I know it's probably a bit different since instead of mentioning the Dukes it was actually made for the TV movie from 2007 (I know) but the song Duke Boys Swingin' with John Anderson and Cowboy Troy is a really good song. Cowboy Troy's bit actually describes the show perfectly.

ABC News showed a snippet of his interview after his last race where he said each win was special because you never know when it will be your last. Chilling.

I’m over a month late to this but I just made my second visit to cooters in Luray on May 1st. I was passing through anyway so it was a perfect stop to eat and rest. It was my first time trying the restaurant but it was amazing. Unfortunately all the events were happening at the Nashville location but it’s always an awesome visit. I’m exhausted as well we did 3,000 miles.

Jesse is really excited about this race. He has never been one to embrace technology but is making an exception. After Rosco caught Elon Musk in the celebrity speed trap, Jesse and the boys broke him out of jail and in order to return the favor, Elon agreed to fix up Emma's dirt bike and convert it into a technologically superior racing machine that is only programmed to dominate races. It simply cannot lose. Unlucky for Emma though she broke her collar bone jumping a 60 foot wide creek two days earlier so asked Jesse to take her place. Filled with confidence that technology and AI simply cannot fail, Jesse was already daydreaming about that kiss Emma was going to give him in the winners circle.

Sorry, I'm a little late with my Miami Grand Prix summary, but the result changed slightly after the race, so it worked out in the end. As before this season, Kimi Antonelli didn't get the best start, and was passed by Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, although Max almost immediately had a spin which lost him several places. In the opening laps, Kimi briefly retook the lead before Charles got it back, and then Lando Norris took second from Kimi. As that was happening, Isack Hadjar hit the barrier and Pierre Gasly flipped over before landing the right way up. Both drivers were fine, but it brought out the safety car. When the pit stops came around, Charles had a slow stop which slipped him back a little. By about the mid-race point, Kimi got past Lando and Max (who'd pitted earlier). In almost a mirror of Max's first lap, Charles had a spin on the last lap and lost a couple of places. At the checkered flag it was Kimi in the Mercedes in first for his third win in a row. Behind him were the McLarens of Lando and Oscar Piastri ahead of the other Mercedes of George Russell. Max fought back to fifth, and the video linked below shows Charles ending up in sixth, but a post-race penalty dropped him to eighth behind Lewis Hamilton and Franco Colapinto. The race highlights are here. There's now a 3-week gap until the Canadian Grand Prix from the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal.

F1 is finally back this weekend with the Miami Grand Prix, but I'll post about that later. First, I read the sad news earlier that Alex Zanardi died yesterday at 59 years old. The Italian driver spent a few years in F1 before moving to the US where he won the CART World Series in 1997 and 1998 with Chip Ganassi Racing. After that, he had another brief stint in F1 before returning CART. In 2001, he lost both legs in a terrible crash in Germany, and survived for nearly an hour with less than a litre (under two pints) of blood left in his body. Undaunted by the injury, he returned to various forms of motor racing., but it was racing handbikes where he really succeeded once more becoming a four-time Paralympic gold medallist and 12-time world champion. There was a minute's silence for Alex Zanardi before today's Miami F1 sprint race. There's a full article at bbc.com.

An excellent suggestion by cousin Roger, was to start a new thread for the annual race this year! I thought...YES! That's an excellent suggestion! I'm going to smoke cousin Roger! No matter what he says! I've invented a new engine for the Moonshine mauler! It uses gas or shine equally well! I'll be communing with the spirits, while running the race and if I start running low on gas, instead of a pit stop, I'll save/make time, by pouring shine into the tank without having to hit pit road. You guys don't stand a chance! I'll have the most powerful engine and not have to make pit stops either! I'd like to see Garrett beat me this year!! Ha!! He better get a move on! I'm also going to use a special kind of shine that gives a racing engine extra kick! I'm going to watch that episode where Jesse uses Shine to beat a female revenuer......help me out brethren....what episode/year is that....you know name, episode, year etc.??? I'm lost! .....Cut me some slack....I lack to never found my way off the track last week while I was practicing!! ....so I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer!

Growing up Dale Earndhart, Jr was my favorite. When I played the NASCAR game most recently I played as Danica Patrick for the fact she was a girl but never saw her race. The one I really like to root for now is Frankie Muniz.

Hobie finally sees his chance and he floors it and takes a big swig of his special shine! He's starting to feel it but that's ok....he's passed Meadow, Roger and somebody that....looked like Hoss?? Anyway, he isn't going to let Garrett's surprise move take him out of it! Hobie puts the heel to the steel and passes everybody....but...he's feeling it and starts coughing....and ....his allergies start acting up. He has just passed Garrett ( he owed the guy one for beating him last year! ) He doesn't know how much longer he can hold on to the lead, now that he's got it. ......

In the meantime, Emma had given up on tech too after her computer blew up along with the one hooked to Jesse's dirt bike. Since there was no way she could use her remote control back up, she hopped on her other dirt bike and started down Iron Mountain, hoping to make it to the finish line before the race ended. She knew Jesse would need consoling after what he had been through.

Jesse got up to speed on the dirt bike but was way behind everybody. All he could see was a cloud of dust. He knew Hobie was somewhere up there, along with Skipper, Garrett, Hoss, Meadowmufn and everybody else but had he no idea who was in what place. All he knew was how embarrassed he was that he trusted technology. He had always taught the kids that simplicity is always the best policy and here he was, a full grown man who got taken in by the shiney new toy of technology. Now was his chance to prove to himself, Emma and the rest of Hazzard that races can be won on nothing but skill. And in his day, Jesse was the fastest motorcycle racer in North Georgia.

Jesse noticed Hobie slowing down and was insulted. "I don't need no charity! I was the dang fool who trusted all this tech garbage!" He looked up on top of Iron Mountain and noticed a puff of smoke. Emma's computer must have blown up too. Lucky for Jesse, the heat from the explosion melted the plastic fasteners and the charred computer fell off. "Good! It's just me and the motorcycle. Just like the old days with me and my '38 Silver Streak. Now it's time to catch back up. Looks like Skipper is way ahead now that Hobie slowed down"

Hobie looked back at the commotion caused by Jesse and his buddy Elon and decided to be a good sport, so he just smiled and waved at them while he slowed up to wait for them!

OK folks......the racers are starting their engines and the crowd is going wild......maybe from Jesse's Shine....?? ....anyway....Hobie is at the starting line with The Moonshine Mauler and he has a tankful AND a snoot full!! There no way cousin Roger, Hoss or anybody else is going to beat him! .... AND THEY"RE OFF!!! Hobie is throwing up mud and chunks of dirty with his knobby tires and is flying down the straightway of the starting line! I don't see anybody even CLOSE to me and I'm making good time, wth my Mauler !! This might be an easy win! I'm about to open my 3rd beer in a min. and crank up some Marshall Tucker on my stereo!

I have an astronomy club meeting Saturday evening but you can start without me at 7:00 central time. I'll catch up later that night. It doesn't really matter anyways because with the technologically superior Muskcycle Jesse couldn't lose if he tried so we all know who is winning this. Besides, the race might only be one Hazzzard evening but we always stretch it out to a few evenings in HazzardNet time.

hazzard ZOOM meetings are in cars, not on computers.

Watching out for it should be pretty easy. It will be the only competitor pulling a yacht. It's pretty hard to miss something like that. You don't see it every day.

I just added a new type of fuel to my Moonshine Mauler! It's mostly made of shine and it makes a car go twice as fast! I'm going to try to market it as Uncle Jesse's Gas Treatment!

None of the likenesses are great in that game, but that deputy looks more like Burt Reynolds and doesn't sound like Cletus.

Well I know Daisy will kiss me at the end and ride around the track with me on my victory lap1 I was hoping Garrett would be coming by for the start of the race but if he doesn't show until later, it's up to him, to make up the distance! I guess we can start it tomorrow! Make sure everyone knows on the CB.....broadcast it! We'll start out at the Boar's Nest, as usual and then circle the track ( about a mile around) and see who ends up at the Finish first! ( At the Boar's Nest of course!) It's only a 400 lap and not a 500 lap race.....I'm not sure certain people can keep sober for 500 laps! LOL!!

Hobie already got a kiss from her as he took off from the starting line! ( That's in case his kiss with Daisy doesn't happen! ) I gave her a Moonshine Kiss......she likes my Moon recipe, says I make THE best shine! NOW!! A little more prep on my machine and on with the race! Maybe I shouldn't have given Emma a Moonshine kiss.....1. NOW I'll need to concentrate on winning the race and... 2. watching my back for Cousin Roger's Revenge ........Cousin Roger's Revenge.....sounds like one of those Sat. evening shows down at the movies!! 3. Emma might like my shine so much she becomes an alcoholic!

I missed it...but my Chase Elliott did win it and I was and still am excited about it. He's a great road racer so I am hoping he'll go for two in a row!

Well....I'm here at the starting line and I'm gunning my Mauler's engine, to warm up! I'm about to take off and I'm waiting on everybody to show up! I'd hate to win by forfeit! LOL! It looks like I may not have to worry about Garrett beating me this year......don't know about the rest of you! I got Daisy and Emma on my side! LOL! ( Roger doesn't even know....or have a clue! )

HEY!! Somebody needs to holler at Garrett and tell him the race is going to be in about 24-26 hrs....!! That's why I'm working myself to death getting my Manifolds re-worked and my over head cams cleaned!! I might let you guys know more about my special fuel additive later on.....when it's too late to do anything about it! Ha! Ha!! I'm putting in new plugs and air filter and even a new oil filter!!!

Yep And you aren't going to believe what I have planned. You will never guess. Okay, I can't wait. I have to say it. I'll be on Emma's postal dirt bike but she is going to be operating it remotely on top of Iron Mountain where she can see the entire race. Ain't no way anybody can beat me and her when we team up. I have to give you credit Hobie with your buttermilk comment. I thought it would be fun to have a buttermilk in each hand so you inspired me by saying I was racing with one hand. I'm taking this to the next level. You might have noticed I've been delivering the mail in my truck lately. That's because Emma has been at Elon Musk's house these past couple days and they are working on the bike. I have to admit I am a little concerned. She is quite a catch. I hope he doesn't get any ideas and try to steal her from me.

Although I use my phone to check HNet when I'm out of the house, I make well over 90% of my contributions from a laptop. The ability to easily switch between multiple tabs and multiple sources, and having an actual keyboard to type on means that I can't imagine getting nearly as involved with smaller devices. Roger, I don't know how big your tablet is, but I'm sure the larger screen benefits your viewing of photos and videos.
