished my story and started another one. Just started it actually and now hit another road block as I am left wondering if I should continue writing in first person as all my stories in my series are or switch to third. What you think? ;)

  9. Hope you had a very special and great birthday! Happy birthday, Jimmie!
  10. Hey Lori! Roger's right, don't stay away so long next time. Well how is it y'all get author's that are known...at least I know them, and I get one I never heard of before. Don't know if I should take that as a good thing or a bad thing. LOL. I agree Lori, I like the Di Vinci Code. But never read his Demons & Angels book. Though have heard of it.
  11. Bo nods slightly as he feels a slow tickle of wind brush up against the back of his neck. Looking at Jesse, he sighs and says, "Well, I'll get goin' to town to pick these things up. Anything else?" He takes a couple of steps backwards, giving Jesse a quizzical look though thinking he already knows the answer to the question. If Jesse wanted anythign else, he'd have put it on the paper.
  12. Good golly Roger, should have known you'd be a fan of Sponge Bob. I for one can't stand the show and can't believe anyone would be talking about it on Hnet.
  13. They do tape up the grill and they said why several times but can't think of the reason...something about the air I think and tempeture but that is all I can say off the top of my head. JJ and Gordon had rough races yesterday. There was a lot of empty seats there yesterday. NASCAR keeps worrying about the lack of fans and the lack of TV audiences it is gathering each week. THey also keep saying something about big changes or changes next year. Am interested to see what it is. Hopefully it is all good. The announcers refused to talk about the empty seats...at the start of the race, one of the announcers stated that they saw the empty seats but they weren't going to talk about it, isntead they were going to talk about the race.
  14. Am glad to hear you had a good birthday! The fair sounds fun and the funnel cake sounds very good. Haven't had one of those in a looonnnnggg time. LOL :)

  15. Crazy Cooter Davenport is Hazzard County's mechanic that helped the boys out of trouble and to help the law repair all their cars they crashed chasing the Duke boys.
  16. Thanks for posting that! It is hard to imagine Uncle Jesse without the white beard and mustache, the red hunting cap, and the overalls. Now I can say I seen him without all that. It was a great photo of Denver.
  17. Well the Brickyard just finished and it started out with a bang when Kyle Busch on the first lap spun out to collect several drivers in the first accident. I think they had six cautions all in all, but mainly for debri. Juan Pablo Montoya led the most laps, but during the last pit stop he took four tires while Jamie McMurray and others took two to send Montoya to eightth spot. He later wrecked and took him out of the race. Jimmie Johnson had problems all day as did Jeff Gordon who finished 22nd and 23rd today. Jamie McMurray won the race to give car owner Chip Ganassi the trifecta since McMurray won the Daytona 500 this year, his Indy car won the Indy 400 and now McMurray won again today. Sad about Gordon and Johnson, but am very happy for Jamie Mac! He now only the third driver to be able to win both the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400...Jimmie Johnson and Dale Jarrett being the other two. Top ten finishers: 1. Jamie McMurray 2. Kevin Harvick 3. Greg Biffle 4. Clint Bowyer 5. Tony Stewart 6. Jeff Burton 7. Carl Edwards 8. Kyle Busch 9. Joey Lagano 10. Kurt Busch Am looking forward to Pocono next Sunday...
  18. Seasonal allergies can be horrible.
  19. He was the only one I remember seeing, but there was a lot of people there so that don't neccesarily mean anything seeing as he was in the crowd and everything. In the crowd and he had his truck with the other cars. It could be him...it'd be interesting to find out.
  20. *Hearing the sternness in Jesse's voice forces Bo to momentarily go silent as if he has just gotten in trouble for skipping school once again. Finally shrugs. Bo had attempted to go on with life and to act like nothing was wrong. But everyone knew what a bad liar and actor Bo was just as everyone knew how badly Jesse hated being lied to.* Yes sir *He hears himself say, once more thinking of the years he spent without Luke while Luke was at war.* It's just not the same without them here. The room is so damn quiet at night, I can't sleep. Don't matter no how. I can complain til I'm blue in the face, won't bring neither one of them back. I'll be fine. *He says the last sentence mostly for his own benefit, trying to convince himself that he'll be OK without his cousins around.*
  21. No thinkin' necessary? Hmmm just think of all the possibilities that aries here.
  22. *Slowly stops half way between General Lee and Uncle Jesse to slowly look around and give Jesse an innocent look.* Who me? I didn't drink nothin' but that sour orange juice this morning. Hadn't had much time to drink much else, Uncle Jesse. *Goes silent for a moment.* What look? What makes you think somethin' is botherin' me? I alright, Jesse.
