  1. Ditto! Tho' I'm a day late and a dollar short but... Khee! Happy Belated-Birthday Jimmie!
  2. WD-40 is: 2) A highway in Wisconsin Yes! Have you ever looked at a Wisconsin highway map?! Which is the best way to coax your car to start? 1) Saying “C’mon, baby…†while you turn the key Other words can be substituted for "C'mon, baby" but this is a famliy board. If you have 3 points left on your driver’s license, what motor vehicle violation can you still afford to have? 4) My car doesn’t run, so it’s no problem See previous question. You’re hauling lumber in the trunk of your car, but it sticks out way beyond the trunk. For safety’s sake, you should: 2) Swerve the car so everyone behind you can see it 3) Drive faster to get the trip over sooner Doing both at the same time I think is optimal. Your favorite TV show is: 4) The Dukes of Hazzard What was the point of the other three selections??!?! The most important item in your weekly grocery list is: 1) Skoal 2) Beer 3) Potatoes 4) Pork Rinds All four. They represent the four major redneck food groups ya know! You enjoy reading which of the following? 3) New truck ads And I don't look at pitchers of no stinkin' Toyota trucks neither!! True or false! Beef jerky never spoils. 1) True 2) False Who the hell keeps beef jerky around long enough to find out? You can smoke a ham in the microwave. 3) Yeehaaw! That's what the tinfoil is for!!
  3. *YAWN* Oh please, don't hold us in suspense!
  4. James Best had a dispute with WB and left the show for a bit. Rosco was replaced several times during the leave which lasted for about 5 episodes... His replacements were.... Hughie Hogg (Jeff Altman...we all know Hughie LOL) Lester Crabtree (Clifton James) Buster Moon (James Hampton) Grady Bird (Dick Sargent as Julie pointed out. He was in two episodes) What surprises me is WB actually got competent talented actors to replace Rosco and all of them fit into Hazzard pretty well (as compared the entire 5th Season Coy & Vance debacle). Despite the very good actors, none of them could hold a torch to Jimmie's Rosco protrayal. Although Dick Sargent I think could have given him a serious run for the money. LOL.
  5. Awww!! *sniff!* I think it's very good....if sad. =)
  6. A few years back I spotted a mid 80's Monte Carlo with the "01" on the doors and the car was a rather subdued orange color (or badly faded. LOL). Anyway the "01" was the correct font but...alas.... LOL
  7. Okay folks we appear to be stuck at 17 and losing some serious ground. Either a group of folks have decided to do nothing but vote negative for our show or people out there are hitting that negative button thinking they're helping us. It doesn't!!! Also, maybe it's just me with being on AOL but I my understanding is that you can vote only once every five minutes. And that means you can only vote in one show every five minutes. So if you vote for the Dukes you can't go and vote for another show until five minutes has passed. Again, this may just be me with my ISP, but if any y'all are out there trying to vote a negative on another show, you basically wasted a positive vote that could have gone to the Dukes. I have to say tho that we're apparently not the only show that's stalled and getting a lot of negative votes. So theorists can conclude that there's something wrong somewhere. LOL Anyway, KEEP VOTING POSITIVE!!!
  8. Yeah I was votin' this morning too and it was getting frustrating because I'd do a positive vote every five minutes and the number kept going the other way!! I'd vote positive and there'd be a negative vote (meaning there were two negative votes and my one positive cancelled one out). I was beginning to think I was being tricked and was hitting the wrong button. ARGH! But finally whoever was voting negative during that fifteen or 30 minutes gave up and we blew through about 200 votes today! Last I checked we were like 190something away from #23. Yeeehaaaa!!!
  9. Ok, I'll admit the Bo figurel is kinda cute, but the Luke figure looks like Michael Knight with a crappy attitude. Or Rosco with Steven Tyler lips. ROLFMAO!!!! (The actual figure that is as opposed to the image) Nice hair tho'. Khee! I did notice the faux paux on the Bo doll. Hopefully ones produced don't have that error.
  10. Hi y'all! Okay, I put an announcement up on the front page of HNet and I made this topic sticky so folks see it first thing when they come to this part of the forums! I voted all day today. ROFL. DOH is up to #39 with 78 or so votes to get to 38! Rally 'round the Rebel flag!! Kheeeeeehaaaaaa!!!!
  11. Ok, I just voted and the Dukes are now at 91!!!
  12. After a long hiatus, the HNet fanfic archive has been updated!! Also, several of the stories in the archive already had broken links. I think I've fixed all of them (thanks to those of you who pointed them out). Happy reading! MaryAnne
  13. Thanks everyone! Yep, I'm 21......again. Heh heh!
  14. Waaalll I'll be horn swaggled! I think the Luke tree must still be in Georgia somewhere. Khee!
  15. Hmm.....I don't think he was in Love Me Tender (be cool if he was!) Other great Jimmie movies.... Air Cadet (1950) - Plays one of four young Air Force recruits. Richard Long is also in this movie. Elements of the plot are similar to "From Here to Eternity" which came out three years later. Target Unknown (1951) - Jimmie plays a member of a WWII bomber crew, shot down over Germany and captured and taken prisoner. The Nazi's attempt to trick the crew members into revealing sensitive information regarding troop build ups in England in preperation for the invasion of Europe. Interesting movie and apparently based on some events that actually happened. The Left Handed Gun (1958) - With Paul Newman. Also look for Denver Pyle in this one. Paul Newman plays Billy the Kid and Jimmie is one of his buddies. Without spoiling the plot, Denver's character ends up doing something to Jimmie that Uncle Jesse probably would've like to have done to Rosco in his more angry moments. LOL The Quick Gun (1964) - One of several movies Jimmie did with Audie Murphy (the single most decorated veteran of WWII). Jimmie plays a Sheriff of a small town and Audie is a man with a shady past. He returns and trouble ensues. There's tons of others, I'll list later.
  16. No you're right, Waylon does say in OAB that the boys got caught "last year" on a whiskey run. So yeah I'd take that to be '77 too. But like I said, a show with several different writers you're bound to have some details and whatnot not add up. LOL This is one of them.
  17. I'm gonna take a stab at that two year thing. I never heard that they were to be on probation for only two years. (If anybody can cite a specific episode, let me know and I'll watch again). However, if y'all go back and watch the episode Mary Kaye's Baby, when Rosco's snooping around the farm and hears Jesse and Daisy talking (knowing he's outside) making it sound like Bo and Luke are in the house too....he goes busting in. Only to find they're not there. Daisy then says that she and Jesse were reminising about when the boys got caught running shine and put on probation "two years ago." Now....given that particular episode woulda been filmed in late 1978....I take the two years to mean '76. Which manages to fit with the backstory of when the boys got General Lee. It's a given that for a show that ran that long and had several different writers that some details, dates, whatnot won't add up. But it's fun to try to make it all work. LOL
  18. Hmmm......awrighty, if yer lookin' to explain/defend bloopers and continuity errors try this one... Why would Daisy say in the episode "Daisy's Shotgun Wedding" that she'd been working at the Boar's Nest for five years and could handle herself. (This is during the scene when she smashes the beer pitcher over Milo's head)....yet in the episode "Happy Birthday, General Lee" (which aired after DSW) we learn that Daisy started working at the Boar's Nest at the time the boys got the General which would've been 8 years previous. Keeping in mind that both episodes aired in the same season and the same year (1984), she either started working in 1979 (obviously when the show started) or 1976 when the boys got the car. Wanna explain that one??
  19. I believe he was on the $500 bill, which isn't printed anymore.
  20. dukefan, I believe if you find the post called "Post Hogg" from Brian it'll explain things a bit. Basically what we were doing was a chase through the forums, where I would post and Brian would post and we would have to answer each other's posts within a specific time frame plus add more posts! LOL
  21. Actually it was this post that he missed completely.... http://www.hazzardnet.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=31833#31833
  22. MaryAnne, meanwhile was heading back to the Sheriff's office after requesting some help from Boss and Lulu to get the towns folk to round up and head out to safety. Boss offered his spread of land a couple of miles outside of town as temporary camp and he and Lulu were soon spreading the word for women and children to gather up a few belongings, some rations and blankets for the night should they be needed and hitch up wagons to take them out of town. By the time MaryAnne was stepping up on the boardwalk infront of the Sheriff's office, a wagon train was forming and Boss's voice could be heard as he called out instructions. Horses neighed and reins rattled as hitches pulled taught and the animals an wagons were soon moving like a slow freight out of town. MaryAnne met up with the newly gathered posse as they paused by the hitching post infront of the Sheriff's office. "Well, I got Boss and Lulu taking everyone out of town to Boss's spread for safety. Some of the menfolk are going with the wagon train, some are staying here in town to join up with the posse." She paused, looking at the members of the posse that stood before her, the Strate twins, Min, Chance and Chet. She grinned. "Ya know, we got some many aces in the hand, Black Jack would do well to just fold before the first deal. Khee!" She paused. "Ya know, come to think of it tho' we could use a couple of more aces.....anybody seen Bo and Luke Duke?" (cue anybody! Khee!)
  23. Yikes! I'll be lucky to end up at a "My Mother the Car" forum. By the way, Brian.....ya missed one of my posts and the 48 hour winder has passed.... LOL
