Hobie takes a slight lead and then......wait! There's a car in the distance barreling down the track! It's really sporty, sleek and fast!  Who.....? Wait! There's a big sticker on the top of the windshield.....it says.....WHAT???

                                                                                      MEADOW MUFFN! !!   

Meadow is gunning for Hobie and she doesn't care who she runs over  on her way to the finish line! This is a shock! I haven't seen her during the whole race!

Meadow is gunning for Hobie and she doesn't care who she runs over  on her way to the finish line! This is a shock! I haven't seen her during the whole race! 

But wait! Skipper hit a bump and several life jackets fell out of the Minnow. Most of them landed right on Meadowmufn's windshield. Her view is blocked and she went off the track. She hasn't crashed but has briefly come to a stop. She then used her wipers to clean the life jackets off the window but has dropped way back before getting back in the race. Looks like she doesn't have a chance now.

Garrett is in disbelief as Hobie takes a short lead before he regains it and sees an unfamiliar car approaching before being slowed down due to what looks to be life jackets. "Thanks for the save, Skipper," he slightly smiles as he gains more of a lead over the field.

Jesse comes around the final corner and looks at the long home stretch to the finish line. Garrett is in the lead. Hobie is right on his back bumper. There is a gap between Hobie and third place Skipper. Emma Tisdale is neck and neck with Jesse, now quite a ways behind Skipper. 

This thing will be over soon folks. Unless something changes dramatically Skipper will finish 3rd. But 1st and 4th are anybody's guess.

[Garrett Duke]

Garrett allows a bit of excitement as the finish line comes into view several feet ahead. He glances behind to see his competition momentarily and as he looks ahead he hits a bump and cusses out loudly and regains control of his car. With the finish line coming he feels his passenger tire going flat. Frustrated, but not giving up, Garrett pushes the gas pedal farther down to force his car to go faster in hope of making it to the finish line ahead of everyone else.

Watching from behind, Jesse sees Hobie take advantage of Garrett's misfortune and pull beside his car. From Jesse's view it looks like both cars crossed the finish line at the same time. The checkered flag waves. It appears Jesse won't know the winner until he finishes the race and asks. All he knows is that it looks like a photo finish. 

Skipper clearly has third place wrapped up. Losing to a guy pulling a yacht is a bit humiliating but Jesse is happy for Skipper. Now, there's the business of fifth place. He looks at Emma. There just might be a photo finish for fifth place too.

Garrett Duke's heart sinks heavily in anger and disappointment as he sees Hobie's car catch up besides him after holding such a beautiful lead over him only minutes before. Momentarily his reaction goes back to what he would have done a few years ago when he was in Atlanta and "accidently" swerve to run Hobie off the road, but he quickly dismisses that thought. He couldn't do that to Hobie or anyone in the race. Taking a deep breath, he does the only thing he can do and that is stand on the gas pedal and pray to cross the finish line first.

"C'mon Spittin' Cobra," he hisses at his car, "don't fail me now. I'll patch you up and spoil you once we cross that line!"

He pats the dashboard of his car and smiles as his beloved car responds with a jolt forward just as he reaches the finish line barely ahead of Hobie who crosses the line a half second after him. Garrett shows an unheard of reaction by pumping his fist up and says, "Way to go, Spittin' Cobra. You did it!" With that he pulls the car over to the right to park in a parking spot and slowly climbs out to watch the rest of the field come through the finish line to cheer them on.

Hobie slides in directly after  and looks around wondering what happened to Meadow!  He's glad everybody  made it safely but his concern over Meadow ........wait! There she is! She just pulled in!  ( He was worried!  )

But before Meadowmufn took sixth place the battle for fourth was fierce between Jesse and Emma. Jesse's front bumper crossed  the finish line first but when he got out of the truck the race judge (Enos Strate) was already handing the fourth place trophy to Miz Tisdale...

Jesse complained "Now Enos, Emmer ran a good race but I'm sure I crossed that there finish line first". 

Enos replied quickly "Um, I'm sorry about that Uncle Jesse but Miz Tisdale had two fishing poles tied to the front fender of her dirt bike and they stuck out so far that they crossed before your bumper." 

Jesse erupted " What in tarnation did ya do that fer Emmer?" 

Miz Tisdale smiled "Now don't you remember Jesse? You was so confident you'd finish ahead of me that you promised to take me on a date to the Hazzard Pond if I beat you."

Jesse smiled, "All right Emmer you win. But yer gonna be the one cleaning and frying the fish." 

She smiled back "I'm okay with that. As long as I can come out to the farm to do it."
