  3. Well, I must say I'm dubiously honored by this....dubious honor. Khee! Seriously tho', thank you. I think. Heh heh! As for those shiny buttons.....I can't help it. I'm drawn to them, inexplicably. They're purty ya know. All shiney and sparkly. They call to me.....MaryAnne! MaryAnne! And I'm drawn in. Ooo...what's dis button do? *click* Oops. *KERBLAMO!* Let's face it, I have some tough expectations to live up to being a Coltrane. Accidentally blowing stuff to smithereens is practically a fine art. I think I'm almost a master. Khee! Falling asleep at the dinner table is my newest talent. Seriously tho'....Thanks, y'all.
  4. I believe the idea of Mason Dixon's Girls was pitched for a spin-off of the Dukes but there were no takers. I think it would've worked...tho' I probably would've gotten a different actress to play Sam. I dunno why, she just didn't seem to fit. I liked Tinker. Lisa
  5. Our fanfic archive is updated for October 1.
  6. My junior year in highschool I auditioned to be in the talent show, playing my guitar and singing a tune. The show was held two nights (Thurs and Friday) and I played both nights. It had been a long while since I'd been on a stage so I really was nervous and when I realized I was about to sing in front of an audience I drew a total blank. Not on singing the song, but I was going to do a lil' introduction! (Good evening everyone.... ect...) Anyway, so I start in on playing and suddenly there's feedback from the microphone. SCREEEEEEECH!!! Terrific! Can this go any smoother now? LOL The kid running the sound board is at the foot of the stage and I hear him say "Sorry." According to my parents and friends I gave him a look to kill. ROFL Anyway, with the microphone adjusted I started playing again. Sang the song, made it through, got a standing ovation. Khee! For the record (somebody out there will probably ask what song did I sing) the song I sang was "Mother Nature's Son" by the Beatles. Nice acoustic tune. I had also rehearsed "Daniel" by Elton John as a back up. As I sit here now, many years later, my guitar is need of new strings, tuning and cleaning. Last time I pulled it out to play it (after having not played it in about 6 or 7 years...) I broke two strings on it and had no replacements. And that was about a year ago. LOL. Ah well, someday I'll get it fixed it up again.
  7. You were very fortunate, I'm glad to hear you're okay. My condolences on your friend's horse.
  8. Hmmm...I think I'll go with "Keep the issue private and remain professional." 8)
  9. I dunno if it's the best. LOL. I've been around long enough to remember previous incarnations which, I think were a bit better. Will admit there's a couple of nice new pics of him in the merchandise section.
  10. How do I put a picture with my username? To set up a picture that appears with your username on the left hand side of the screen (known as an avatar), do the following: At the top of the forums page, click on profile. This will put you into your profile to edit. Down at the bottom you'll find the avatar thing. Currently, HNet does not have onsite avatars to choose from, you'll have to use a pic that is hosted offsite somewhere (such as photobucket). Type in the URL for the image(http://www.photobucket/somefolder/lotsapics/avatarforhnet.jpg) The program specs state that the avatar can't be more than 80X80 pixels and can't be more than 6KB. Unfortunately a lot of our users totally blow off this rule. (Geez, guys! LOL). So, we're not gonna come down on ya too hard for a big pic, but if it's excessively huge, you will be ticketed. LOL Also....no dirty pics eh? Uncle Jesse would be plum upset with ya. (And I'd have to arrest ya for indecent exposure LOL) MaryAnne
  11. Howdy folks! MaryAnne here with some general guidelines for y'all on registering to use our forums. In the past the registration process has never been an issue, but as of late we here at HNet have noticed an increased amount of bounced emails from newly registered users and some long existing users. Granted, some of the bounced emails come from the spammers who try to join up and we're pretty diligent in stopping them and removing their accounts. However, we want to make sure that the folks out there who really want to use this board register correctly so they can use this board. Given this is a public forum board, you might be wondering when the heck an email message would come into play. Well, there's a few times when an email message would come into play. 1. When you first register to use the forum, you will receive a confirmation email with your user name and password. 2. Once your account has been activated, you will recieve an email notification. 3. If you select to be notified of new private messages, you will receive an email notification of such. 4. If you chose to "watch" a topic, you will receive an email notifying you of new posts to that topic. Needless to say, when an email address turns out to be junk, the HNet Moderator's inboxes get filled with a lot "Mail Delivery Failure" notices. LOL So...with that in mind please note the following: 1. You must sign up with a legtimate email address. Not only should your email be legit, you should make sure to enter it in correctly when you sign up. We have no way of knowing if the email is legit but spelled incorrectly when the message bounces back to us. Please note, also, that putting "www" infront of your email will cause messages to bounce and your account will not be activated. Do not put "www" infront of your email address. Any messages that bounce back to us from new users, the account will not be activated. To use your account you will have to email us through the feedback form and provide a legtimate email address. At that point we will then activate your account. (And you'll get the message saying it's activated! 8) ) 2. Please set your spam settings for your email to recognize and allow the "hazzardnet.com" domain to make it to your inbox. You should also allow for "aol.com" and "yahoo.com". I know of atleast one person who signed up here at the forums, had trouble logging in and emailed us for help but when we emailed her back (from both AOL and Yahoo) our message bounced back saying we were not accepted. Folks...need I explain more? LOL. Help us to help you! If you change your email address after your account is activated and any messages come bouncing back to us for some reason, your account will be disabled until you shape up. LOL. Okay, that should just about cover it. Really the email thing is the only issue we're having thus far. I should also disclose that we do not collect email addresses to give to third parties for marketing purposes or any of that crap, so no worries that we're secretly monitoring any of your email communications. The NSA is probably already doing that. Thank you for your consideration and welcome to HNet! MaryAnne

  13. Hi all, First, apologies to Bodukescowgrl. I had noticed smurfette's post triple posted, so I was merely trying to delete the duplicate posts and for some reason we have some technical difficulty and it wiped out the whole thread. I did not mean to wipe out the whole thread!!! Luckily I was able to go back in my internet history and find the post and I copied and saved the information. Here it is... 14. ....which is in the New England area...
  15. Why Pigpen look! It's a rubber duck...and she's about to put the hammer down! ROFL Hi Karyn, welcome to HNet! You've said nor done nothin' wrong. LOL. I've seen the font referred to as either Hobo or Hobby Headline. We'd love to see a pic of your sign when it's finished!
  16. Okay fellas, I can see y'all are both impassioned Dukes fans so let's all agree to disagree and stop kicking dirt over each other's boots. Kapeche? 8)
  17. How refreshing to look at the TV/Entertainment section of my local newspaper on Saturday and see a blurb (with picture!) about how James Best will be getting the Harvey Award from the Jimmy Stewart museum. Unfortunately no pic with the Yahoo link, but.... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060811/ap_en_tv/people_james_best Congrats Jimmie!
  18. Just a heads up y'all, the HNet Fanfic page was updated August 1.
  19. Ditto! Tho' I'm a day late and a dollar short but... Khee! Happy Belated-Birthday Jimmie!
  20. WD-40 is: 2) A highway in Wisconsin Yes! Have you ever looked at a Wisconsin highway map?! Which is the best way to coax your car to start? 1) Saying “C’mon, baby…†while you turn the key Other words can be substituted for "C'mon, baby" but this is a famliy board. If you have 3 points left on your driver’s license, what motor vehicle violation can you still afford to have? 4) My car doesn’t run, so it’s no problem See previous question. You’re hauling lumber in the trunk of your car, but it sticks out way beyond the trunk. For safety’s sake, you should: 2) Swerve the car so everyone behind you can see it 3) Drive faster to get the trip over sooner Doing both at the same time I think is optimal. Your favorite TV show is: 4) The Dukes of Hazzard What was the point of the other three selections??!?! The most important item in your weekly grocery list is: 1) Skoal 2) Beer 3) Potatoes 4) Pork Rinds All four. They represent the four major redneck food groups ya know! You enjoy reading which of the following? 3) New truck ads And I don't look at pitchers of no stinkin' Toyota trucks neither!! True or false! Beef jerky never spoils. 1) True 2) False Who the hell keeps beef jerky around long enough to find out? You can smoke a ham in the microwave. 3) Yeehaaw! That's what the tinfoil is for!!
  21. *YAWN* Oh please, don't hold us in suspense!
  22. James Best had a dispute with WB and left the show for a bit. Rosco was replaced several times during the leave which lasted for about 5 episodes... His replacements were.... Hughie Hogg (Jeff Altman...we all know Hughie LOL) Lester Crabtree (Clifton James) Buster Moon (James Hampton) Grady Bird (Dick Sargent as Julie pointed out. He was in two episodes) What surprises me is WB actually got competent talented actors to replace Rosco and all of them fit into Hazzard pretty well (as compared the entire 5th Season Coy & Vance debacle). Despite the very good actors, none of them could hold a torch to Jimmie's Rosco protrayal. Although Dick Sargent I think could have given him a serious run for the money. LOL.
  23. Awww!! *sniff!* I think it's very good....if sad. =)
  24. A few years back I spotted a mid 80's Monte Carlo with the "01" on the doors and the car was a rather subdued orange color (or badly faded. LOL). Anyway the "01" was the correct font but...alas.... LOL
