  1. It's quite possible that Jesse had a sister named Lavinia and his wife was also named Lavinia. It's not that unusual to have a sibling and a spouse share the same name. Besides, I have two sets of aunts that share the same first name.
  2. I also grew up on the classic country greats! You should see my classic country collection that I share with my parents, I have CD's of: Kitty Wells, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, Donna Fargo, Janie Fricke, Crystal Gayle, Dottie West, Lynn Anderson, Patsy Cline, Tanya Tucker, Barbara Mandrell, Sylvia, Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, Olivia Newton-John, Kenny Rogers, Conway Twitty, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Charley Pride, Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Alabama, Oak Ridge Boys, Roger Miller, Don Williams, Johnny Paycheck, John Denver, John Conlee, Ronnie Milsap, Gatlin Brothers, Marty Robbins, Jim Reeves.
  3. "Judas Priest on a Pony". Rosco said this in "People's Choice" and "Follow That Still".
  4. The final episode of the Dukes of Hazzard aired on CBS, "Opening Night At The Boars Nest". It was written and directed by John Schneider.
  5. I've been watching all of the episodes featuring Daisy's Roadrunner first, then the Cooter and Rosco clone episodes. BB Davenport was in 'Granny Annie' (the Roadrunner is here), LB Davenport was in 'Follow that Still', 'Duke of Duke' (the Roadrunner is present for this one), and 'The Runaway' (Daisy's car crashes over the cliff). All of the Rosco clone episodes; 'Arrest Jesse Duke', 'Treasure of Hazzard', 'Officer Daisy Duke', 'Jude Emery', and 'Return of the Ridge Raiders'; had Daisy's jeep. Also, the jeep was present in 'Mason Dixon's Girls', 'R.I.P. Henry Flatt', and Southern Comfurts'.
  6. Well, Kensington is just like Hazzard, a small town. The mayor (or county commisioner) is just like Boss Hogg, mean and corrupt. The police chief (or sheriff) is like Rosco, out to get anyone, he would stop anyone for a dumb reason (he hasn't caught me yet because I follow the road rules). The former police chief was more like Enos or Cletus, couldn't even catch a cold. We also have a few mechanics like Cooter, including my dad. I'm not gonna try jumping over creeks or roadblocks with my Z-24, it couldn't take it because it's a 15 year old car.
  7. I also have to agree with ol' Cooter! He's right, the big-screen versions of TV classics are not the same as what you grew up watching.
  8. 81% Dixie here! It's amazing how the south has influenced my speech!
  9. I also passed the drivers test, 0 errors. Of course, I'm very cautious driving for real.
  10. I prefer Gretchen because she doesn't seem like a show-off like Shania has been over the past few years.
  11. I'm not sure if any of my American friends have seen this video on CMT in the States, but this is one cool music video. 'John Roland Wood' is the title of the song. It's performed by Aaron Pritchett, a Canadian artist. Anyway, this video is a spoof of the 'Dukes of Hazzard'. It features the General Lee driving around the band and also some of Hazzard's characters. They call themselves the 'Dookes of Merritt' or something like that. There's Jean-Luc, Moe, and Daffodil Dooke, Phatt Pig, Rosco and Jesse.
  12. Cool, I'm also from Eastern Canada (PEI). Chargers are really hard to find here. The first car I learned to drive in (after I got my learner's permit) was a 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible that my dad restored (he likes restoring older cars). The steering was really loose in it and the speedometer was in M/PH. My ex-boyfriend told me that someone he knew had a restored Dodge Charger all made into a General Lee replica, he said that the fellow lived in Stratford, PEI (not sure if he still has this car or not).
  13. I got mine yesterday at Wal-Mart for $43 Canadian. I watched all of the extras first and so far, I've only watched 'The Ghost of the General Lee'.
  14. Good news, I finally got Hazzard in Hollywood on tape. You know, I kind of like this reunion better than the first one. There seems to be more action in this one. Bo falls for a Mexican senorita. Daisy plays a stuntdouble in a movie. Luke is still single and handsome but is broken-hearted that his old flame re-married. Enos is a detective. Cletus and Rosco as still as silly as ever. A female mechanic even falls for Cooter.
  15. I noticed in some of the pictures I've seen on the internet that Willie is wearing extra padding to make him look bigger like Uncle Jesse. Mickey Jones, good ole B.B. Davenport. He played this role in 'Granny Annie'. I could see him as Uncle Jesse.
  16. Watch Extra tonight, January 20th (check local listings). It's showing John and Tom's screen-tests that will be on next weeks DVD. Check out the link: http://extratv.warnerbros.com/index.html
  17. It's too bad you don't live in Canada, Hazzard in Hollywood is airing on CMT Canada on Sunday night. I finally get to tape this one (it wouldn't tape the last time in 2000). I just saw the commercial last night for the movie on Sunday and boy did those Duke boys look handsome as ever, especially Luke with his goatee.
  18. January 24 -- The Rustlers January 25 -- The Ghost Of The General Lee January 26 -- People's Choice January 27 -- Gold Fever January 28 -- Witness For The Persecution Episodes air weeknights on CMT Canada @ 10 p.m. EST and repeat @ 1 a.m. & 4 a.m. EST.
  19. Supposedly, the triva questions are changed once a week, according to CMTCanada's website. MaryAnne, I thought you would have been in glee over being matched with Rosco P. Coltrane. The matchmaker questions are kind of obvious. I ended up being compatible with Luke (no surprise there). It's fun!
  20. In case there's others that would like to write to the cast members, I found valid addresses for each of them. Catherine Bach 15930 Woodvale Rd. Encino, CA 91436 (not sure if she charges) James Best P.O. Box 621027 Oviedo, FL 32762 (charges $10-$15 for autographed picture) Richard Hurst 1230 North Horn #401 West Hollywood, CA 90069 (not sure if he charges) Ben Jones 157 Parkway Gatlinburg, TN 37738-4411 (charges $8-$10 for autographed picture) John Schneider 4607 Lakeview Canyon Rd #569 Westlake Village, CA 91361 (not sure if he charges) Sonny Shroyer 201 Klotter Ave Suite #A1 Cincinnati, OH 45219 (charges $17-$22 for autographed picture) Tom Wopat P.O. Box 205 Bridgeton, NC 28519-0205 (charges $15 U.S., $18 Canadian, $22 overseas for membership/this includes autographed picture) A lot of stars now charge for autographs, so don't be a bit surprised by it. I have autographs of all of the surviving stars of MASH and luckily I knew ahead of time that some of them charged a fee and what the fee was so that I was able to get the correct amount send to the right person. It only took me a couple of weeks to get some of them.
  21. Bethie, I forgot to mention that your avatar is way cool! I wouldn't mind getting one done with Luke's picture in it.
  22. Nice picture of Luke, showing off his baby blue eyes. This scene always melts my heart.
  23. Has anyone on Hazzardnet either met the cast in person and/or got autographs from the surviving cast members? If anyone has written to cast members for autographs, how long did it take for a reply? I would have love to have gone to Dukefest, but I live in Canada and just don't have the money at the moment to take part in anything.
  24. Can't wait to read the rest of 'a bad mistake' and 'going home'. I'm no stranger to fanfics myself, one of my other many favorite shows is MASH and I've written some fanfics for it. I'm currently writing a fanfic about the Dukes in present day-2005.
  25. Since I have the 1997 reunion on tape, I currently don't have Hazzard in Hollywood on tape, this is my chance! The last time Hazzard in Hollywood was on in 2000, my VCR didn't seem to want to record it, so I was disappointed. Here's my chance and my fellow Canadian's chances to get it on tape. CMT Canada is airing the two-hour movie on Sunday, January 23, at 9 p.m. EST and repeating at 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. EST on January 24. I do hope that once the remaining seasons of the Dukes are put on DVD that they plan to release the two reunion movies on DVD as well. That would be perfect!
