Great to hear from you again, and glad your life's going well. Just don't leave it so long between visits!

From near the start of season 3, "Some Automobiles Supplied by: AMC" appeared in the end credits of the show, so they probably wouldn't have wanted Ford being promoted. However, as I said above, even Daisy's Jeep logos were covered (AMC owned Jeep at the time).

I could've sworn that I posted a similar picture to this, but I can't find it, so I'm borrowing one of Roth's. It shows how they taped the individual letters of Plymouth: There were a few brands visible in early episodes. Boss' Caddy started out with its original door mirrors, complete with Cadillac logo, but they later got replaced with aftermarket models. Dixie's Jeep logos were also on show at the beginning, but they were later removed or taped over, despite the car being placed in the show. In 'Mary Kaye's Baby' they even describe Cooter's car as "A 1975 blue Plymouth Fury", but it didn't last. I'm guessing that they just took the decision not to promote any brands, or it could've been a clearance issue.

I see that the box in the show didn't have an apostrophe, but the props people made a few spelling/grammar errors over the years. An "Orphan's Fund" would only support one orphan, whereas an "Orphans' Fund" could support many. If you really don't like apostrophes, you could call it "A Fund for Orphans"! -

I've just checked it out, and that was the scene that I was remembering. I hope it's the one that di79mar wanted. It was Rayford Flicker of United Amalgamated Dixie Charities, Inc. who was collecting for the Orphans' Fund. Boss starts the donations with $500, but while the box is on the Duke Boys' table, a distraction created by Rosco allows Rayford to drop the money into the false bottom of the box so that they can say the boys stole it. The scene is about 20 minutes into the episode, which is #16 in season 4. -
I started a thread about the 1:18 diecast models some time ago - see here. Sadly, it looks like Roth's pictures are missing, but it does contain the announcements about the new Hazzard patrol car and Uncle Jesse's pickup. I found a site offering Boss' Cadillac (complete with Mego figure) and Daisy's Jeep, but neither are official. They have adapted other models and put them in Dukes boxes. The Jeep was a later model, and the Caddy looks like a much earlier model. After a little more searching, I found a announcement that Greenlight is releasing a 1:18 version of Daisy's Jeep in January 2020. The site where I found the announcement even had a preview image, but that turned out to be my FanArt picture!

When the original Duke Farm in Georgia was being dismantled in 2011, various pieces were put up for sale. The thread is here.

Believe it or not, they were born on the same day: March 1, 1954. Ron(ny) Howard appeared as Opie Taylor in 225 episodes of 'The Andy Griffith Show', while Denver only appeared as Briscoe Darling in six. As far as I can see, the first show that they're both credited in was Denver's second episode, 'Mountain Wedding', in 1963, but I don't think they shared any screen time. In fact, flicking through the episode, I can only see Ronny in the opening credits. If anyone has the time to watch it through fully, I stand to be corrected.

Like you, I can clearly remember the scene, but I am also struggling to remember the episode. While I have a think, lets hope that one of the other members can help out. -
As the series progressed, a lot of the vehicles (and clothing) became standardized to make continuity easier. That still didn't stop AMC Matadors occasionally appearing in chase sequences in later seasons. I'm guessing that rather than swapping the interiors, they probably swapped the front grille/lights from '77/'78 cars onto '75/'76 cars so that they looked the same from the outside. Of course, the makers probably had no idea that we'd still be watching the show 40 years later and spotting these little inconsistencies!

While it doesn't show up too well in the screengrab, you can still make out the row of moonshine jugs on the fender of the car on the right. If you watch the episode again, you'll see Sheriff Loomis painting an extra jug on the fender.

The main bloopers thread is here. There's a post on the first page by TheGeneral01 that mentions a similar situation in an unknown episode in season 2, but it says Bo jumps in first, which isn't the case in 'Days of Shine and Roses'. I've watched the scene, and while it's not possible to screengrab it, Luke definitely appears to get in as if the door was open, and you can hear the door close.

Residents of Hazzard County
HossC replied to RogerDuke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
The writers must've liked the name Pruitt. There was Mr. Pruitt the printer in 'Mrs. Daisy Hogg', and one of the characters in 'The Treasure of Soggy Marsh' was also called Pruitt. Besides those, there were mentions of Pruitt Corners, Mr. Pruitt's farm, Pruitt's Hollow, Pruitt's pasture and Pruitt's Meadow (some of which have already been mentioned by Roger). -

Ezekiah (no "H") Pringle was Mary Lou's Uncle Zeke in 'The Hazzardville Horror'. You're right about the other one - the man who owed the Dukes money for a roofing job in 'New Deputy in Town' was just named as Mr. Pringle. There was also a Pringle's Pond mentioned in 'The Great Bank Robbery' - "It's not my fault. Them Duke boys evaded me right into Pringle's Pond." -
Daisy's Jeep flooring

We discussed the interior of Daisy's Jeep at the beginning of the year. I posted a link to a Jeep brochure and a page from it here in the Daisy's Jeep Pictures thread. It looks like I found "Brown Carpeting" among the features of the Golden Eagle package. Here's a reminder of the picture: -

This is becoming a very impressive list, Roger. I recognized nearly all the names at the start, but there are more and more that have gone from my memory as you continue posting. Keep up the good work . -
Sorry I missed the communal watching, Hobie. I had in my mind that it was later (I'm not used to Central Time), and didn't have my DVDs out ready. Technically, Jason Lively is Ernie Lively's (Ernie Brown's) real life stepson. Ernie's character was called Dobro Doolan in this episode. After three appearances as Longstreet B. Davenport in season 2, he made a final appearance as Clyde the Guard in season 6. The flying piano wasn't very convincing. The truck stopped and then the piano flew off. According to Wikipedia, Western Auto closed in 2003, although some stores continued (illegally) using the name/signs.

7.00pm Central is 1.00am in the UK/Ireland and 2.00am for Roth in the Netherlands. For me, that's too late, even at a weekend.
-
That's because we get up a lot earlier than you do! Due to my early starts these days, I'm usually in bed by 6pm Eastern Time (11pm UK), so may I suggest a weekend. BTW. There's currently no chat room on HNet (and you need to be a Supreme Superior Commander to add one), so we might just have to start a new thread and post comments there while we watch.

Here's a picture of a Lamborghini that I posted from last year's Cannonball Run. It's orange and Italian, and they've got 01 on the doors, but there's no roof to put a flag on!

I'm not a good singer, Roger. I just enjoy joining in with people who are (nearly all of us are enthusiastic amateurs). As for getting rich, all the proceeds from the concerts are going to a local charity. Besides, fancy cars have their pitfalls. As Joe Walsh sang: "My Maserati does one-eighty-five, I lost my license, now I don't drive". Billy Ray Cyrus did better "Ridin' down Rodeo in my Maserati sports car", but he really wanted to take his horse to the old town road!

Y'all may remember that a year ago I posted about singing with a choir in a cathedral. Well, we're back there again this weekend with a bigger and better choir doing Saturday and Sunday. This time around we upped the ante a little as for after our set we had to learn a couple of lines of Italian to join in with the chorus on 'Nessun Dorma' (it's the first time I've done opera). The show also includes a well-renowned violinist who's very good. One performance down, back again tomorrow night for the second!

Sounds like they're trying cut costs as they've done in F1. Do you think it'll help the smaller teams?

The dates are a bit of a mess. From 'Baa, Baa White Sheep' we know that Boss' date of birth is April 6th, 1926, so there's no way that the flashbacks could be 1932. Also, the cars in the old movie are from the mid- to late-40s. Maybe they just liked the idea of setting the scene earlier (and using the aged film effect) even though sometime around 1950 would've been more realistic.
