I think it'd be fun to see the Pirates vs the Cubs in the playoffs simply because I'm competitive with Garrett. LOL The Pirates just beat the Rangers three games in a row. On Tuesday night (in Texas) there were TWO outs in the bottom of the ninth with the Pirates up 5-2. Nobody was on base. It looked over. Before you known it, the Rangers had runners on the corners and the score was 5-4. Adrian Beltre was up for Texas and he's one of the best hitters in baseball, hitting .370 lifetime against the Pirates. First pitch: called strike Second pitch: swing and miss. Third pitch: swing and miss.
Since I don't follow NASCAR like you do Garrett I didn't know abut all this. Well, I knew about the original incident but not the aftermath. What a mess! I have a feeling this story has a long ways to go before it comes to a conclusion. I can certainly see why Jeff Gordon fans would be fired up. I agree about Jeff Gordon being classy. I posted on a different thread about how impressed I was with his after-race interview. Keep up posted!
I'm so sorry that Jeff Gordon didn't make The Chase Garrett. I feel so bad for you. Missing it by a single point is hard to believe. I was going crazy while watching it because it looked like he was going to pull it off but it just wasn't to be. For what it's worth I thought he was awesome in his after-race interview.....very gracious....definitely not one of those spoiled brat losers you see a lot of. He's a real class act.
That slap even made the mainstream media. Thanks for the update Garrett. So, when you say the 13th place driver gets a million dollars, I assume that's all his to keep, right? (minus taxes). It isn't how much everybody on the team divides up? How do they figure out how much each crew member gets?
There's been three episodes of Duck Dynasty so far this season and there's already been two Dukes references. Two weeks ago (hmmm, or was it last week?) Willie called himself Boss Hogg. Last night the boys had two toy woodpeckers that they were racing and they named them Bo and Luke. Considering all the Dukes references they've had in the past I'm sure it's no coincidence.....even though whoever is responsible for putting the words on the screen spelled it Beau. By the way, the woodpecker named Luke won the race.
Thanks Garrett. After a record breaking 21 years of losing seasons (the worst in the history of big league US sports) it's nice to see my Pirates doing well. I wish your Cubs would have had as good of a year. It would have been fun to face them in the playoffs. Maybe next year. I just saw that the Pirates pitchers have given up 88 home runs all season, the LEAST in all of baseball!
It's unusual for me to see Dukes advertised for 9:00. I noticed that the autographed black and white photo of Enos said 9:00 on it so it must have been sold in the central part of the US. Thanks for all these great pictures!
Garrett, am I correct in assuming it's way too difficult to figure out what has to happen for Jeff Gordon to make The Chase? Which drivers have to do poorly to help JG make it? If he doesn't finish in the top 5 in the next race does he still have a reasonable chance to get in?
This is tough. He looks a little like Denver. As I recall Denver has two sons. I've seen a picture of David. He founded at least two medical colleges in California and this is not him. I thought Shooter Jennings looked a little different and had darker hair but I haven't seen a picture of him for many years so I'm guessing Waylon.
NASCAR racing in northern Georgia! I wonder if Boss and Rosco have their celebrity speed trap set up and ready to catch a driver or two. Hoss, nice picture of Cale. For your sake Garrett, I hope Jeff gets off the "bubble" and onto The Chase. I had a great time at the local dirt race track last night. My cousin's husband's car won. He hasn't won a race since 2009 so it was a pretty big deal to him and his crew. My friend with the 01 car didn't do so well....unknown engine problem. He finished but way towards the back of the pack. They had something called the PATRIOT Sprint cars there as a special attraction so there was a big crowd. They're little short cars with a big wing on top and they're fast as lighting on the curves.
