  1. (no video with this :()

Tori Amos did a cover version of this song on her 'Strange Little Girls' album in 2001.

The chorus includes the line 'She looks like Eva Marie Saint in "On the Waterfront"'. Apparently she beat Elizabeth Montgomery (Bewitched) to the role. Her portrayal of Edie Doyle won her an Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Here she is with Marlon Brando:

Eva Marie Saint also appeared in films like "North by Northwest". I remember her as Maddie's mother in "Moonlighting" in the late '80s. Most recently she played Martha Kent in the 2006 movie "Superman Returns".

  2. Rio - Duran Duran

    An '80s classic.

FYI - Darius Rucker use to be in a band called Hootie and the Blowfish...think it was a rock band. Not sure. Never did listen to their music ...

I never listened to them either, but I remember an episode of Friends where some of them go to a Hootie and the Blowfish concert.

  3. I knew y'all would get there eventually - there isn't much about Dukes that you don't know :). I'm agreeing with you about General's question as well.

The next few questions will be on guest appearances. If you've read some of my other posts, most will be easy enough.

    Q. Which two of the regular cast members of the Dukes of Hazzard made guest appearances in the TV series MASH?.

  4. 'Clocks' by Coldplay is so much better without Chris Martin singing over the beautiful instrumental :).

This is a trailer for the 2nd in the 'Return to Hazzard, Georgia' series that is sold to fund the North American General Lee Fan Club. Travis Bell sells them through his eBay account along with other Dukes stuff. I haven't purchased any of the DVDs, but I did buy a couple of replica license plates from him a couple of years back, and was impressed with the service and the product.

I can't find a trailer for the first DVD, but here's a couple of later ones:

They also did a Blue Brothers DVD:

  5. We should do something for New Year's too. Maybe countdown across the globe. LOL. Hoss can start us off, assuming he can make the party. LOL.

Not sure of my plans for New Year yet, but if I'm around I'll be there to start things off (unless someone in an earlier time zone beats me to it). Maybe we can get a chorus of Auld Lang Syne going. Just leave the Clamato at home this time :).

  6. Last night was my first Christmas party on HNet, and it was very enjoyable. I had a good time meeting y'all there, it's just a shame Jimmie had to go home early :(. Maybe he heard Nasty was doing the eggnog this year. MaryAnne, did you get the buttermilk out of your boots OK this morning?.

  7. The parts have arrived, and the painting's done. Here's my restored version of Swamp Molly's pickup. I decided to go for a bright red finish with whitewall tires and a wooden enclosure around the bed. I also took a bit of artistic license by assuming that it originally belonged to Rhuebottom's. These old trucks clean up pretty well :).
