  1. Hey everyone. I'm Dani and I'm new here and am a huge fan of the Dukes Of Hazzard. I'm a country gal and proud of it. I own every single season of the Dukes Of Hazzard and recently began rewatching it from the beginning of the series. My favorite Duke is Bo Duke and I love John Schneider. I'm currently working on saving money to buy myself a horse. Some of the things I like doing are working with my grandpa out on the farm, horseback riding, reading, writing fan fiction, roleplaying, watching tv and much more. I love making new friends so if you'd like to get to know me better and want to know more don't be afraid to ask.

    The last 24 hours

I stuffed myself so much on Thanksgiving, my stomach is still reeling from it today . Gonna try and get the Christmas decorations up today. Got a pack of birch branches and an outside lighted garland I'm going to wrap around them and put out the lighted porch tree and decorate our potted pine tree since it grew to about 4 and a half feet tall this year. Looks like it's going to be last nice weekend to get outside stuff done as Monday looks like we're going to get the first big snowfall of the season. One forecaster says we could see double digit totals but I think he's blowing it out of proportion. Have a good weekend.

  3. I'm hearing it as "Slavonian", but either way I'm guessing that the writers were going for a generic fictional communist state for the bad guys to be from. Like "Urbekistan", that begs the question as to why they were so close to the name of a real place. In 1983, Slovenia was still a Yugoslav republic, and didn't gain independence until 1991, but it would've been on maps!

  4. I'm glad they didn't rely on national stereotypes for the Irish episode! It's likely that the leprechaun spelled his name Sean rather than Shaun as it's the usual Irish spelling (I didn't check to see if there were closed captions). As I've posted previously, the police car and police station would have "Garda" on them and not "Police" (it's the shortened form of "An Garda Síochána"). The Irish accents were even worse than 'Wild Mountain Thyme', and it's not like America's short of people with Irish roots! Did you notice that the guard talking to Daisy in the first prison scene had a black mustache and helmet at the start, then a brown mustache and no helmet, then he was back to a black mustache and helmet. BTW. The Gardai don't wear helmets - they're a very British thing!

  6. I finally remembered to watch the interview that Brian posted (thanks for the link, Brian). Just over halfway through Tom mentions that he does 'Trouble' from 'The Music Man' as a duet with John. For those of you that don't know, the movie version of 'The Music Man' was filmed in Hazzard Square, aka. Warner Bros' Midwest Street. Here's a screengrab from just before starts; on the left is the River City Bank (Boss's Bank), Jim Griffith's is where the barbers shop was, Ewart Dunlop (Staple and Fancy Groceries) takes the place of the Hazzard Theatre and finally the pool hall that causes all the 'Trouble' would become the pharmacy. The County Building, church and other familiar stores are also visible during the song.

  7. I seen something in the newspaper about Waylon's family releasing some of his never before heard music sometime soon. Since my computer skills are bad, maybe somebody here can find it and post a link with more information. It sure would be cool to buy Waylon's new album. It's been a long time since I've done that! Waylon lives!

  8. This story has me smiling. For the last 10 years I never thought I'd say... "I'm going to buy Waylon's new album" "I'm going to buy Waylon's new album" (Sorry for repeating it but it's just so fun to say) *smiles*

  15. Just a quick update. Here is the link to the show. Tom's on the bill, but there are no specifics on the day(s) he will be there. Tom's own website does not yet show this event, but they'll probably get around to it soon. http://www.cantonhotrodshow.com/carshow.nxg TimDuke, I hope they have your General there. I'll probably miss this gig as I'm usually buried under a half-ton of snow that time of year.
