  2. Nollaig Shona agus Athbhliain faoi Mhaise Daoibh. ("Merry Christmas and happy New Year" in Irish)
  3. I completely forgot Terry Pratchett. It's been ages since I read a Discworld novel. I liked Mort where Death always speaks in capital letters and has a horse called Binky.
  4. Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  5. set (for such a short word, it has one of the longest dictionary entries)
  6. I don't read a lot of fiction. If I do pick up a book, it's likely to be a biography or a book about WWII. Having said that, I do have a few favorites: Douglas Adams - Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy/Dirk Gently. Ian Fleming - James Bond novels. Alistair MacLean - various action thrillers. Spike Milligan - war diaries, blurring the line between fact and fiction, but very funny. To give you an idea of what they're like, the first in the series in called 'Adolf Hitler: My Part in his Downfall '.
  7. Welcome to HazzardNet Lucas. From your posts I'd say you were a big Tom Wopat fan. Sounds like the UK and Ireland. Countries like Sweden expect snow, but it always comes as a surprise to our governments.
  8. Radio Silence - Thomas Dolby

    One Word Song Titles

(no video with this )Tori Amos did a cover version of this song on her 'Strange Little Girls' album in 2001. The chorus includes the line 'She looks like Eva Marie Saint in "On the Waterfront"'. Apparently she beat Elizabeth Montgomery (Bewitched) to the role. Her portrayal of Edie Doyle won her an Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Here she is with Marlon Brando: Eva Marie Saint also appeared in films like "North by Northwest". I remember her as Maddie's mother in "Moonlighting" in the late '80s. Most recently she played Martha Kent in the 2006 movie "Superman Returns".

Rio - Duran Duran An '80s classic. I never listened to them either, but I remember an episode of Friends where some of them go to a Hootie and the Blowfish concert.
  11. Road to Nowhere - Talking Heads This one does have a video, although, as you'd expect from Talking Heads, it's a bit odd - enjoy.
  12. battery I think you're right - should have put it in the trivia thread .
  13. General Lee (as in ... what was that show called - it was on in the '80s?)
  14. stock (my first thought was Rubik's, but that seemed like a dead end )
  15. This isn't a white trash video, but it is a Christmas video that amused me. Ever wondered what the Christmas story would be like with modern technology?: It must be Christmas - I saw our local cops (or 'gardai' to give them their proper name) selling donuts today (it was for charity).

  17. Right Down The Line - Gerry Rafferty From the man who gave us Baker Street and was part of Stealers Wheel.

  19. I knew y'all would get there eventually - there isn't much about Dukes that you don't know . I'm agreeing with you about General's question as well. The next few questions will be on guest appearances. If you've read some of my other posts, most will be easy enough. Q. Which two of the regular cast members of the Dukes of Hazzard made guest appearances in the TV series MASH?.

  21. Brian's original link now appears to be dead, but going by the description, I'm guessing that it's this: Here's some new ones: Weird Al Yankovic - Christmas At Ground Zero Please note: this song is from 1986, so has nothing to do with 9/11. The video for this version is a simple slide show, but the image used at 0:26 convinced me to use this one over the others .
  22. General, I know the answer to your question, but I'll leave it for someone else. Here's a clue to my question: The eatery is named after a flying insect.
  23. 'Clocks' by Coldplay is so much better without Chris Martin singing over the beautiful instrumental . This is a trailer for the 2nd in the 'Return to Hazzard, Georgia' series that is sold to fund the North American General Lee Fan Club. Travis Bell sells them through his eBay account along with other Dukes stuff. I haven't purchased any of the DVDs, but I did buy a couple of replica license plates from him a couple of years back, and was impressed with the service and the product. I can't find a trailer for the first DVD, but here's a couple of later ones: They also did a Blue Brothers DVD:
