if I told my wife that older cars had carburetors and newer cars have fuel injection she'd look at me like I was speaking a foreign language. She's not exactly the mechanical type.
Just FYI, some real places that have played Hazzard had the following populations in 2018 (figures in brackets are for 1980):
14,015 (10,586) - Covington, GA
16,021 (6,567) - Conyers, GA
2,019 (1,284) - Piru, CA
Piru was used in 'Luke's Love Story', 'Officer Daisy Duke' and the 2007 TV movie 'The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning'.
Way to go HOSS!!! You bee dah man!! You deserve every bit of this! I know you've helped me out a bunch! Thank you for all of it!! All I have to say about Brother Roger's post, is +! !!!
So, 2020 wasn't such a bad year after all! Thank you so much, Roger, I really wasn't expecting anything like this. The reason I've hung around so long is the company. I think you were the first to befriend me soon after I joined, and through HNet I've made many other friends around the world since then. There have also been some quiet times here over the years, but it's great to see the place buzzing again and still attracting new members.
Sorry for confusing you by posting in English, Roger! I try to write in 'Merican when I can, but you guys use the wrong words for so many things, like hood and trunk when you mean bonnet and boot, and some day you'll learn to put the other "i" in aluminium .
Some pics of snow on Nascar tracks https://m.nascar.com/gallery/snowy-nascar-tracks-of-the-2020-21-offseason/#photo-1
Would be neat if the drivers would go out on snow mobiles or atv's for a charity race.
CONGRATULATIONS HossC for being elected the 2020 fan of the year!
He was extremely nice and shared some art work for a Dukes project with me a few years ago. I haven't gotten to it yet but eventually will. As Roger said above he is a true Sonny Shroyer kind of person.
I've always wondered that myself Hobie....although I was never clever enough to think of using the high school to figure it out. I'm certain the show never said how many residents Hazzard had. I definitely wouldn't have missed that. My guess would be that the town had a thousand and rural areas had another thousand. Whenever big events happened only a few dozen people showed up but that's simply because it would have been tough and expensive to get that many actors together.
