HossC Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 I'll take a word from the beginning and add a couple at the end: Quote

Meadowmufn Posted January 27, 2012 Report Posted January 27, 2012 Half Way Up - Clint BlackHard times seem to have a corner on youBut you can rise from the ashes tooWhen I'm on my knees and everything has gotten me beatAnd even I believe I'm never gonna find my feetTwo ways, you know, you can ask anybody aroundOne man's half way up is another man's half way down(This one really speaks to me. Been a rough year!) Quote
Meadowmufn Posted January 27, 2012 Report Posted January 27, 2012 - Norah Jones (love her cover of this Tom Waits song) Quote
MaryAnne Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 Take the Long Way Home - Supertramp(This was the only album version of this song I could find. I like the penguins tho'. Khee!) Quote
HossC Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 (This was the only album version of this song I could find. I like the penguins tho'. Khee!)It's very hard finding good studio versions of Supertramp on YouTube - I also like the penguins . Quote
Capt_Redneck Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 Here is cover of a song originally done by the GREAT Robert Earl Keen. My opnion is that Joe Ely's version is the better one. I love the music arrangement better than the original. The Party Never Ends!!!!!!!!! Quote
Garrett Duke Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 Love this group/song. They were awesome to see live in concert! Quote
Garrett Duke Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 "Stop it Girl" New Kids on the Block Quote
HossC Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 Not the easiest song to sing, as proved by Lee and Lance in a classic sketch from British comedy 'Harry Enfield and Chums'. Now I keep adding the "bings", "bangs" and "bongs" into the original when I hear it . Quote
HossC Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 I was deciding which song with the word "Girl" in the title I should use, then I remembered this one had "The Word Girl" in the title : From the album 'Cupid & Psyche 85'. Quote
HossC Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Alex, you're meant to keep at least one word in the song title the same, not the band.I Say Nothing - Voice of the BeehiveI can't believe that it was about 20 years ago that I saw this band. I was sorting through some stuff recently and found a huge poster that I'd bought at the gig. Quote
Meadowmufn Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 - Billy Preston (one of my faves... left us too soon) Quote
HossC Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 From the album "I Started Out with Nothin and I Still Got Most of It Left". In another thread I suggested this guy as a possible new Uncle Jesse. He already has the beard and his tour bus is an old van with a wood stove in the back. He also has some interesting guitars; one only has one string and another is made of two hubcaps welded together. I would say that it's a shame he doesn't play country, but when he plays blues this good, why complain? . - Billy Preston (one of my faves... left us too soon)Thanks for this one Mufn. The only Billy Preston track I have is the very funky . I must search out some more. Quote
Meadowmufn Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 Thanks for this one Mufn. The only Billy Preston track I have is the very funky . I must search out some more.As an aside (because this doesn't fit in the context of the game), here's another one of my favorite Billy Preston songs... I got a story, ain't got no moralLet the bad guy win every once in a whileLOL.Incidentally, Billy played with the Beatles and was only one of two artists to ever receive joint credit on a Beatles single. He's often referred to as the Black Beatle or one of the famed "Fifth" Beatles. Quote
Capt_Redneck Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 (or )Sorry Mufn' but back to the game.... Quote
HossC Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 All Along The Watchtower - Jimi HendrixNow I've listened to this I'll have to watch 'Withnail & I' again . Quote
