I'm currently midway through watching a box set of a British sitcom called Hi-de-Hi!. It's about a holiday camp in the late-50s/early-60s, and was originally shown between 1980 and 1988. By a strange coincidence, less than 24 hours after Roger's review, the episode I'm watching has another reference to that scene in "It Happened One Night". When two staff members have to share a room, one of the others says, "Did you ever see that film with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert where they have to spend the night in the same room?". Another person then names the movie. The episode of Hi-de-Hi originally aired about a year before 'Close Call for Daisy', so maybe "It Happened One Night" was popular amongst script writers in the 1980s (on both sides of the Atlantic).

She luckily didn't lock her car keys in her car otherwise it would've been about a 2 hour walk for me to get to her work . I managed to get some stuff done at home. Re-roped the cat scratcher for another year of scratching, cleaned the windows, snaked the bathroom sink drain and caught up on some comic book reading in the afternoon before the clouds came in around 5 pm. Feels like winter this morning, got down into the 20's overnight brrr. Forecasters say we might have another mini heat have at the end of next week with temps possibly getting into the 70's again. Cool you got to see an eagle couple perched together while kayaking.

How did this turn out Spike? We got the roof finished today. I even had time to go kayaking later. I saw two bald eagles perched right beside each other. They've gotten to the point that I wouldn't consider them to be rare around here anymore. Still, I still get a thrill every time I see one....or two,

I have had a really sucky 8 months and it is one of the reasons that I haven't been around to post or even read the site. My mom passed away due to complications from surgery due to late stage 3, early stage 4 Cancer. I haven't even continued writing the sequel series to the ORIGINAL that I was so hopped up on last year after that abyssmal 2005 whatever it was...However with a little better writing, I think the cast of "The Beginning" with the exception their choice of Cooter, could pull off a new "series".
