  1. Intelligent alien life is a certainty so I'm going to draw the conclusion that Strange Visitor to Hazzard is most realistic episode in all 7 years of the series. The only thing that wasn't realistic is when L'il Cousin shot the pistol out of Buck's hand by shooting it with his laser beam eyes. Everybody knows that when an alien's laser beam eyes hit a pistol it makes more sparks than that. This was an embarrassing mistake by the writers.....worst blooper ever. Seriously though, I know what you mean Hobie. I actually enjoyed it a lot this time because I gave myself a little talk and told myself to not take it too seriously. Because I did that, I had fun.

  2. My last post here, made me think, THAT'S the life I would love to have. A simple life, small town, work the farm and grow most of your food and then sell stuff you raise or grow, to buy the rest. This is one of the reasons I love DOH and why I like to " Go to Hazzard " everyday and when I'm waiting in line or around people I don't like, I go to HIMM ( Hazzard In My Mind). Let's face it, in Hazzard, they've got problems, people die etc. but ...well....in Hazzard, it only gets just SO bad.....and no more! Also the people in Hazzard are only the people I WANT to be there!

  3. The first time I heard you describe it this way I remember how much I liked hearing it expressed like that and I have often thought of you when I have taken trips to Hazzard County.

  4. This was a fairly good one but it started reaching into the " Not really possible" category. I mean, it's not really possible to drive a car the way they do and still have it survive but with a few adjustments to the driving, economics ( where do they get enough money for all the gas they burn? ETC.) these things could really happen but NOT this Jeanie stuff! Over all it was still pretty good though!

You didn't see a "black '68 coupe" [sic] in any of the junkyards did you?

    One Word Song Titles

I watch Young and the Restless if I happen to be home for lunch, I'm assuming for nostalgia because growing up I remember at lunch time my grandma would turn that on. It was interesting in the early summer they aired old episodes I remembered seeing with my grandma. It's weird how some things get ingrained into your brain.

  8. When the bad guys talk about "that radio show years ago... that started a riot", they're more than likely referring to Orson Welles and his 1938 "War of the Worlds" radio broadcast.

    NASCAR news

What a roller-coaster race for George Russell. He started second, but took the lead by the first corner and kept it for most of the race. Then a safety car triggered a rushed pit stop where Mercedes put a mixed set of tires on his car, some of which should have gone on his team mate's car. He made a second stop to fix the problem, and was making his way back to the front when he got a puncture when he was just over two seconds off the lead. He again fought his way up the field, but with so few laps left, he could only manage ninth place. Nevertheless, he scored two points for the place and a bonus for the fastest lap, which are his first F1 points. Ironically, the incident that caused the safety car was a spin by Jack Aitken, who was driving George Russell's regular race car. Still, I think he proved himself today, and hopefully it won't be long before he's in a more competitive car. BTW. George wasn't penalized for the tire error, but the team were fined €20,000.

    The last 24 hours

Went junkyarding today to get a rim for the wife's car. Apparently one of the potholes around here bent one of her rims bad enough that it has a wobble in it. I figured I'd save a bit of money by going to one of the two local pick your part junkyards. But here's the catch that I didn't know about, you have to remove the tire yourself and bring your own tire irons as well or pay for the tire no matter even if the tire is bald. The local pick your part junkyards price the rims about $15-20 less than the regular junkyards but once you add the price of the tire I ended up paying $10 more than if I would have just called one of the regular junkyards Monday. So keep that in mind if you visit your local pick a part junkyard. Other than paying for a tire we'll never use it was a fun visit to the junkyard and seeing what was there. Seen a few really nice cars there that would have made a nice project for someone and probably could have made some money on since the body's were rust free.
