Let's just theorize that someone has a family member who has been diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer. Would it be possibly for that person to donate part of their liver to the cancer patient? I've read that the liver can regenerate itself, and that the success rate is above average, but I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm or elaborate on this. Thanks.

Hi y'all.* Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I've been really busy with school exams and studying and things like that. I'd just like y'all to take a minute to remember a teacher who I had last year who unfortunately passed away the other day. Orlaith Donahue, was my religion teacher for part of last year. She had finished her teaching degree in 2011. It was always her dream to work in Terenure College, where I go to school. She had extra Irish classes with one of the teachers in the school, and was passionate about religion and teaching. Her dream came true over the summer months of 2011, when Orlaith was offered a permanent job as a religion and English teacher in Ter…

It's Thanksgiving here in America and most Americans would agree that we sure have a lot to be thankful for. Of course not everybody on the HazzardNet celebrates because not everybody here is American. There's this feller named HossC who lives across the Big Pond from Hazzard County. For those of you who don't know your geography, that's so far that not even the General Lee could make that jump. Hoss might not be from America but his heart is in Hazzard County Georgia like the rest of us and we're certainly thankful for him and all his contributions here on the greatest website on the internet....and his contributions are MANY. So many in fact that he has achieved legend…

This is Troy. We adopted him today! He's a yellow lab/basset hound mix, looks like he might have a little beagle thrown in. We call him a labradasset. LOL. He's certainly living up to his basset heritage right now. He's been snoozing most of the day after bringing him home. Probably all that stress of being in a shelter and traveling. He's a very mellow fellow, very cuddly, and so far, very quiet. He's made himself right at home on our old couch and he's welcome to it. (I think he's already figured out he's going to get spoiled.) I think Flash would certainly approve of this little guy.

Somewhere amongst the 168,000 posts in this forum is a birthday thread for Val. I'm sure of it. But alas! I cannot find it, so I'm starting a new one. I know we don't see much of you now, Val, but you're still thought of. Hope you have a great day! How 'bout some chocolate cheesecake to celebrate? Boy that looks good all nice and big and detailed like that.... YUM... Khee!

It's been a rough week. We lost our dog Sadie suddenly and unexpectedly this week. She was the light of our life and to say we're devastated is an understatement. As Jimmie told me, there are no words in the English dictionary or anywhere else to describe the pain of losing a dearest pet, and he's right. We're simply lost without her and the house seems so empty. No whining when it's time for dinner, no tail wagging when we get home, no howling at the doorbell when someone's at the door. Rest in peace, baby dog. We miss you so much.

Hey y'all One of my friends recently asked me to go with her to her debs (the Irish equivalent of a prom). We're really close and have both agreeded not to become boyfriend and girlfriend incase we end up fighting and falling out. Anyway my problem is that I won't be 18 when the debs is on. We both thought that the age wouldnt matter, but now the parents association and venue staff are saying that all people under 18 must be out of the venue by midnight. Apparently I'm going to be one of the only if not the only 17 year old there (most will be eighteen and a half, some even nineteen). We first started jokingly saying that I should get a fake id of some kind, but now it…

Hey y'all. I was cycling home from my friends house earlier after staying the night. The route I take is about 5 miles, and I travel on a main road, a few country roads with grass in the middle and a rutted track. It was raining hard, and I was probably going a little too quick for the conditions. Anyway I was going down one of the country roads when I clipped a pothole with my rear wheel. This caused the back end to slip and spin, and I ended up with the General Lee's front wheel and forks resting in a muddy ditch. Initially I had trouble breathing, but I just assumed that I was winded. However when the winded sensation didn't go away I started to get worried. I called …

Years ago Hazzardnet had an official Birthday Thread going but I don't know whatever happened to it... So I think it's time to start a new one! Of course we all know last week was our favorite Deputy's birthday, and we did have some fun wishing her a happy birthday on the thread set up for it, but why do we need a new thread every time someone wants to wish someone a happy birthday? Today we have two birthdays to contend with. Those birthdays are: HazzardE4, who has turned 24. We haven't spoken, and he/she doesn't seem to post much, but happy birthday none the less. K-Duke15, who has turned 15. She is a new friend of mine, and seemingly a good writer. I quite enjoy talkin…

Idk, but just like the Duke family (sorta)...my family is more hot tempered and stubborn to give up, but from my dad's side, Irish, Danish and Cherokee rule on that side, on my mother side is Irish and Mexican...But on me father's side, it's a strong bloodline, the Hoods are one tough cookie type group, but the men act like lions (protecting family from rivals and loving their family), while the women act more like bears (protecting their children and loving their family)...thats the best way I know to describe my family...tiz me dad's side is related to Princess Diana and Elvis Presley...soo ya....lol My family are the type to not call 9-1-1, they grab a gun, but they ne…

Hi y'all. I was browsing HNet earlier and noticed threads dedicated to the late Dale Coenen and Glenn Call. Some of you may have known them. Unfortunately I joined HNet too late. I've read about Dale on CGLFC,and he sounded like a really nice, kind, considerate, caring person. I haven't been able to find out too much about Glenn, but from what I could find he sounded like a true Duke fan. Caring, helpful, putting others before himself, and jovial. I was hoping that, instead of letting these 2 great Duke fans fade into the background,we could come up with a title for them. I was thinking that it would be based along the lines of the Fan of The Month,or Hazzardite for Life. Or m…

As we take that pause for reflection between grocery shopping and Christmas shopping that we call Thanksgiving...I thought it'd be a good idea to share what we're thankful for. Share as much, or as little, as you'd like. Who wants to go first?

I tried to start this on another site but the writers were a bit to sensitive and took the ideas displayed there as an insult(even though I said from the start that nothing was directed at anyone). This was done by a fellow writer in another fandom and all of the writers really had a great time doing this. I know that all of us have read stories in the past that we just knew that the characters would cringe at some of the things that we writers have them do. So, let's let each person write a small note in the voice of the character of their choice speaking to fanfiction writers about what most go off the course or put the characters in a light that just isn't them. I…

Is it just me or does it seem like we're drifting apart a little bit here on the HazzardNet? I suppose it's only natural. Families tend to do that in these busy times. But it's about time we reversed the trend. Starting Thursday Sept 1st we are going to be holding a monthly chat room meeting to keep better in touch. It's not going to be easy considering we have folks in Europe and folks on the United States Pacific Coast but we just can't sit back and see ourselves drift apart like we've been doing. I'll post a reminder a couple days before every month's end. Then, on the first day of every month, I'll be in the chat room at 7:00 pm EST hoping to talk to some of my Hazz…

Link - New England Dukes Website Link - Paul Harrington's tribute to Glenn I met Glenn, his mom, brother Edmund at 05 Dukesfest through another DOH friend. Saw them and Edmund's kids at 06 Dukesfest. Amazing family to spend time with, I wish everyone could have meet them all! My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as they deal with the loss of their loved one. RIP Glenn.

About ten years ago, I came bounding onto the HCSD, with my pigtails and ranger hat on. Today, I rarely make a peep, and many know why. I have a good reason for my silence however I have and will never truly leave. Recently this past June, I got married and I now live with my spouse. We are happy and had a beautiful wedding. All the while before I met him, I came here, to Hazzardnet. I met a wonderful group of friends. I wrote Dukes of Hazzard fanfic with many of them. We all became close. I still call many of those folks my friends and they have given me so much friendship and love over the years, even in the time that I started to pull away from the computer and started…
