Beep Beep - The Playmates I'm playing the single word repeated rule . This is the original US version about a Cadillac and a Nash Rambler. The UK version was about a limousine and a bubble car (I don't think the BBC would play the song with a brand name in it - this was 1958). Sonny Shroyer does a very funny version of this song about a Cadillac and a Volkswagen. It's so 'Enos', but I can't find a video anywhere. Here's a link to Amazon where you can listen to a short clip of his version.
  3. Long Train Running - The Doobie Brothers Sorry, there seems to be a commercial before this one, but you can click the 'X' in the top right corner of the video to skip it.
  4. Looks like you're the only one playing this one Roger. You're not quite right, but I'd have to give you at least half points, if not three quarters, because the answer is Ira Murchison (1897-1979). I'll have to check out the building, but it's quite possible. Various sets were redressed to make them look different. Q. In 'Treasure of Hazzard', Laura Bardsley was played by an actress who appeared in another episode of Dukes. Which other character did she play?.

I can do girls' names sung by Country legends too .
  6. Warning: this video contains frequent scenes of sax and violins .
  7. How right you are Garrett. I've already had 'Good Times' by Edie Brickell, so here's another song with the same name, this time it's a disco/funk classic . Is this the one you mean?: GE Ecomagination Line Dance Commercial

I thought this thread could do with some psychedelic rock from 1968 . This song reached #1 in the UK and #2 in the US.

This has nothing to do with the Patsy Cline song of the same name . It's hard to believe that this song is 20 years old - how time flies. If you want a recommendation, one of the recent YouTube comments was "i am a beer drinking redneck and this song is baaaad a:censored:".
  13. Bad Time - The Jayhawks I bought this single when it came out in 1995, and never heard of them again. Maybe they're more popular in the US. Wikipedia describes them as an American alternative country and rock band from Minneapolis.
  14. Of course even this isn't safe if you have a Vice President in your hunting party .

  17. I remember that Plymouth Fury/Belvedere owners had a similar complaint when 'Christine' was made. I think the movie highlighted the model, and as a result there are probably more around today than would otherwise be the case. I get a monthly UK magazine called Classic American, and the guy who goes around US junk yards photographing possible restoration projects made the same point this month. It also reminded me of a TV interview I saw with a guy who owned several late '50s Cadillac. He fell on hard times and had to sell them, only to discover later that the buyer had chopped them up to make booths for a themed restaurant .

Looks like the Charger even has the same rims as the General. Nicholas Cage's Texan co-star, Amber Heard, was the guest on Top Gear (UK) this week. She said she did most of her own stunts, and when ask if she got to drive the Charger she replied "I drove the out of that car" (BBC censorship, not mine). In real life, she bucks the Hollywood trend of owning a Toyota Prius and drives a '68 Mustang around LA. The 11 minute clip is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZC48RE4ryI Be warned: it contains Top Gear's usual risqué humor .

  24. Don't worry Roger, the farm's still safe for now . You and waikiki were right about Grady Byrd being night watchman at the gravel pit. You seem to have overtaken me with your viewing. I keep skipping through episodes looking for something or other, but never seem to sit down and watch a complete one. Something will be done about this. Q. In 'Duke of Duke' who did the Dukes try to borrow money from to pay Gaylord's back taxes?. (Hint: this plan failed when they found out he had died.)
