dukes65 Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Lets take a survey for all duke fans and bandit fans. Which car does the best bridge jump The bandit or the General. Lets hear from you. Quote
GENERAL CHARGER Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 Hardly a fair comparison considering Bandit only jumped 1 bridge while the General's jumped a couple dozen. Quote
Julieduke Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Hardly a fair comparison considering Bandit only jumped 1 bridge while the General's jumped a couple dozen. Now wait a minute that bridge wasn't really planned and he did a good job. Quote

RogerDuke Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Not only is he a much better jumper but the General also has personality. In addition, he is the most recognized car in the history of the world. Quote

Julieduke Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 Julie why would you bring up Herbie. The question was asked about bandit or general lee. My vote for general lee.I'll pick General Lee then. Quote
daisydukeXenosstrait Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 i vote for the General all the way!!!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D Quote
JerryD79 Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 The Generel Lee for sure. The Trans Am was fast and a beautiful car but has no where near the class of the General. Besides, if I am not mistaken, I believe The General has logged 10 to 15 times more air time the the Trans Am has. He does it with more grace and style. I don't recall hearing a Johnny Cash song written about that T/A either. Quote
Hobie Hartkins Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 (edited) The General all the way!! I bet he could outrun The Trans Am too!! Edited August 23, 2015 by Hobie Harkins Quote
Roth Potter Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 I'm more of an american Muscle car fan then an american sports car fan so Charger all the way. Quote
Spike Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 Well now the Bandit Trans am and other late 2nd gen Firebird/Trans Ams have joined the 1968-70 charger in the unobtainable price range Crazy Money Turning ‘70s Pontiac Trans Ams Into $100,000 Cars With Burt's going for $550,000 Burt Reynolds' Trans Am sells for $550K at Barrett-Jackson Roth Potter 1 Quote
Hobie Hartkins Posted February 17, 2016 Report Posted February 17, 2016 It amazes me how much money the General or The Bandit pulls down! I mean these were two of my favorite cars/shows, but come on! These two cars were NOT exotic, with specialized engines etc. ( Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. etc.).....they were just cars with big engines ( muscle cars) that got VERY popular! When you pay that much for one, all you're doing is paying for a specialized paint job!! Take away the show you saw either one of them on and take away the paint job and all you have is a regular car that's very old now and it wouldn't sell for a fraction of the price!! ( The General is my favorite though! :).....wish I had one!!) Quote
RogerDuke Posted January 12, 2017 Report Posted January 12, 2017 Our local movie theater is going to rerun some of the classics on the big screen. Smokey and the Bandit is one of them....in fact it's the only one I cared about on the list. Quote
Roth Potter Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 Thats cool! If only they did stuff like that here. I'd go to watch a classic on the big screen! The theaters here some rooms still have reels for the videos. Quote
RogerDuke Posted February 5, 2017 Report Posted February 5, 2017 At the Erie (Pennsylvania) Auto Show this weekend a Smokey and the Bandit car was the main attraction. It makes me sick that the General has to be in the shadows and shows will no longer have it. At least us Dukes fans have the satisfaction of knowing it is still the most famous car in the world and will be so in our lifetimes. Quote
