  1. The Green Hornet movie was a buddy-flick action comedy and they weren't going for any Oscars here, I'll admit. It looked to be a one-up and I doubt we'll see a sequel. But it was fun. I'm one of these people who like lighter fare when I'm at the movies. If I want dark, heavy stuff, I need look no further than the news. Which is why I look forward to the upcoming THOR movie with mixed optimism. Wanton violence aplenty just in the trailer. For some people the line between "action" and "violence" is blurred anyhow, but the tone in THOR looks darker than I expected.
  2. Just wanna mention that so far it looks like the big e-vent of 2011 is gonna be the Hazzard Homecoming in Sperryville Virginia! See the "Dukes of Hazzard News - Public Appearance of Cast" thread at the top of the Forums, for the latest. We'll also recap all the scheduled appearances and shindigs in our February newsletter, which is already out of control. There's a lot going on!
  3. Yes, and tell ya the truth, I was figuring on them releasing a bigger write-up on it. The one thing I take note of, is that it's called a Hazzard Homecoming and not DukesFest. Well, whatevah! Lemme tell it this way: HAZZARD HOMECOMING! Sperryville, Virgina, August 13 & 14 2011! Join Ben "Cooter" Jones and Catherine "Daisy" Bach at the original site of DukesFest in Sperryville Virginia! The rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains will echo with the sounds of Dixie horns once again, as General Lees and Dukes fans from around the country gather together! Activities, entertainment, music, and down-home good times will be featured! This shindig is still in the early stages ya'll, so more details will follow. For now, mark your calendars, dig out your Daisy Duke shorts, tune up your Dixie horns, and plan your life , or at least your summer, around this family friendly event. See ya'll there!

  5. Worth seeing for the 1965 Chrysler Imperial decked out with rockets, flamethrower, and dual machine guns. There's enough mayhem in this flick to please anybody. It's an action-comedy, a thankless category that always gets shortchanged by critics and panned by serious movie goers who are looking for more blood and guts and fewer jokes. But if you see the movie for the sake of seeing a nutty, glass-breaking shoot-em-up with car chases and explosions, you'll like it. Note, there is a 1969 Dodge Charger in this movie, but it just sits in the garage. You see it displayed teasingly in the early scenes, parked in a million dollar garage alongside other classic cars. Still, it seems to be an subliminal appeal to Dukes of Hazzard fans. Worked on me. I'll give this movie Three Yeehaa's outta five.
  6. Welcome to HazzardNet! Make yourself at home!
  7. Heck no, I wouldn't be aware of any of that in the slightest. I'm a Packers fan, ya know. I wouldn't mind seeing a Packers/Jets matchup for the SB, but I'm guessing the Steelers will come out on top of the next playoff round.
  8. Lemme just say this about all that. The real Super Bowl is the Packers-Bears playoff matchup itself. It's the oldest rivalry in football, if not in all of professional sports. Both teams know each other extremely well. Heck, the fans of each side know each other very well. Generations of hate, for hate's sake, has no better example. It'll come down to big defensive plays. Both teams have a dangerous offense. I believe the Packers have the better quarterback and of course I'm rooting for the Packers. It's gonna be a hard-hitting game tho'. On an aside, I'm amazed the Jets won. Wow, what a turnaround for that franchise from just a few years ago.
  9. After The Packers are done with 'em, the Falcons won't be in the playoffs.

I haven't had the opportunity to check it out yet, but I'd like too. I donate something each year to the Red Cross. I know a little about their courageous work in places like Siri Lanka and other dangerous parts of the world. It's amazing that people will volunteer to be in places where the rest of us wouldn't go for any amount of money.
  11. lasagna
  12. Bahahaha! Ummm....breaded mushrooms!
  13. I'll admit the Falcons are gonna be hard to beat, but not impossible. Here's my picks for winners: Steelers Packers Bears (yuck! But I think they'll win...) Patriots
  14. That's the spirit! And this is the Dukes of Hazzard we're talkin' about, it doesn't have to be THAT serious. Unless you've got a heckuva re-write in mind! We've got some real good writers in this group, so I'm looking forward to what ya'll come up with.
  15. Good deal. I kinda had you in mind when I put the offer out there. Naturally we'll give you credit for your write-up and any photos you supply. I used to get all over the country for these events, but I'm still dealing with some health challenges that have limited my travel. So I very much appreciate you giving us the fan's view of the gig. In fact, the whole "Fan of the Month" thing started many years ago as a result of us meeting fans from around the world at cast appearances and at DukesFest. If you bump into a Dukes fan with a special story, we'd love it hear about it. Thanks Roger!
  16. Aw jeeze, wake up over there, will ya?! And nevahmind about the Falcons being in the playoffs, just remember that the Packers are in the playoffs. There. Yer up to date!
  17. Roger must not be paying any attention to this. I'll give it another day or so before I knuckle under and ask him directly. Heh!
  18. For anybody who doesn't have a dog in this hunt ( GO PACKERS!) you can root for (GREEN BAY PACKERS!) or the Atlanta Falcons as that's who the Dukes would probably cheer for. (Right, the Packers!) Atlanta should take all that snow they just got, as an ominous sign. On an aside, I think Cooter was the only one on the show who gave a hoot about professional sports. At least he had an Atlanta Falcons cap.
  19. Packers won! Now I can be insufferable.
  20. Man, the Packers have it, as long as they don't...screw...up! Nuts to your Seahawks, by the way.
  21. go packers!
  22. Thanks for the gig list, DoubleShot. Much appreciated. We'll give you credit as we post the info on the home page and newsletters. To those of ya'll attending some of these shindigs - anybody interested in doing a little field reporting? Giving us a writeup of how the event was, what the crowd was like, what you enjoyed about it?
