  1. I'm always here, Garrett, you should know that. To quote Carl the the janitor from 'The Breakfast Club', "I am the eyes and ears of this institution, my friends."

Last year he was going for the win and teammate Kyle Larson took him out. Hopefully that is a thing of the past and that Chase will win it this year!

  7. Dang it Roger...why you tell me that Hoss was lost or not around. We could have had a wild party and blown up Hazzardnet with our wildness without him. Now we got to cross the ts and dot the i's and not party. What fun is that? Guess I'll just go watch the race... Go Chase Go! In more news...spring training has started for my Cubbies. Baseball + NASCAR = perfect happiness!

    NASCAR news

Well y'all I got some good news and I got some bad news. Good news is that we are racing at Fontana at the Auto Club Speedway. The home track of Kyle Larson who had won the race last year and is favored to win again. Sad news being, is that this is the last race at Fontana. NASCAR has gotten a lot of money out of the land that the track is on...or so I read this morning. But still sad to see such an iconic race track leave the circuit. Of what I read is that NASCAR plans on using the money to promote more fan experience...which is great for all those lucky people who get to go to the races. As for me, it's just another loss of a great track. But I'm just glad it's not Bristol...I'd probably pack my fandom bags and leave at that one. That's my all time favorite. Maybe they can use all that new found money to build another Bristol here in Iowa...;) https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2023/02/24/what-to-watch-2023-auto-club-speedway/#:~:text=What%20to%20Watch%3A%202023%20Auto%20Club%20Speedway As for me...I'm just hoping that Chase Elliott will be in the top contenders and will be talked about in a positive way at the end of the race. LOL. As much as I love the Daytona as it's the start of the season...the real racing starts today!

  9. When I first joined HNet, it used different software, and up where you see the bold, italic, underline, link, quote etc. buttons in the reply window there used to be one for images. You clicked it, up popped a box where you pasted the image URL and you clicked OK or Insert or something like that. All it really did was put IMG tags around the URL. Back then, I could compose my longer posts in a text editor, including images with IMG tags, and paste the whole lot into the reply window. When the software changed, I found that you could paste the URLs directly, although it seems they have to start HTTPS rather than just HTTP nowadays.

  10. Ha, never saw it? LOL haha. Well, I used it like you say but that doesn't work, after pasting the URL nothing happens. I never knew that this forum has an "rocognize and display" option. How on earth could I haha. Let me try, the WB I.D. from WGL24: Oh and guys, don't spread these pics all over the net please. Thanks.

  11. I've been here for well over a decade and I've never noticed that button! Out of the two choices, I'd go for "Insert image from URL", but I just paste the URL directly into the post. The forum should recognize it as an image and display it. Which image host are you using?

  12. Hi, thanks, but that's exactly what I did using the "other media button"

  13. You can only directly upload very small images in the posts. The best thing to do is to use an image hosting site. It looks like Flickr lets you upload 1,000 images for free, but there are many other - just search for "free image hosting". The image host will then give you a link to post the image in the forum.

  14. Warner Brothers indeed had markings on the cars. On the dash or on the speedometer there was a tag, mostly they where red. You can sometimes spot them in episodes. Also the engraving on the corner of the rear window like CDoherty95 mentioned. Also they had engraved wheels from time to time. I have pics from WGL24 I recently visited. I tried to insert them here but I can't get it done. Can someone explain how it works so I can post pics? I press the button "other media", press "Insert image from URL", I paste the URL , press "insert to post" and nothing happens. What's wrong here?

  15. It was a 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu. If you check out my Other Vehicles of Hazzard fanart thread, you'll see my comments about them using two different cars and how they were probably the same ones that played Petey Willis's race car in 'Welcome Back, Bo 'n' Luke'.

  16. Actually, the car is not orange but is red oxide primer. This is Rich Sephton (left) and AJ Thrasher (right) and they are in the process of building the Wheelstander General Lee, which was planned to be used in the very last episode of the Dukes. The producers did not like the fact that you could see a supercharged 440 behind the driver, so they canned the whole idea of using the car and it was never on the Dukes. Rich Sephton purchased the car from WB shortly after the Dukes were finished. Then goes the story of Rich losing the car in a nasty divorce, got it back, lost it again, and so on. AJ Thrasher went on to build roll cages and special effects parts for the 2005 Dukes movie and is now semi-retired. Justin "CornDog"
