The General Lee

Discuss the General Lee

  1. Started by Captain D,

Are there any DVD's out there, or websites, that have behind-the-scenes stunts of the Dukes (especially w/ the General)? I've seen the 2005 movie extras, and a few various websites, but nothing that really discusses the stunts n' jumps in detail and behind the scenes. Does anyone have any really good, in depth, websites, videos, ect? Thank you for any replies! Aaron dunnsville_va@yahoo.com

I heard that on every General Lee jump, the General had some kinda weight in the trunk. How much weight would they have to put in the trunk to prevent the General from flippin?

  3. Started by HossC,

I found this whilst looking around the web, and can't see another mention of it on HNet. An artist created his own 'General' by glueing over 4000 model cars to an old Ford Capri. Being British, he put a Union Jack on the roof instead of the traditional confederate flag. General Carbuncle

Hey y'all. Before you click off this thread, assuming I'm building another unique bike, hear me out on this one... This is a General Lee, with a twist! Let me start off with this link. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3158386/1969-dodge-charger This is blues musician Kenny Wayne Shephard's General Lee, or "Xtreme Lee". I saw a show which documented the build process of this car, and it includes an interview with Renaud Veluzat, one of the original General Lee builders from season 2 to season 4. Kenny's Lee was modified and altered from the standard General Lee. The graphics were done in such a way that it looked like they were peeling off, the whole car was lowered, the push…

  5. I just now noticed that on the back of the General, there are two flags, the rebel flag, and a checkered flag, crossed... Random, but I realized that watching One Armed Bandits the other day! Awesome!

  6. Hello friends, I am very happy with the new news. In 2007 he reached the border of Argentina read a beautiful overall very good condition, unfortunately, because of legal problems or poor human inteción was kidnapped and forgotten in a government bonded warehouse. Only in the last month was recovered by the owner and taken to 280km from my house, yet I could not see because we are restoring but come the big day ........ It is said that Argentina was now general lee of a family of new jersey, he was transferred in a small trailer car several meetings in the region. Does anyone recognize him?? is it folks, I leave this story photos, hugs from Argentina. , ,

  10. Started by HossC,

I spent the day at the All American Car, Truck & Bike Show in Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath. American cars are pretty rare here (there's a '65 Mustang I've seen around a couple of times, and there's a guy about 10 miles away with a Dodge Ram pickup), so to see so many in one place was great. There was a good turnout of Mustangs, and I'm sure MaryAnne would have liked the dozen or so '70s and '80s Trans-Ams. Obviously the highlight of the day was finding a General there. I spent about half an hour talking Dukes with the car's owner, Gary. He told me that he knows of one other General in Ireland, but that might be it. I know several HNet members have their own Generals, so t…

  11. Has anyone heard about this? NHRA Drag Racer Bo Butner painted his car like the General Lee. It's a Camaro body, however Bo Butner is a huge Dukes Of Hazzard Fan. In fact his name is James Butner but he changed it to Bo when he saw the Dukes Of Hazzard. Here's a link to an article about his 'General Lee'. http://www.foxsports.com/motor/story/nhra-the-general-lee-dukes-of-hazard-las-vegas-102816

  12. Started by HossC,

I've been watching 'The Masters' golf tournament for the last couple of days, so my mind was already on Georgia and unsurprisingly Dukes. Then tonight they've been showing a lot of Bubba Watson, so I went to Google to see what he's been up to since his recent purchase. I found the following video of Bubba showing NASCAR driver Carl Edwards around LEE 1 and even taking him for a spin: I also found a slideshow of Bubba talking with golf commentator David Feherty that includes some pictures of LEE 1. There's meant to be a video of the interview that includes The General, but the website just gave an error when I clicked on the link. If it becomes available again I'll post …

  13. I found some info on some of the remains of chargers used in the show: Watching these episodes, several Dodge Chargers were driven/jump into Canals -- never to be seen again. The waterways on the Warner backlot are considerably deep (up to 35 feet). Research has uncovered that these cars likely remain in the bottom of those canals today (about 8 Generals Lee total: throughout the original run of the show). http://www.moviemopars.www6.50megs.com/doh/general.html I wonder how many squad cars are in the canals...

  14. Hi everyone, I am new here I just thought I would stop by and say hi! as I just bought a complete 1969 Dodge Charger this past Tuesday it has sat in a garage for 17 years and still has its original red paint and very minor rust which I can repair ( I own a Towing & Automotive repair shop) and I am a Mopar freak through and through! Car is a 318 A/T car and I will be putting a 440 RB in it (have 5 of em' lol) Anyway since I have been 5 years old the General Lee has been my dream car and I will be making this General Lee as close to the Lee1 car as possible (although I like the wider pushbar instead of the narrow) but all said Im pretty excited! It was very reasonable I…
