  1. Growing up my father always watched westerns. I think his favorite is "Shane," followed by a random sampling of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. I however, never really took to westerns until I saw "Winchester '73" with Jimmy Stewart (and a very young James Best) several years ago. I now dig westerns. LOL So....favorite westerns?? Here's some of mine in no particular order... 1. Winchester '73 2. The Shootist 3. The Left Handed Gun 4. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly 5. Firecreek 6. Shenanadoah 7. Cahill, US Marshall 8. Duel at Diablo 9. The Hour of the Gun 10. The Paleface 11. Support Your Local Sheriff 12. Support Your Local Gunfighter
  2. It means you and I will be out of a job.
  3. Sheriff Little didn't have any use for any Hazzard folk. Except when Boss was payin'. Heh! Although he would verbally abuse Boss and Rosco at every turn, he never turned away from Boss's money. I don't know if that's good or bad about the guy. LOL Little: "Any questions fatso?" Boss: "Hey, wait a minute, you can't talk to me like that!" Little: "I just did..." Boss and Rosco: "Oh..." Rosco: "The name is Coltrane! There ain't no 'brain' in it!" Little: "You can say that again." And my all time favorite Sheriff Little line (to Rosco): "One more word outta you pipsqueak and it'll be your last for posterity!"
  4. I know in Mary Kaye's Baby, during the chase scene after the boys pick up Mary Kaye, there's one point where we see Bo driving, then Luke, then Bo again. I don't think there's no indication that they stopped at any point during the sequence of shots that they switched places. Rosco and his watch and rings, yeah. He started out with a turqoise ring which eventually became a black onyx ring which eventually became nothin'. LOL
  5. True! And I suppose we would have to keep this to official episodes (stuff actually produced and sanctioned by WB) but if ya add the fanfics....well, then we're talking infinity. Khee!
  6. Given that Hazzard County itself didn't get to advanced on technology (I still have a hard time with the fax machine at the farm in the first reunion movie! LOL) I think HNet should not advance any further than it has. Of course, I more or less feel that way because I have enough trouble with technology as it is!! GAAAHH!! 8)
  7. Right-O. Infact, y'all have a beer and relax and I'll drive.
  8. Definitely a good rule of thumb and one I think Tom would apply to.
  9. Ditto on the tomatoes....tomatos....(you say toe-may-toe, I say toe-mah-toe...heh!). Anyway, when they're over ripe they useless to slice that's for sure. Under ripe, they slice but....what's the point? Like you said, no flavor. Chips direct from the bag are great....except when they go stale.
  10. A random sampling of favorite lines/scenes from movies..... Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone Hermaine(sp?): "....we could end up getting killed. Or worse, expelled!" *leaves for the girls dorm* Ron (to Harry): "That girl has got to get her priorities straight!" -------------------------- Blues Brothers Elwood: "We'll be awright if we can just get back on the expressway." Jake: "This don't look like no expressway to me!" Elwood: "Don't yell at me." Jake: "You got us into this parking lot, pal, you get us out!" Elwood: "You want out of this parking lot?.......Okay!" *after trashing the mall* Illinois Trooper: "They broke my waaatch!" Trooper Daniel: "I'm gonna catch that sucker. If it's the last thing I ev-ah dooo...." Jake: "My head hurts. That Night Train is a mean wine." Elwood: "Who is that girl?!" --------------------- Patton *suiting up to go against Rommel's 10th Panzer division in Tunisia* Patton: "All my life, I've wanted to lead men in a desperate battle. Now I'm going to do it." *after the battle* Patton: "Rommel....you magnificent bas---d, I read your book!!!" *later at headquarters* Patton: "What? We just went up against 10th Panzer and now you tell me Rommel was in Berlin with an ear ache?!" Sir Bernard Montogomery (Commanding General, British Army) finds US General Walter "Beetle" Smith in the lavatory at Allied Headquarters in Algiers. They discuss the plans for the invasion of Sicily. Smith says he'll let Ike know Monty's plan and concerns. As the two men leave.... Monty: "Amusing isn't it?" Smith: "What's that?" Monty: "That the final plans for the invasion of Sicily should be brought forth in an Algerian lavatory." ---------------------------- Orchestra Wives *scene is a train station platform, various musicians and their wives are milling about waiting to board the train. The band leader, Gene Morrison (Glenn Miller) comes through the crowd, looking for two musicians in particular, stops and asks one of the boys, they haven't seen the two. Looks in the station building, comes back out, asks his drummer...* Gene (Miller): "You seen Sinjin and Bill?" Buddy: "I haven't seen them all morning. They weren't in their rooms last night." *Miller goes out of the camera shot, as Buddy's wife suddenly reams him out* Caroline: "I thought you were with Sinjin last night?!" Buddy: "Well I woulda been honey if he'da been there..." Caroline: "Well where were you then?" *Miller comes back into the shot* Gene: "Not so early in the morning! Wait until you get him on the train to beat 'em up will ya?" *A few moments later, Sinjin and Bill finally show up. Bill had run off and married a girl the previous evening. Miller spots Sinjin.* Gene: "There's one of them now. Sinjin, where you been?!" Sinjin (smarmy): "I was a bridesmaid." Gene: "Ehh that's not funny. Where's Bill?' Sinjin: "He was a bride." *boarding the train. Miller's still runnin' around making sure all his musicians are there to board! Spots the wife of one of the men* Gene: "Where's Phil?" Natalie: "Who?" Gene (slightly agitated): "Yer husband, remember?" Natalie: "Oh yeah....here he comes. C'mon dumbo!" *Phil makes it to the train, Natalie slaps his hat on his head* "You'd think somebody who blows on a horn all night would have better wind!" *poker scene with some of the boys in the band* Bill: "Sure you know what you're doing, Gene?" Gene: "Listen, I don't tell you how to play trumpet, don't tell me how to play poker..." Sinjin's ex-wife Marjorie to Sinjin about his alimony payment: "If I don't have that check by the end of the week you'll be playing piano in the Sing Sing Orchestra." 8)
  11. I dunno if y'all saw but I did a little thing about the Demise of Daisy's RoadRunner and the phantom head that pops up in the back of the car before it goes off the cliff. A sharp eyed Duke fan pointed that out to us awhile back. (Those of ya that didn't see it, there's a link on the front page of HNet) Now I'm wonderin'....anybody ever seen any other odd or strange things in episodes of the Dukes?
  12. I've seen one episode of the cartoon series, the one with the Australian cousin and his boxing kangaroo. LOL Boss and Rosco are hilarious to watch in cartoon form. They coulda just called it the Boss and Rosco show (Rosco and Bosswinkle?? ROFLMAO!! Sorry!!! ) and it woulda been a hit.
  13. Yes, Wisconsin is not the only state where people drink beer. Except maybe whatever state Kitty is in.
  14. I agree. I think I prefer the headline of "Wopat arrested for DWI" rather than "Actor Tom Wopat Injured (or Killed) in Car Crash."
  15. Heh heh! Well if we're all confused we must really be on the right track. KHEE! I think LS3 has the clarification. At least, it's the same confusin' reasonin' that I'm comin' up with. LOL I do want to put forth another demilitarized zone (ROFL) of the Round Robin story "Buckshot." I don't think it should count because if Brian posts something it might not be something I can respond to and keep with continuity of the story. A visa versa. Ya know, he posts as Black Jack and cue's Alex, who cues Black Jack, who cues Alex, who cues whoever and then say, Min jumps in and cues Doc, who cues Val, who cues Rosco who cues me. Cripes, no wonder we make things confusin' around here!! ROFL
  16. Yep, works for me. I'm thoroughly and utterly confused so it must be working.. Khee!
  17. That never happens in our house. My father loves bananas and eats them in that half hour time slot. LOL I've heard tho' that when bananas get ripe they can be used in making banana cream pie. Now, why the bananas are any better in the pie than they are au natural and ripe...I haven't the foggiest. As for Jamanda's report on lemon flavored Theraflu and it's aftertaste.....bleeechh....
  18. I'm taking a guess, as I don't know the song but I've heard the references before.... I would have no doubt that the outlaw in the dream is Waylon. Yes, the red headed stranger is Willie. The man in black in Cash. The Okie from Muskogee is Merle. Marty and Lefty....I think they're referrin' to Marty Robbins and Lefty Frizzel. I have no clue who the boys from Memphis are... Unless they're referrin' to other Sun Records singers like Elvis, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. I have NO idea what the wallbash cannonball is! LOL
  19. Ya know...I was just thinkin' this myself. Are we starting whole new threads, Brian, or just radomly hitting threads already out there and/or posting new threads? I'd prefer the radom hit to either exisiting or new threads. I also agree that this thread is our neutral zone, posts don't count towards the game and it gives us a chance to clarify if need by on stuff and to occasionally lob some smarmy comments at each other. Like we won't be doing this otherwise?! LOL
  20. It might depend on whether or not the two part episodes are split. There were three two parters, "Ten-Million Dollar Sheriff" "Carinval of Thrills" and "Dukes Undercover" That would make the extra 3 I think. Then if you count the reunions it goes up to 152! 8)
  21. Yeah, keep that in mind!! ROFL If y'all wanna comment on the smarmy factor of any of our posts, knock yerself out. I'm not exactly as gifted as Brian in the wit department sometimes. I get a zinger in here 'n there but I have to work at it. LOL. Anyway all I'm gonna be worried about is keeping up with Brian's posts. Anyway! Looks like the judges have been see-lected. Good luck y'all! MaryAnne
  22. Ditto. Whom ever y'all chose it won't be taken personally. We're all friends and cousins here and we're all gonna have some fun!
  23. We shall commence on Saturday. You know tho', if everybody ends up watching you Brian that doesn't necessarily mean anything about loyalties.... 8)
