I'm having trouble. I can't get into the new posts on the latest posts, New Posts section. When I click it, it takes me to a blank page. I can't see the latest board. I have no problem getting on to any other part of the site! It must be a glitch in the system!

Just an FYI, I'm in the process of moving inactive forums to Hogg's Heavenly Acres, a read-only section where old forums will be preserved, but can't be replied to. If a forum ends up there and there's a thread in it that you think is worthy of reviving, let me know and I'll move it to another appropriate active forum.

I've posted this thread also down in her own character section, but John has reported on his twitter that Peggy Rae, the wonderful woman who brought Lulu Coltrane Hogg to our screens so many years ago, has passed away this week. 'Dukes fans out there mourn the passing of the delightful Peggy Raye this week. Lulu Hogg made millions smile. She's in a better place. John' My condolences and i'm sure many others go to her family and those friends that were so close to this wonderful lady.

Folks, we started having performance issues with the server two days ago. I've had to restart the server multiple times. I've been trying to run down the issue and I think I've narrowed it down to the database. I put in a tech support ticket several hours ago because it's not something I can fix on my end at this point. There may be intermittent down time until the issue gets resolved. I receive emails every time the server goes down, so there's no need to email me if HazzardNet is down. Thanks for your patience.

Hey, everybody. Sorry for the downtime today. The datacenter the HazzardNet server was in lost power while they were doing UPS maintenance. They had to migrate nodes to new servers due to filesystem corruption. I think HNet got through it relatively unscathed with minimal data loss, but if you notice any posts missing, that's why.

Now that we have a new forum and can do such neat things as add smilies and avatars easily, I'm putting out a call for folks to nominate and/or submit smilies and avatars for inclusion in our forums for everyone to use. One good place to find smilies is http://www.mazeguy.net. If you find one you like there, simply click on it, copy the code they provide in the box above the list of smilies and post it in this thread for us to take a look at. I am in the process of making some avatars for everyone to use. If you're graphically inclined, feel free to offer some of your own creations for others to use. Obviously, we don't want to go too overboard with smilies and avatars, s…

The current version of the forum software will no longer be supported by the end of the year. I'm planning on upgrading to the next version before then. I'd like all your input on when the best day of the week/time I should do it and do you think a) the sooner the better or b) wait until later ? Looks like it will overall be a better experience and it looks like they have a mobile app too.

I'm going to be doing some Spring cleaning around here, so if I break anything, let me know. 😂 Also, if you have suggestions for topics or forums that no longer serve a purpose and should be deleted, post links in comments here. (Or PM me!)

Just a heads up, folks. I'm seriously considering switching to another forum platform and am currently investigating alternatives. I will, hopefully, be making the change sometime in the next week, so there may be some intermittent forum downtime. I want to provide a better experience, including mobile, for everyone and the current software is not as flexible as I would like. If you have any suggestions or would like to provide some input, feel free to post here or PM me.

Okay, it was time to panic for awhile because I managed to pull a Rosco with my only workin' computer. Yes, I crashed it into a tree. I'll explain later. Anyhow! I got another county-issue computer goin', and maybe now I'll get that newsletter done. Really. Honest. Soon. Keep yer fingers crossed. Brian

For workin' triple overtime to restore HazzardNet, after the most horrendous crash we've had in our history. You took the place from smoking ruins, to business as usual , in just about 24 hours, give r' take. You gave up your holiday, along with a good deal of sleep, to do it. Sometimes I forget - or take for granted - the technical side of this place, until somethin' goes wrong. HazzardNet has survived hostile attacks by hackers, it has survived MaryAnne, ( j/k ! ) and it has survived server disruptions and hardware failures. Thank you for the ongoin' work you've put into the machinery here...for several years. It's been too long since I've said it...but you ar…

Hey, folks. That chat room is back! And this time, you have an option to choose Java, Flash, or Mobile/HTML, whatever works best for you. How many of you would be interested in doing a monthly (or more frequent) chat where we all cue up our Dukes dvds and watch an episode and comment on it together in the chat room? If y'all are interested, one way I've found that works well is for people to sign up for a certain day/time to host a particular episode and they'll be in charge of kicking the viewing off and perhaps adding little tidbits of trivia about that episode and the cast/crew. Let me know what you all think. I think this would be a great way to get HazzardNet busy ag…

A while back BoJames had a great idea in which we put a pre-picked episode in the DVD and hit "Play" at the same time and chatted about the episode while we watched it together. I was wondering if anyone would want to get together at 9pm (EST) on Thursday and watch a Lulu episode together while we hung out in the chat room talking about it. We'd have to decide which episode to watch. There's 5 of them listed on the "Favorite Lulu Episodes". Considering the title "Lulu's Gone Away" that would seem like the obvious choice. Personally I'd rather watch something more upbeat and fun like "Sadie Hogg Day" where Lulu was Boss.

Would anyone be interested in having episode watch parties? I can't promise any sort of frequency, but I would love to re-watch the series again with you guys. If you're interested, comment with the days of the week and times that are best for you and I'll try to schedule something that works for the majority. I might be able to schedule a second viewing for folks across the pond. I would also like some volunteers to test things out with me on the website we'll be using.

Folks, several people have been signing up with inappropriate and destructive links in their profiles. To stop this behavior and to protect our membership, I have decided to disable website links in member profiles. I realize this is somewhat of a penalty for those of you who have websites, but it is needed to prevent our membership from getting viruses from these sites and to protect those of our members who are minors from stumbling onto some incredibly disgusting and inappropriate websites. The latest batch of new member profiles had links to sites that were riddled with viruses and trojans. Tactics like these are usually done by outsiders with no interest in sticking …

As some of you may have noticed, the site was unavailable most of yesterday. There was a major outage in the datacenter for my webhost, affecting thousands of sites. Things have been resolved, but you might experience some residual connectivity problems until things settle.

Brian posted a pic today on Facebook of the General Lee jumping with the caption "Happy Humpday" (since it's Wednesday). Well, one of our Facebook fans, Dawn, being the Dukes of Hazzard fan she is, corrected us. It's Happy JUMP Day! I don't know why Brian didn't think of that. It's what I pay him for. LOL. Anyway, we hereby decree that from this day forward, all Wednesdays shall henceforth be known as JUMP DAY! Yeeeeeehhhhhhaaaa! Not yet a fan of our Facebook page? I've decided I'd put together an all-purpose suggestion thread here so on the rare occasion that any of us actually do any work around here, we'll have an idea of what you'd like for us to improve. So, what would y'all like to see here at HazzardNet? We do have some guidelines... 1) It has to be feasible both financially and in terms of our collective skills. 2) It has to be something that can be accomplished in a month or two. We have short attention spans. 3) I'm sure there's something else I wanted to put here, but... well, refer to #2 about the attention span. So, ask away!

Don't know if anyone on here knows yet,but Whitney Houston passed away yesterday She was found unresponsive in her Beverly Hills hotel room, and despite 20 minutes of resuscitation she was pronounced dead. Police say there's no sign of foul play, and the coroner has yet to perform an autopsy. R.I.P Whitney, you will never be forgotten.
