I forgot to mention that I went to a local vintage car show yesterday. It was mainly all European models, with a couple of Japanese ones. I think the only US car was a bright red C3 Corvette. There were also about 20 tractors and two old fire engines shooting water back into the river. We had heavy rain on Saturday night, so it was a pleasant surprise that the sun came out for the show. The only downside was that half of these "vintage" cars were around when I was younger - it can make a person feel old!2 points

Hi all. These first couple posts are repeats from my "new Member" thread, but this is where I'll keep posting my updates. I found this forum recently when so many of my google image searches kept bringing me here, usually to one of Hoss's great posts. All of the image searches are because I'm in the planning and early building stages of creating a Dukes rc car chase for my Youtube channel (it's an RC car channel). I just picked up a Kyosho Phazer with a 70 Charger body, so I have a little work to do to convert it to a 69 General. One way that I'm trying to separate my video(s) from those that are already out there is that I really want to make the rest of my props as correct as possible, within reason. This starts with an accurate Sherrif's car. There's virtually nothing out there in 1:10 scale for RC police cars at all, and certainly nothing that's period correct. I started looking for 3d printable options, and although nobody has the 77 Monaco/Fury models that we're most familiar with, I did manage to find a 74 Monaco, which is one of the models used in season one. This print is taking multiple days to print, and will take me even longer to sand, paint, and detail, but it should make for an awesome chase car! In addition to the cars, I want to make a cardboard building or two, and of course, I need to come up with a ramp and something to jump over. Going through this great site is really helping me to come up with some ideas, and hopefully soon I'll have a basic story board put together so I can start figuring out what props I'll need. The cool thing about the props is that they're items that my kids can help me make, so it gets them involved in my hobby. Anyway, if folks are interested, I'll post updates on my progress.1 point -

I saw something today that I have never seen in my life. I kept hearing an airplane but couldn't see it because of the trees. It sounded like it was circling. I got my binoculars and drove in that direction and saw an airplane cropdusting. I've lived here all 62 years of my life and that field has never been cropdusted before. I've never even heard of anybody cropdusting in my area. Even with my binoculars I couldn't see the pilot too well. It didn't look like Amos Stigger, Darcy Kincade or Daisy Duke. Must have been someone from out of town.1 point -

I posted this in 2008 and didn't even think of Miz Tisdale. I was so stupid when I was a kid.1 point -
Hungary for this week's F1, and after a poor start to the weekend on Friday, Mercedes found pace for qualifying yesterday with George Russell claiming his first pole. Team mate Lewis Hamilton was also looking quick, but qualified 7th after a DRS problem on his last lap. Red Bull also had qualifying problems with championship leader Max Verstappen losing power and Sergio Perez not even making the top ten - they started 10th and 11th. George got a good start and led the first 30 laps, but was eventually passed by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. Then Max, who had fought through from 10th, took the lead, and despite a spin, he was able to keep it until the end. Lewis Hamilton waited until later in the race to use the soft tires, and managed to pass George to take second and take a point for fastest lap. George ended up third for Mercedes' second double podium in two weeks. With Charles having to change his slow hard tires late on, he could only finish sixth behind his team mate Carlos Sainz and the other Red Bull of Sergio Perez. Even the promised rain which only arrived on the last lap had no affect on the result. We now head into the summer break with the next race being the Belgian Grand Prix on August 28th. Max leads by 80 points (more than three race wins), but it's getting closer behind. There's only 32 points between Charles in second and Lewis in sixth. In the Constructors' Championship, Red Bull have a 97 point lead over Ferrari, but Mercedes are now only 30 points further back. There's a 205 point gap to the fourth-place team, Alpine, so it'll be between the top three. ETA. Sorry, I forgot to add a link to the highlights - you can watch them here.1 point

I started a proper thread in the hobby area per HossC's recommendation. Here's that thread:1 point -
It's amazing what's possible with 3D printing these days - the Vector wheels look great. I can't wait to see how this turns out. Most of the model builds get posted in the Hobbies forum. Maybe you should start a thread there and either duplicate these early stages or link back here. If you do create a new thread, make sure you post a link to it here so people can follow your progress.1 point

The rear of the car finished printing. Now I just need to print the rear valance, then headlight & taillight lenses and the rearview mirrors. I sized this car to fit on the Fazer chassis, but neglected to take the width into account. The body is too narrow to contain the wheels, so I ended up ordering a 3Racing M4 chassis that's narrow enough to accommodate the body. I'll need to build a longer chassis. Aside from the wheel width, it looks pretty good! Question for the moderators: since this isn't really an intro thread anymore, should I make a new thread in the appropriate forum, or should this thread be moved?1 point

Today I started working on the Charger. I painted the silver on to the Vector wheels that I printed, and I pulled the 70 grill off the body. Once I print a 69 grill and cut the body back to accept it, I think it's going to start to look really good. The patrol car is still printing, but the front half is off the printer and I'm really happy with how it's looking.1 point

The stunt show bikers are the Baxley Sisters Kate & Billie Ann played by Shawn Weatherly & the late Bobbie Ferguson respectively. It's in season 5 called Coy vs Vance. Not a Bo & Luke episode and the robbers in this Coy & Vance show are not twins.1 point -
Depends on who you're fans of. Nascar warned teams at the start of the season that any team caught modifying supplier parts was going to suffer the consequences. PettyGMS Racing was also penalized before the race https://www.jayski.com/2022/07/23/petty-gms-racing-teams-penalized-at-pocono/.1 point
