Snowfall total was officially 12.5 inches out of that storm, #3 on the records list. Overnight the temps got down to -7 fahrenheit, windchills into the - teens. Wish there was something I could do for the stray animals that get dumped off here. Local animal shelters are so overwhelmed right now they are not taking any animals in. So the guy that chewed me out Tuesday had his mailbox taken out by a snow plow yesterday . I'm assuming he's pissed off the plow driver before because his mailbox was the only one on the block that got taken out. Maintenance guy for the apartment complex went above and beyond yesterday, he dug everyone's vehicles out with the snow blower. That was so cool even after one of our jerk neighbors called corporate to complain because he wasn't here first thing in the morning clearing the sidewalks. It was great when I got home from shoveling snow yesterday and did not have to dig the wife's car out.

I'm surprised more cars didn't fail inspection since I read Nascar is using a new laser scanner to check the body tolerances out this year.

Fertilizer (night crawlers make the best fertilizer too. After it rains sometimes I go outside and collect them and throw them into my garden.)

Haven't measured it yet but we at least got 9-10 inches overnight. I went out to clean the cars off just in case the wife got called into work. If she does I'll have to take her in my car as the plow driver buried her car behind a 18+ inch snow wall. Yesterday was a long day. Found out the tires on my wife's car aren't worth spit even in a couple of inches of snow, about slid into a mound of snow. My dad apologized and said he didn't know I wanted the snow blower when I told him last week yes I'll go half on it, call up your brother and tell him we'll take it. Sometimes with my dad it just feels like I'm banging my head on a wall. Then while shoveling one of my customers driveway their neighbor yells at me accusing me of throwing snow on his sidewalk even though it was the plow that came through before I got there. Since I wasn't packing and I've been warned ahead of time that he's an alcoholic druggie nutjob I just shovelled the three feet length of snow that I supposedly threw on his part of the sidewalk. I've heard some crazy story's about this guy from other neighbors so I figured it's best not to poke the bear. When the wife got home I told her that's why I want to move to the country, I'm sick of dealing with jerks. Roger bundle up and be careful shoveling, it is really cold out there especially with the wind gusts.

Happy engagement anniversary Roger. Snow was heavy this morning when I cleaned the car off for the wife. When I got done cleaning the windows off the windshield was completely covered again. Think we're going to get 3+ before the afternoon break before the 2nd round tonight. I'm not looking forward to Tuesday morning, got two long driveways to do among a few short ones. It's crazy that some of the power companies in the the south are asking people to keep their usage low for heat. Before we move to electric vehicles the infrastructure in this country needs to be upgraded especially if we can't keep warm during storms like this. Seen a huge pileated woodpecker at the park yesterday, was about as big as a crow. Had no idea they got that big.

Michael McDowell won the Daytona 500 when the two Penske teammates wrecked in front of him. I watched the replays on youtube this morning and was surprised that it was basically single file on the last few laps. This is his first Cup victory in his 14 year 358 starts career. At least now he'll be remembered for something other than surviving that horrendous practice crash at the beginning of his cup career. All the drivers walked away from the crashes this year though I bet Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski are nursing some pain this morning. Here's the top ten. 1 Michael McDowell 2 Chase Elliot 3 Austin Dillon 4 Kevin Harvick 5 Denny Hamlin 6 Ryan Preece 7 Ross Chastain 8 Jamie McMurray 9 Corey Lajoie 10 Kyle Larson Next Sunday will be the Daytona road course race.

They're gonna try and restart the race in a few minutes and get the rest of the race in tonight.

My dad's procrastinating struck again. Lost out on a deal for a used snowblower. Was gonna go in half and half with him but since he procrastinated in calling his brother it got sold . I have so had it with his procrastination BS. Local channels are saying we could see up to a foot of snow by Tuesday morning, so yeah really could have used that snowblower.

Sure don't get your money's worth at Bob Evans anymore. Got their new fried chicken dinner and let me tell you it don't look like the picture on their menu. When we got home I thought I got the wrong meal but nope it was correct just a lot smaller than than the menu picture. Ever since those dang wall street jackals bought Bob Evans restaurants portions have shrunk and customer service has gone down hill.

Well that sucked, 16 cars out of the race just like that and only on lap 15. And looks like the race is going to be delayed for quite a while due the the bucket being poured on the track.

So far she's got almost $22,000 on her GoFundMe page and a Dr did the procedure to remove the glue for free. Apparently she's still planning to sue Gorilla glue company and they'll probably settle to keep out of publicity. Must be wonderful to get such big windfall of $$$ for your own stupidity. If this lady had any morals she'd donate the gofundme money to a food bank or some other charity.

It was an ok movie, a bit over the top with the southern schtick considering I don't think any of the cast was from the south.

Martin Truex jr signs contract extension with JGR https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2021/02/10/martin-truex-jr-signs-contract-extension-with-joe-gibbs-racing/ Alex Bowman won the Daytona 500 pole in qualifying Wednesday night. Aric Almirola won the first duel and Austin Dillon the 2nd duel. Yeah it's crazy how much those cost these days. I read for some vehicles it's over $3,000. Yesterday afternoon I noticed a car driving down the road that just had the converter cut off. They've been hitting apartment complexes here getting a few of them then fleeing before the police get there. Yeah. She blessed and thanked me and said her son will finish removing the slush boulders from the front of the driveway and sent me off. As I was leaving I looked in the mirror and just seen him stand there watching her slowly push them. I would've gone back but didn't want to wear out my welcome.

Cup qualifying has been rescheduled to 7:30pm est tonight on FS1. Looks like there's a pretty good chance that the 500 will rain delayed as they're expecting rain Saturday and Sunday.

On my way home last night I noticed a senior lady shoveling a path to her mail box so I turned around and stopped to help her. Her son came out to "help" after he seen me. She was 88 years old. Her son said he's got a herniated disc blah blah blah. I thought to myself herniated disc or not there's no way I'd let my octogenarian mother or father shovel snow. For Christ sake the city has a number you can call and a volunteer will come out and shovel your walk or to your mailbox for free. Keep an eye on your catalytic converters they are the hot ticket item for thieves these days. They're even striking in the middle of the day where people work. Japanese cars seem to be targeted the most.

Well let's hope they use the oval next year as that was a yawner of a race except on the last lap where Chase Elliot tried a bump n run on Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch passed them both for the win. I found it hilarious that they called a caution for dirt on the track though they might have called it because Denny Hamlin was driving away from the rest of them. He had the best car but pit stops kept putting him back in the field.

I flipped over to The Simpsons and Chips since the local NBC station added the Charge channel to it's lineup last week.
