Yes, Southern Ireland swapped to KPH just over 10 years ago. There was a time when I first moved here that speed limit signs were still in MPH, but road signs had distances in kilometers, which was strange.

Even though we're in KPH and kilometers, I still tend to automatically convert to miles because that's what I grew up with. Also, I have no idea what a good fuel consumption figure is in liters per 100km - MPG makes a lot more sense to me (once I remember that a US gallon is about 3.8 liters while a UK gallon is just over 4.5 liters).

There none that I know of where they drive to a racetrack. the most familiar one sound like Season 7 Episode 6 'The Dukes in Hollywood'. The scene starting at 17:20 where they drive into the studio. Bo is driving with daisy and Luke Next to him. Boss, Rosco & Flash are in the back and the guard asks who is sitting in the back to which Luke replies with 'Thats J. D. Hood and Rosco Coltrane'. Then rosco repliad with his P.
Kamryn's post did now show up for me in the Latest Posts tab.

From what I heard when MPC originally released the 1/25 General Lee they couldn't find the correct 1969 hood and interior bucket.  It was released with a 1970 hood and a stock car interior bucket.
When MPC released the Charger 500 kit they found the correct 1969 hood.  The 1969 hood tooling was misplaced again so the General Lee kept the 1970 hood.

When I built my MPC glue kit General Lee I located a 1969 hood from a Charger 500.

Here's the chassis, suspension and exhaust, weathered with wear 'n' tear, and even some rust at appropriate places. Much of it will be covered/disguised by the road dust to be sprayed on last. Once installed, the edges received some orange overspray, indicating a home-done paint job.

The wheel hubs are from the old MPC General Lee kit. Chrome removed with bleach, then heavily sanded on the rear until the five openings were actually opened as they should be. Then primed, sprayed flat black, and detailed with aluminum paint. Not chrome. Those bits are shiny, but not quite chrome, with the possible exception of the lug nuts.Tires sanded with fine sandpaper and fine steel wool to remove the shiny vinyl "toy" look.

And, even the CB antenna; scratchbuilt styrene base, with a bit of High "E" metal guitar string.

Not really, but it feel Cooter is supposed to be a little older than Bo & Luke.

That's Barry Van Dyke (son of Dick Van Dyke) with Cathy. He played Brock Curtis in the season 7 episode 'The Dukes in Hollywood'.

I just got the truck back from the body guy yesterday.  As you can see, it got new cab corners, the cab marker lights were taken off and holes filled to match Cooter's truck, and the various side mirror holes in the doors were filled as well.  The driver's fender is rusted through at the bottom and has a few small dents in it, but instead of fixing it, I am tossing it and will be bolting up a NOS fender.  I have ordered my sander and spray guns, the project will continue to be worked on as time allows.  I hope to have it painted by the end of June at the latest, then have the bed put on and painted by July 20th or so.

I think we'd pretty much narrowed down the location of the State Courthouse/Central City General Hospital to roughly that area, but it's great to have it confirmed, especially with all the extra information you provided.

How did I miss the Glass Building? It's right across the street from the studios! Here's a recent Streetview image. Even with the trees it's still recognizable.

That'll be Carlene Watkins, and I agree. Here's a collection of screengrabs from 'High Octane' which I've previously posted elsewhere on HNet. I'm sure no one will mind seeing it again .

My vote is for the MediaWiki option. I think that making the wiki a separate resource would work better (hazzardnet.com/wiki or similar). If you can't make the single sign-on work, we can always use the same username and password that we have on the forum.

Personally, I'm not that bothered if it looks like the rest of the site - most wiki-style sites I read just look like Wikipedia, but HazzardNet customizations are very welcome.

It would probably be best to initially restrict editing access to Veterans, at least until the templates and main pages are in place. After that, it could be opened up.

We'll have to discuss the rough form of the pages when the great opening gets nearer. For the episode pages, I'd suggest: Brief plot (a couple of lines), Detailed plot (a couple of paragraphs), Cast/Crew, Trivia, Goofs, Quotes and Locations. Did I miss anything? We can have a page for each actor and character that requires one, and pages for important places like the Boar's Nest, Duke Farm etc.

    Thats the song California Gurls.
Basically she talks about daisy Dukes as the shorts. Shorts just wouldn't sound right in the song, and everyone knows Daisy Dukes!
"California gurls, we're unforgettable. Shorts, bikinis on top. Sun-kissed skin, so hot, we'll melt your popsicle. Oh oh oh oh."
It just doesn't sound right that way.

Funny you should mention that... I have tinkered around with MediaWiki (what Wikipedia runs on) on the site and may still have it installed in a directory somewhere. If not, I can always reinstall. If you guys are interested in adding some content to the site and sprucing it up a bit, I'll look into getting a wiki ready and 1) seeing if I can tie it into your current logins or 2) if not, getting some sort of secure login so we can make sure the wiki isn't spammed. Perhaps we should move over all the content about the episodes, trivia, etc, from the WordPress install to the wiki and just keep the blog at the root of the site for updates and current events.
Let me know what you guys think.

...I'm new here so hello everyone!

    Right, a quick introduction:
The first time I came across the Dukes of Hazzard was in a cardboard box of old die-cast cars. Not the most interesting but please bear with me!
I was gifted them from a cousin who thought he had 'outgrown' all the toy cars. (What a silly boy, one does not 'outgrow' toy cars!) I accepted them gladly and after a quick rummage, I discovered only two cars I couldn't place so promptly went to ask my Dad.
Well, it just so happened that one of those cars was an orange Dodge Charger and I think you can probably fill in the rest! I became a Dukes of Hazzard fan at the age of 13 and have held the Dukes in fond regard ever since.
I was browsing the internet and stumbled across this website again and was amazed to find I'd never registered before - how remiss of me! Of course, this is me rectifying that glaring error on my behalf!

    To summarise:
Hello everyone! I probably ramble on too much but am looking forward to chatting to like-minded Dukes fans!
    (It's a good thing I don't actually own a CB radio - you'd never get a word in edgeways!)
