THE DUKES OF HAZZARD: THE HOGG STRIKES BACK (Working Title..LOL)
EXT. COUNTRY ROAD - DAY
A MAN, mid-forties, is standing on the edge of a dirt road. He looks left and right and steps out into the road. The roar of a car engine startles the man. THE GENERAL LEE roars around the bend. The man jumps off the road.
The Man shakes his fist in anger and steps out into the road again. A police siren fills the air and a POLICE VEHICLE roars around the bend. The man jumps off to the side again. When the dust settles, he’s jumping up and down, yelling.
THE BALLADEER (V.O.)
Welcome back to Hazzard County. Lots of things have
changed in the last year.
INT. GENERAL LEE - DAY
Camera freezes on BO and LUKE DUKE.
THE BALLADEER (V.O.)
You remember the Duke Boys, Bo and Luke? Well, Rosco finally caught them and had them arrested for running illegal moonshine.
(WHITE FLASH)
EXT. COUNTY COURTHOUSE - DAY
BLACK AND WHITE
Bo and Luke are being led up the steps of the county courthouse in HANDCUFFS, escorted by a smug looking ROSCO P. COLTRANE.
INT. COUNTY COURTHOUSE - DAY
(MOS)
Bo and Luke are sitting at the defense table, listening to BOSS JEFFERSON DAVIS HOGG present his “case†against the Dukes. COOTER DAVENPORT sits behind them for moral support.
THE BALLADEER (V.O.)
Of course, since no jury in Hazzard would convict the Dukes, Boss Hogg brought in his own jury.
The Jury members sit in the box, listening to the statements being made by Boss Hogg.
THE BALLADEER (V.O.) (CONT’D)
Con men, Cattle Rustlers, Thieves, and just about anyone who could be bought. Rosco issued them with fake ID’s and local addresses to allow the jury team to select them.
The JUDGE beckons the JURY FOREMAN forward. The foreman hands the Judge a piece of paper....(To Be Continued)

I'm Gone...

Beau and Luke are tried, put on probation, but basically free. Boss still wants them behind bars, so he sends Rosco after them. Rosco is injured in hot pursuit. Sheriff Little takes up the slack. At Rosco's welcome back party, someone shoots Boss, and frames the boys. All the other Hoggs come crawling out of the woodwork, looking to get a piece of Boss' action. Huey Hogg, Louie Hogg, and Jamie Lee....heck even Big Daddy and Abe Lincoln....But you know Abe, he's just concerned for his twin brother. The boys manage to clear themselves with the help of a few surprise visitors to Hazzard. Y'all stay tuned now, ya hear?

Just an awful script,
Didn’t make much sense,
Changed everything ya saw
From the Duke Boys to the Law
Boss Hogg was so thin
Making us curse,
Swear, shout, and coerce
Our fellow Duke fans
To stop this from traveling the lands
Making it’s way
From Coast to Coast
Disregarding everything
That made Hazzard the most.
Just an awful film,
It was such a disgrace
It caused the Broken Lizard
To hide their face
IN SHAME! (YEEHAW!)

Hmmm. Now I have made several posts in other forums, but I wanted to re-post the bottom portion of this since it does relate to the idea of a new series.
Since we are talking about a remake, let's take a look at past remakes of favorite shows.
Battlestar Galactica: Awesome and lasted 3 years longer than the original!
The Bionic Woman: Flopped
Knight Rider: Flopped. Although I did like the last few episodes, once they closed the SSC, and it was just the 4 core actors, and the resurrection of FLAG. But too little, too late to save the show.
The Dukes of Hazzard 2005 and The Beginning: Flopped HARD
Now onto a new version of the Dukes. I believe that it should be a mix of the old cast and new characters, such as Beau and Luke's sons, or even (and I know I will get hate mail for this) Coy and Vance's son's. That way they can call Beau and Luke "Uncle". I really liked the Charlie Daniels idea for resurrecting Uncle Jesse.
As for a new car...Have you seen the new Dodge Challengers? (I know I'll get blasted for this too). But since the new Chargers look nothing like the original, I would be willing to see the new Challenger sit in.
Now I have written synopses for at least 13 episodes of this series, which I am calling "The Dukes". Of course if it ever got made it would probably change back to the original title. If anyone wants to read the synopses, send me a message.
Now on to the repost. I created a "teaser" screenplay, for a commercial to promote the new series. Here it is.

The GENERAL LEE jumps a dry creek bed.
BEAU DUKE (V.O)
YEEEEE-HAAAAA!
The HAZZARD COUNTY SHERIFF CAR tries to jump and smashes into the opposing bank. Sheriff Roscoe steps out of the vehicle, shaking his fist.
BALLADEER (V.O)
Ooh. Looks like more business for Cooter.
FADE OUT

Welcome back Y'all; to Hazzard County.
EXT. HAZZARD COUNTY SQUARE - DAY
LOW SWEEP
All is peaceful and quiet. The blast of the Dixie Horn fills the air. The GENERAL LEE 02 drifts around the corner being chased by a Hazzard County Sheriff's car.
The General Lee 02 speeds out of the town square still being chased.
BALLADEER
(Chuckles)
Y'all buckle up and hang on now, hear? The way I see it, the more things change, the more they stay the same...only in Hazzard County.
ANNOUNCER: The Dukes return Friday night at 8pm EST.

I have had a really sucky 8 months and it is one of the reasons that I haven't been around to post or even read the site. My mom passed away due to complications from surgery due to late stage 3, early stage 4 Cancer. I haven't even continued writing the sequel series to the ORIGINAL that I was so hopped up on last year after that abyssmal 2005 whatever it was...However with a little better writing, I think the cast of "The Beginning" with the exception their choice of Cooter, could pull off a new "series". If any of y'all are interested to hear about my plotlines, send me a message.
