Skipper Duke's Reunion Movie Reviews
RogerDuke reacted to Skipper Duke for a topic
The Dukes of Hazzard Reunion(1997). It was 12 years ago at this time since the final episode of the Dukes aired on CBS. The characters went their separate ways. Bo went back onto the NASCAR Circuit. Luke became a smoke jumper for the Forestry Service. Daisy went to graduate school getting a P. H. D. in Ecology. She married a slick romeo named L. D., but it didn't work out. They divorced, and he got a job driving the bus for The Chick Weeds a Country band. Enos has returned from L. A. now a full fledged detective. Cooter became a Congressman for GA. Uncle Jesse is in trouble, and wrote to the 3 younger Dukes to come and help him out. Boss Hogg has passed away. Rosco is now Sheriff/Boss/Commissioner. He inherited everything in Boss Hogg's will. Cletus is now Chief Deputy. Big time city real estate developer Josephine Max aka Mama Max has offered to build a Hazzard County theme park. But needs access to the swamp and has to go across the Duke farm in order to get to it. So a sporting wager takes place, the General Lee vs. Double Zero(00) in an Overland car race with both cars loaded with moonshine in the trunks. Prize is $1,000 if the General Lee wins and Mama Max will drop the lawsuit. If the General Lee loses, it means Uncle Jesse gives them access across his land to the swamp, and the theme park will be built bringing jobs to the community. But Mama, her son Rikker & his/her thugs have plans to stop the Dukes from winning the race, including using a decoy Double Zero(00) equipped with an illegal super turbocharged racing engine, and kidnapping Daisy, who's in the middle of planning her wedding to Enos. Cooter takes Bo & Luke to find General Lee. They restore him back to his former glory, after thinking Cooter's friend Red Perkins accidentally had the General crushed with old junk cars Cooter gave him when Cooter went to Congress and Red took over Cooter's Garage. Meanwhile, Daisy goes to a fight to cheer her friend Bertha Jo Barlow. Bertha doesn't wanna fight, cuz her opponent is her fiancee Bubba. They hide her out at the old abandoned Hazzard Cotton Mill. The building was formerly the Hazzard Coffin Works in the original series. While the race takes place, Daisy is making her wedding dress. The bad people tell the town "Daisy has the flu." But she continues on with her wedding plans. She even gets Mama's boys to help her. Meanwhile, they have hired outlaw race driver Cam Cutler to drive the 2nd Double Zero(00) that Buzz Kilroy owner of the original swaps with him, after pulling into the woods. They place a tractor in the road to stop the Dukes. The Dukes of course jump thru a barn and continue the race. Earlier, Cam & Rikker had made the Dukes flip over during a test run after emerging from Cooter's Garage. Uncle Jesse is worried about the boys winning the race fair and sqaure because "When you start actin' like yer enemy, what makes you any better?" The Dukes develop a plan to save Daisy and still get back in the race. Bo and Enos drive in the race, whilst Luke rescues Daisy. The Dukes win the race in spite of Mama and her boys best attempts to keep them out. Daisy-s ex husband shows just when she's all set to marry Enos. Earlier, Daisy found a fern in Hazzard Swamp. Mama Max had her kidnapped because she thought Daisy found Gallium Arsenide Ore. Rosco outsmarted Mama Max and actually conned her the whole time that she thought she was conning him. He reads Boss Hogg's memoirs to everyone. Bubba & Bertha Jo fought the guys at the Cotton Mill earlier, to help rescue Daisy. Now they are getting married instead of Daisy and Enos. Daisy saw L. D. and wasn't ready to try marriage again. A sad ending for poor ol' Enos. But all is well in Hazzard County otherwise. The Dukes of Hazzard Hazzard in Hollywood(2000). The Dukes, Rosco, Enos, Cletus and Cooter are back. Uncle Jesse has now passed away. Toby Keith sings a Hazzard Hoe Down with his hit Jackie Don Tucker. There is all kinds of activities in town. Including an ol' fashioned Rattle Snake sackin' contest, which Bo enters and wins. This time they travel to Hollywood to raise money to build a Hazzard Hospital. Along the way, they are shot at by mysterious unseen people. They shoot out the tire on Rosco's RV and when everyone stops, they shoot out the spare tire on the back of the RV too. Bo figures out they're bein' shot at. Daisy wonders if they're in Montana. Luke says "Nah. They're better shots." Cooter rolls out a spare tire from Cletus's truck for Rosco's RV. "Mighty thin spares Rosco! I've eaten donuts with more tread than this." lol. They fix the tire, and continue on to Hollywood. While out there, Rosco gets money from a Chinese loan shark named Sharon who's a former girlfriend of Enos. Meanwhile, the Governor Ros and her assistant Lois have crushes on Enos as does his fellow L. A. P. D. officer Tammy. Enos has to stop an armed robbery of a store. Turns out it's Cullen a friend of Enos's who's "Just a foul ball lost in tall weeds." Cullen gets hauled into the station, after bein' introduced to everyone by Enos. Everyone thought it was Enos's day off. Cooter says "Does everybody out here know his day off?" lol. There's lots of chasin' and action as the Dukes have to escape crooked record pirates and the Russian mob etc. Meanwhile, the Dukes rescue a kid who's bein' ganged up on, after chasin' and losin' the RV which was stolen from their campsite. The Russians want the tapes. The Dukes trick 'em with blank tapes. They escape. The Russians give chase. The Dukes end up in Mexican neighborhood. They meet Cipreano and his sis Gabby. Bo falls in love with Gabby after she sings a Mexican song at a block party. Romance blossoms between them. Rosco gets robbed by a guy named Patch and an accomplice of Patch's. Earlier, Rosco met Freddie the Ferret who took him to a bank, where he had to use an ATM machine. Then they went to Sharon "The Shark" for the money which Patch and a partner stole. Luke is excited about seeing his ex girlfriend Anita Blackwell who made it big in Country music after they split up. But sadly for Luke, she's married now. More chases happen with more escapes. The Dukes finally get the tapes back that were stolen when the RV was taken. But the RV gets chopped up at Tiopacko's Chop Shop. Nothing was in it except in the words of Tiopacko "Pizza cartons, trash and a sack that wiggles and rattles. But I did not open it. No." The Dukes make it back to Hazzard without incident. Toby returns for a big ground breaking Hoe Down like he promised. Luke's ex girlfriend Anita comes to the Hoe Down too. Another happy Hazzard ending.1 point -
Skipper Duke's Reunion Movie Reviews

I'd say that they're more like synopses than reviews, but you capture the main points of the plots. A couple of bits of trivia wouldn't go amiss, and a few paragraph breaks would make them easier to read. Always consider your reader when you're writing! I've corrected the prize money in your Reunion! review as requested.1 point -

Can anyone identify any of the bows used by Bo and Luke? I'd really like to match the exact brand and model if possible.1 point -
We had a brief discussion about them back in March. Bo's is a Martin Warthog and Luke's is a Martin Cougar II. The original thread is here.1 point

Does this mean we have to start respecting him? Because if we do I'm moving on to a different website. Seriousely though, congratulations Hoss. It is a promotion well deserved. HazzardNet is good hands with your high tech skills.1 point -
Happy 20th Birthday to HazzardNet!

Guess who turned 20 years old on January 11th? Completely slipped my mind. I started HazzardNet on 1/11/1999. I want to thank everyone who has helped make HazzardNet what it is and who've stuck with me all these years. I know I haven't been around much lately due to health issues and stress from work, so I'm incredibly grateful so many of you are still here keeping the spirit of the Dukes alive.1 point -
Happy 20th Birthday to HazzardNet!

I hate to ruin that last post by saying something bad about the HazzardNet but this needs to be said. I just clicked on Meadowmufn's profile and the Community Reputation listing said "Excellent". Either this listing is 1) manipulated by the webmaster 2) a result of a hacker 3) given by people who don't really know Meadowmufn that well. Either way this problem needs fixed and "excellent" needs to be adjusted to "ridge running troublemaker".1 point -
Happy 20th Birthday to HazzardNet!

I really don't like technology that much and I'm really not interested in it so I wasn't even using a computer for anything in 2007. I remember talking to someone who was surprised I didn't like computers (or cell phones either. In fact, I still don't have one.) Anyway, they told me that a person could find anything on the internet. Of course my first reaction was "Even the Dukes of Hazzard?" Later someone showed me how things worked and found the HazzardNet right away. I was thinking to myself "I thought computers were good for nothing but now I see that they're good for onething." Since 2007 I have joined 4 other forums but either quit them or am not active on them or do very little on them so when I say the HazzardNet is the best website on the internet I mean it. I mean this too.....I've only had 5 heroes in my life. The Good Lord, my grandmother, Uncle Jesse Duke, Charlie Daniels, and Meadowmufn. I don't even know what two of my five heroes look like but I don't have to in order to love and respect them. So MM, you have my love, respect and infinite gratitude for what you did 20 years ago, and even more so, what you have done the last 20 years to keep it all going. Most of the friends I have made here have moved on. I miss them but will always treasure what we had. In the meantime I treasure my active HazzardNet friends even more since they have been as loyal as I have to the greatest website on the internet, founded by the greatest Supreme Superior Commander the Cloud has ever known.1 point -

I upgraded a few of you into Veterans tonight. If you've been here a few years and have a good number of posts under your belt, PM me and I'll upgrade you too. If you're a newbie, stick around, you'll get there. "Boss, I can't just go 'Poof! You're a veteran.'" "Go 'Poof!' or you're fired!" "Poof! You're a veteran!"1 point -
The Chat Room Is Back!
Skipper Duke reacted to Meadowmufn for a topic
Yes, all options go to the same chat room. I'll add some more rooms later. I'm taking suggestions for names. I figured Boars_Nest would be better than the generic "Lobby". I've been busy doing a lot of "behind the scenes" work on the site, stuff that won't necessarily be visible, but should hopefully clean the site up a bit and improve user experience and search rankings. Right now I'm working on some more visible stuff, the chat room, fixing icon colors and forum colors, etc.1 point
