Because I'm still close to the UK, I'm usually identified as English, and that's fine with me (although I didn't celebrate St George's Day on Thursday!). My nationality is British, and that's probably how I'd be known further from home where people aren't so familiar with the differences between the Home Nations.

  5. Hey y'all. I've been around here and there, just not logged in. Sorry to abandon y'all. I saw my name and it caught my eye. LOL. Thank you for remembering me. Sounds fun! Though I haven't been on my computer as much as I was a year ago, so I may not be able to post as much as before. I'm always ready to extend my winning streak.

They're virtually unknown over here, and so far I've only seen them at this show. The guy goes by the name 'Cranky Yankee'. I've just checked his Facebook page, and apparently he'll be closer to where I live a couple of times over the summer.

Why Are The British So Eccentric In War? That's the question posed in this video. It tells the story of why you can always make tea in a British tank, and of the soldier who went into battle in Operation Market Garden (the failed attempt to take the bridge in Arnhem as dramatized in the movie 'A Bridge Too Far') with an umbrella.

  25. NASCAR is at my favorite track today! It's Bristol, baby! (Darrell Waltrip use to say that.) Anyway, it's a track I've been at. Not for NASCAR, but when the Dukes had their Dukefest there. 28. I've just checked out their website - luraycaverns.com - and they're very impressive. One thing that confused me - if they were discovered in 1878, why does the tour guide wear an 18th century costume (I'm quoting the video)? That would date from at least 79 years before the caves were discovered!

  30. We went down to our daughter's in Winchester Virginia Thursday (home of Patsy Cline) but didn't really have any plans to do anythjng in particular. We go there at least twice a year and have pretty much done everything in the area but had never been to Luray Caverns. (It is unbelievable!) When we were leaving I remembered that Cooter's was somewhere near there so my daughter looked it up and we were only 7 miles away! We didn't stay long because I was the only person of 6 who was interested but it was incredible. I almost want to call it a spiritual experience but that bothers me a little to use that word since I believe in God but that place is definitely Hazzard Heaven on Earth. I am going to keep an eye on the schedule and go down again next time they have a big event. I hate to travel but who knows what will happen to the place after Ben passes on to Hazzard Heaven so I definitely want to go back for something big. BTW Ben wasn't there. He lives 45 minutes away though. I tried to get some people to join HazzardNet but see they haven't yet. I am still in awe over Cooter's. You would think that you couldn't top something like Luray's Cavern. It is one of the most amazing natural wonders on Earth. But Crazy Cooter pulled it off just a few minutes later.

Doesn't really matter what time to me. Thank you for all you do MM. As a low tech person I have no idea how much time you have put into this labor of love since 1999 but I am sure it is an unimaginable number of hours. It is appreciated and you are loved.

I might be gone for a bit pretty soon before too much longer. It's been accidentally dropped a few times and the plastic case is busted up and won't sit flush anymore and the screen is now coming off too. All along the right side and across the bottom. I may be temporarily out of commission pretty soon. Probably cheaper to just get a new device than trying to repair this one? It's time for a new one anyway. I have storage issues and functions are not working properly. It takes I swear like 50 million times to delete or archive chats before it'll do it now. Is it true? Am I supposed to upgrade after 3 years? Judging by the way this one is acting now, and the impacts it has absorbed, it is definitely toast?

Kimi Antonelli took his second pole position in a row as the Mercedes cars continued to be the team to beat at this week's Japanese Grand Prix. They may be quick in qualifying, but other teams are getting better starts, and Kimi slipped to sixth with Oscar Piastri making the most of his first start of year to take the lead. Oscar and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc made early pit stops, but lost out when their rivals got to do their pit stops under a yellow flag brought out by Oliver Bearman's crash into the wall. The new rules this year have led to a lot of yo-yo overtaking, and the front three teams now seem to be fairly evenly matched in race conditions. At the checkered flag, Kimi took his second win of the year to become the youngest leader of the championship. Oscar was second with Charles in third. Their team mates repeated the pattern with George Russell fourth, Lando Norris fifth and Lewis Hamilton sixth. Max Verstappen qualified 11th and only recovered to eighth. You can watch the race highlights here. In the Drivers' Championship, it's now Mercedes, Mercedes, Ferrari, Ferrari, McLaren, McLaren. The debate about the new rules continues with a meeting set to take place after the race. While we're getting a lot more overtaking, the 50-50 power setup with the electrical energy means that cars are dropping speed before the end of long straights because they're saving/harvesting energy. Understandably, the drivers and fans don't like this. They have plenty of time to sort things out as due to the previously mentioned war in the Middle East, the next two races have been cancelled, costing F1 an estimated $100 million. That means that the cars won't be out again until the Miami race weekend starting on May 1st.
