Just got back from Virginia visiting our daughter and grandsons. She surprised me with an early birthday present....Jon Holland's book Moonrunner's Tale....from grit to gold: How the Dukes was born. I always loved the Georgia episodes and now I will get to learn a lot about how things unfolded before the show even began. This is going to be fun.2 points -

Got our Covid vaccine shots Friday. We were given the Moderna one. Just a sore arm is the only side effect we had though I was a bit drowsy afterwards and Friday night was the best night's sleep I've had in a few weeks. Cat kept bugging me Saturday morning to get up and feed her lol, she finally got me up about 7am. I'm usually up at 5am every morning. I wonder how many other comics are going to apologize for past jokes. I read over the weekend Jay Leno apologized for making jokes about the way asians drive. Sarah Silverman apologized for something or other a few weeks ago. When will they make rappers apologize for using the N word or killing people or raping women in their "music". There's also a children's book being recalled for 'passive' racism, whatever that is, because supposedly it's about Cavemen Martial Artists. So we're coming close to a point in society where everything is offensive to someone but it seems like its ok if it's offensive to straight caucasian religious people./end rant1 point -

Listen I can smell that!" Rosco:"I smell it too!" Boss Hogg:"And even I draw the line on dope and drugs fer any amount of money!" Rosco:"Any amount." I read the first two or three dozen comments under the story in that link - every single one implied that NASCAR is losing the plot and its audience. The one that really made me smile was the suggestion that the only thing worse than NASCAR's penalties was their new website .1 point -

I'm really strarting to worry about free speech. Some of the things people get fined, suspended or arrested for are ridiculous. It's getting where you can't say anything without asking the government's permission to speak.....or in Hamlin's case, NASCAR's governing body. I guess the higher authorities want a bunch of mindless robots to rule over.1 point -

I found the full clip on YouTube: Jeff Gordon - I Get That A Lot The parts store they used was in Atlanta, GA, and the opening shot was filmed on the Freedom Parkway, just under the bridge from here:1 point -

I really hope he wasn't intending to hit Kyle with a hammer...that could be deadly. I really don't know what Steven's intentions were, but hopefully they are dealt with one way or another. Understand being upset at Kyle for wrecking him, but throwing a hammer is taking it to the extreme.1 point -

[quote=Garrett Duke;203922 Well I guess Wallace throwing the hammer at Busch doesn't make Tony Stewart's helmet throw at Kenseth this year look so bad any more. You're right about that. Throwing a hammer is pretty serious. I wonder if he intended to hit him (which could be deadly) or just send a message by throwing it in that direction.1 point -

LOL Roger. EXACTLY.Don't know why he makes such a big deal over his phone...he has better things to worry about out on the track than his phone and taking and sending pictures via Twitter.1 point -

Congrats JG. On a different subject I saw a quote in today's USA Today where Brad Keselowski said he feels naked without his cell phone. Sometimes the younger generation worries me. They're so in love with their techno devices they're more emotionally attatched to them than human beings. IT'S A STUPID PHONE BRAD. PUT IT AWAY AND OBEY THE RULES.1 point -
Yes it is Roger. I had to play along when my grandma called me thinking I was my uncle one time, one of the saddest conversations I ever had. She had her good days and bad days. I feel for my aunt who decided to take care of her instead of putting her in a nursing home. Eventually she had to go to one though.0 points
