Val and Brian are both right if you don't stick with it you will regret it later in life. Noone in my family has a degree some of us myself included has a college certificate in a field but not a degree. I struggled ALOT in school with math it was my worst subject but I tried my hardest and got mostly B's and C's but that was ok cos it was the best I could do. Don't let the bad ruin your enjoyment of the good cos believe it or not there are some good things about school. Just do your best and don't let others make you feel bad if it's not as well as someone else can do it's your best and they should accept that and if they don't it's their problem not yours. Just stay out of trouble and you've only got a few years left. My sis did better than I did in high school she wasn't straight A's either but where I got B's and C's in math she got A's she likes math though, but when she got in college that was a whole different ballgame and because she chose to do some things that caused her to flunk a few clasess. She got married and dropped out for a while and had to get a job making minimum wage that's when she decided the real world sucked worse if you don't get an education so she had to retake those classes when she went back to college, but now she is one semester away from being able to go from the local junior college to a 4 year college well actually the one she'll be attending is like a junior college only it's the last two years of a 4yr degree. So in two years she will have her degree in elementary education. Do what you can do enjoy the things there are to enjoy in school but you have to take the bad with the good and roll with the punches and if you do in the end you will be proud of what you accomplished. Ways to get kicked out of Chemistry Lab
B.L. Davenport replied to Val Strate's topic in Hazzard Swamp
I myself never took chemistry....I hear it's nasty stuff lol. B.L. -
ROFL, Brian you must have been every teacher's nightmare in school!!!!! My mom is a special education aide (it has a real big professional sounding title now I just can't think of it) at the highschool where I attended but I can't say as I've heard her say anything about finding squid in odd places hahahaha. If she comes home from work talking about any of those things or other things involving squid I'll know where they culprit found the idea B.L.

Ok I really don't know anything about John's kids but I'd like to respond to some things about 'water on the brain' or hydrocephilis. To Julie's post about 1978 they had a way of preventing it after birth it doesn't kill babies. I know several people who have it I myself was thought that I might have it when I was born in 1979 so the doctor's put in a shunt which if you don't know is a tube with a pump attached in the head just under the skin with tubing that drains to another area of the body because the spinal cord doesn't drain the fluid from the brain like it should. Well that's my quick lesson on hydrocephilis just thought it should be cleared up that they knew ways of 'fixing' it and immediate death from it specifically didn't happen then or now. B.L.

So did anyone watch Tom in Standoff? I did and thought he was very good as the bad guy. I wished his part had lasted a little longer it seemed to me that the other crisis situations lasted longer. B.L.

Feedback For Dukes in Double Trouble
B.L. Davenport replied to BoJamesDuke's topic in Round Robin Stories
Glad you liked it Tracy!! We both want to write another one not sure when that might happen though. I can assure ya we ain't gonna kill of anybody next time -
THings returned to 'normal' on the Duke farm and in Hazzard County for those left behind. Luke raced General Lee at least twice a month but realized he had to also pick up the slack on the farm and willingly did so. A few years later Luke married a girl noone ever even thought he'd think about that way. He and B.L. we're married in the little church in town and lived on the back 40 of the Duke farm and raised a family, having 3 kids 2 boys and a girl. Daisy went back to work at the Boars Nest and her social life that had been on hold while Bo had been sick. There were hard days and then there were really hard days the hardest being that first christmas and Bo's birthday because even in adulthood he'd looked forward to both through a child's perspective. But with the helpt of their friends the remaining Dukes got through both. The pain lessened but was never quite forgotten. Daisy married Cooter another match no one ever expected. The couple lived at the Davenport farm and, had a couple of kids of their own and everything was at least mostly perfect for the two remaining cousins.

Luke let his hand fall draped over his knee smiling and whispered back to the walls of the cave if anyone had seen or heard him that is. "Love ya too little bro" Luke sat in the cave another 10 minutes before gathering himself up and getting in the General Lee driving off into the sunset toward the Duke farm. Jesse met him at the door giving his oldest a tight bear hug sensing something different in Luke than he had been hours ago. He was at peace now Jesse could feel it in his muscles and see it in his eyes. B.L. had been ready to make good on her threat to go after Luke to the point of climbing into her car as he drove up in the farm yard. Exiting her car she gave him a hug and then climbed back in the car pulling out and heading home herself it was time for the family to be alone for a while and start putting their lives back together.
-
"I won't forget.........g'bye until we meet up again some day" Luke chuckles at Bo's comment and wanting Bo to be certain he was ok shot his own parting cheeky reply. "I ain't you Bo"
-
Luke choked back a sob listening to Bo's farewell speech, looking at the hand he stuck out his own with the matching scar clasping the transparent hand. "Ya can count on that brother ya always have known everything important and not so important in my life and that ain't gonna change now. We'll still be sharing everything just like we always have just in a different way now."
-
Luke closes his eyes those words ripping the hole in him a little bigger but he now realized he wasn't the only one suffering from losing Bo and it was hurting Bo even in death to see him 'Luke' losing it like had and that was the last thing he wanted was to hurt Bo so he had to gather all his strength now and move on,help Uncle Jesse with the farm like they always had and there was still Daisy to watch out for as well. "I.....I don't want ya to go Bo but I knew ya would have to as soon as ya knew for sure I was ok, and I am I promise ya cuz on my word as a Duke I ain't gonna wallow in my grief or do somethin' stupid. It's gonna hurt for a long time not havin' ya but I'll be ok now.....I.....I love ya Bo."
-
Luke swells with pride he'd alway known Bo looked up to him and even idolized him which usually meant he had to watch everything he did and said, sometimes that could be annoying when Bo was too young to make some of his own decisions. "Thanks Bo that means alot ta me hearin' that but I just don't want to do somethin' now that ya wouldn't be so proud of." *sniffs wipes his sleeve across his nose straightening his shoulders nodding* "I promise cousin I'll keep going, it won't be easy I already know that but I'll won't give up cos I'm a Duke and Duke's don't give up and cos I really got somethin' to live for now if for no other reason than to live out the things you would be doing if ya were still here." Luke couldn't explain it nor did he want to try but he had a feeling of peace and comfort as if Bo was hugging him after a bad nightmare like he used to do when Luke first came home from the war and the night terrors would come and disturb his sleep waking himself and Bo along with Uncle Jesse and Daisy although they never let on but Bo was always there to make it all go away and more than once they'd stay awake the rest of the night and talk.

JOHN SCHNEIDER BUSTED FOR POSESSION!!!
B.L. Davenport replied to daisydukesnumber1fan's topic in John Schneider / Bo Duke
LOL..........Well I've always heard ya spell assume......a** out of u and me guess I shouldn't have assumed the worst. I have to admit it is humorous after the initial shock wears off. B.L. -
"Yeah and my world will never be upright again..." Luke says this in a despondent tone his shoulders sagging in a dejected and exhausted way. It was true his world would never be right again it might get better with time and be only leaning but it'd never be upright again of that he was sure. "Ok" *agrees readily realization was coming to him and he realized he couldn't go on like he had the last three days he had to get over this feeling of hopelessness, Bo was gone and nothing could bring him back* ..... and I'll do my best ta make ya as proud of me as I've always been of you." He still wasn't totally sure he wasn't seeing and hearing things but it didn't matter as long as he didn't tell anyone about it. All that mattered was that 'Bo' had helped him to begin to find peace after the long weeks of worry and then the devastating loss of his baby cousin. *smiles thinking how ironic it was* that he'd always took care of Bo his whole life right up 'til the end but it was Bo's spirit that was taking on that role and doing the counseling and care taking.

Luke nods leaning his head against the cave wall tiredly more tears slipping down his face that he wipes away seemed his dang eyes were a faucet with busted pipes. "I know all that Bo but I can't seem ta stop it.......it's like I have no control over nothin' the world is upside down." *sighs* "Bless B.L.'s lil ole heart that girl should be crazy herself after dealin' with all this especially with me bein' ok one minute and half crazy the next. She's gotta be 'bout run ragged too what with helpin' out at the farm as much as she has,n' workin' at the Boar's nest."
-
Luke swallowed hard then sighed he'd never thought about it he guessed and said as much to Bo. "Don't guess I ever thought about how it was fer those that had went on to their reward, seein' their family still doin' the ordinary daily lives. But then I ain't never thought o' a person still bein' able ta talk with the love ones left behind neither but ya are." Surprising himself Luke looks at Bo with the look and in the same tone of voice a tone he thought he'd never get to use with Bo again. "Ya listen ta me Bo ya ain't got no reason to feel bad ya said it yerself ya didn't have a choice. The way I'm dealin' or the way Uncle Jesse and Daisy are dealin' with this ain't no reason fer you to feel bad!" It was rather strange trying to make Bo see he had no reason to feel bad when it was Bo that was s'posed to be helping him to deal with his grief over Bo's passin"
