I used to swap messages and emails about decals with Tim, but we haven't been in touch for quite a while now. If he is still making decals, they're very good.1 point

It's raising, not reins. I loved it when she mentioned Charlie Daniels. On TV I saw when they met and he teased her about knowing the words to all his songs.....which is impossible unless she had a memory like Skipper Duke.1 point -

Late in Season 1 when they switched to the '71 Satellite, they painted it in a yellow to match the original '73/4 Roadrunner. For the RR it had been a factory standard for that particular year, but apparently for continuity (and hoping the fans would not notice the change) they painted the new Satellite in the same shade of yellow as the Roadrunner. Thus it was a non-standard color for a '71 Plymouth of any sort. After much research, and following an online discussion, the color seems to have been "Yellow Blaze." Fortunately Scalefinishes.com, who produces factory-matching colors for auto modelmakers, does carry this color...and when mine arrived I knew from the first glance that I had it right! Once sprayed I left it for over a week simply because I wanted it 100% cured before I began to handle it over and over and over.1 point -

Reminds you of the kids way back when I'll bet!1 point -
When I first encountered boot sales it was in the UK. Maybe once a month in the summer, ordinary people would drive to a field and sell their old stuff out of the boot (trunk) of their car, normally with a folding picnic or wallpaper table to display their goods. You never knew what you'd find as the people changed each time. The one I went to on Sunday is probably about 90% traders in vans, so there's not much variety week to week. I sometimes buy bits and pieces, and it's a good place to get a huge range cheap low-end tools. I think you're right that flea market or swap meet would be your equivalent, although aren't swap meets usually more specialized?1 point

Boot sale? Almost sounds like what we call here in the states a flea market or swap meet.1 point

K folks, it's been a tough end of the school year unlike any other, so I'm finally able to return to the project. Rear tires are slightly larger than the front ones, and going into my spare tires resulted in only mismatching tires of differing sizes. Fortunately I was able to source tires of the same type/appearance and apparently correct sizes from Fireball Modelworks. Fortunately they also fit the wheel rims that a fellow modeler was kind enough to send me. Then the inner wheel hubs had to be reduced in size to fit the tires; had to do this now so as to know exactly how far to raise the rear suspnsion. To make the extensions, I needed something thin yet strong....so just making them out of plastic strip wouldn't do it. They might look the part but they wouldn't support the car past one sneeze. Fortunately I keep unused Photoetched fret, and the slightly thicker part of the metal sprue just might be strong enough, especially if doubled up. The main load will be supported by an inverted, angled "U" shape. The height was kept accurate with plastic plugs. Then the more visible parts of the brackets will be attached to the outside with more metal fret.1 point -
I can believe the queues. A friend and I went to the local boot sale on Sunday (the definition of boot sale varies, but this one has indoor and outdoor stalls mainly filled with traders, but there are also a few families selling off their old stuff). It was a hot day, so I guess a lot of people had the same idea. We had a small queue to get in, but nothing prepared us for the 50 minutes it took to get out of the car park. We didn't even move for 30 minutes. I spent the afternoon back in town chatting to friends over coffee and ice cream and enjoying the sun.1 point

Checked out a new park over the weekend. It was nice besides the noise, It was next to the airport and turnpike. The 180th was out doing maneuvers, those F16's are really loud. Did see a turkey, oriole, rare Karner Blue butterfly and some neat wildflowers. Those rare minutes of absolute quiet besides the birds made it feel like we were way out in the boony's especially considering the parking lot only had two spaces so it must be a rarely visited park. We also went to the farmers market downtown. First time we've been there since our grandparents took us as kids. Omg was it packed, I'm assuming it was because everyone wants to get out of the house and do anything after last year. On the way home we drove by the zoo and the traffic was a nightmare. Even though the zoo's sign said the parking lot was full people were still lined up about a mile in both directions trying to get in. I can imagine the staff there had a long day Sunday. Anybody else do anything interesting this past weekend?1 point

I'm not far behind you, Hobie. It's Saturday morning and 'Southern Comfurts' followed by 'Carnival of Thrills' are on TV in half an hour. I not only have tomorrow off, but also Monday and Tuesday this week (annual leave that had to be taken). I'm not a big drinker, but where you have your European beer, I'm currently half way into a bottle of American whiskey (I know Ireland has many good whiskeys, but I thought I'd try something different), so I may have a sip of that tonight. That only leaves the food element. I had a tasty Chinese takeout last night, but haven't decided what I'll be having later. It's a miserable rainy day here, so maybe something warming and comforting!1 point -
Logan Lucky movie
Skipper Duke reacted to HossC for a topic
I watched 'Logan Lucky' last night and it was fun. I'm not quite sure why they cast an American as the main British character and Daniel Craig as an American, but I'll view the next James Bond film in a new light (if they ever release it)! I checked IMDb after watching the movie and then had to skip through it again to spot all the cameos by NASCAR drivers. There's Ryan Blaney, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson, and Mike Joy, Darrell Waltrip and Jeff Gordon all appear as themselves at the race.1 point -

I haven't been to the cinema for years (I've actually lost count just how many), and so like many others, this movie has passed me by. The trailer (below) looks quite fun, so I'll check it out if I get a chance. BTW, Spike, IMDb says that Channing Tatum was born in Alabama, but none of the other leads appear to be from the South, and Daniel Craig isn't even from the south of England.1 point -
