  1. Bullitt Possibly the greatest movie car chase ever.
  2. Judging by my experience of people and alcohol I'd say that as the dwarfs start drinking they'd stop being Bashful and probably become Happy for a while. This won't last as they'll soon become Grumpy and Dopey before turning Sleepy as the evening progresses. If they've overdone the 'shine they may even have to call the Doc in the morning. I tried to get all seven dwarfs in, but even getting in six wasn't Sneezy .
  3. Congrats to BL, and I'm Roger knew it too. "Big" JIM Downey was from Dixville. Apologies to anyone trying to view pictures I've posted over the past couple of days, it was beyond my control. I use photobucket to host them, and it was down for between 24 and 36 hours. It's been back up for about a day now, so hopefully all is well again. I have a confession; Bo and Luke repairing fences with their shirts off never did anything for me . Luckily, as well as Daisy, there were plenty of good looking women guest-starring in Dukes. Q. What links the following four?: Jeannie Wilson ('Mary Kaye's Baby' - Mary Kaye Porter, 'Treasure of Hazzard' - Laura Bardsley), Mary-Margaret Humes ('Mason Dixon's Girls' - Tinker), Shawn Weatherly ('Coy vs. Vance' - Billie Ann), Rhonda Shear ('Cooter's Confession' - Flossie). A) All also guest-starred alongside Lee Majors in 'The Fall Guy'. All represented their state in the Miss USA beauty pageant. C) All appeared in Playboy. D) All made their acting debut in Dukes.
  4. Onto season 2 now, and these first grabs are from 'Gold Fever'. Dan's Auto Supplies has gone, and Victor's Bail Bonds has taken its place in building #6 (it's not too clear here, but I have a better image of this to come later). Also in this picture is a side view of building #7, showing that as well as being a drug store it is also an ice cream parlor and the bus stop. On the front the sign now says 'Drug Store' instead of 'Pharmacy' - there were no clear shots in this episode, so I'll add them later. 'Fanny's Fabrics' in building #12 now has better signage on the windows (looks like the dry goods store didn't last long). I have a close-up to come later. On the other side of the alley, building #13 has now become an unnamed hotel. Just a long shot here showing buildings #13 - #18. The one at the back, behind the white truck, is the one Rosco was spying from in 'Route 7-11'. As previously mentioned, this has now been replaced by a larger building. This is Bo and Luke climbing across the roof of building #3 (the bank). In the upstairs windows is signage for 'Gordon & Lowell' - more attouneys at law. When you know the square's layout it makes you wonder how the boys climb across roofs at one side of the square and somehow jump down onto Cooter's at the other. This happens again in 'The Meeting'.
  5. Welcome to HazzardNet :)

  6. Hopefully the Hazzard Square thread I started should help you out with the town and its buildings. I found another map while watching 'The Meeting' in season 2. The bad guys are plotting the location of the General on a map in the sheriff's office. Just like one of the previous maps that MaryAnne identified, this one had been mirrored. Flipped back the right way it looks like this: I've added the orange boxes to highlight the readable names: Sheridan, Ballston, and ????ville. After some dead ends in New York and Virginia I found Ballston (marked with the 'A' on the map below) and Sheridan close to McMinnville about 40 miles south-west of Portland, Oregon: Here are the 2 maps side by side: If anyone's curious about the car they used for the General it's a '70s Matchbox model of the very rare Monteverdi Hai. The real ones were powered by a 450hp V8 Hemi, and now sell for around $1m. I'm sure Bo and Luke would have had fun driving it (if they'd welded the doors shut).
  7. civil war (yes, I went for that General Lee )
  8. The full guide can be found in this thread, but the key instructions are: "After you login, choose UserCP->Edit Avatar and put the URL to your avatar or upload your avatar." You'll find 'UserCP' on the menu bar at the top of the screen. For new members the avatar options are grayed out until you get through your 'probation' period (I think it's 10 posts, so you should be OK). If the options are still grayed out I'd suggest you send a PM to one of the moderators. Regarding the picture you choose, there are certain restrictions on the size of file you can use (excuse technical bit): the picture should be no bigger than 150 x 150 pixels and have a file size under 19.5kb. To put this in context, most users have an avatar about 100 x 125 pixels, so that's about the size to look for. If you need any more info or help just post your question in this thread or send me a PM.
  9. You're right Roger, and I can only plead laziness. I had 'Jim' in my notes, but went to IMDb to double-check the spelling of 'Downey' and did a cut and paste of the name from the episode summary to save typing it - turns out they had 'John' (although it correctly identifies him as 'Jim' in the cast list) and I didn't pick up on it. Sorry for any confusion.
  10. Insomnia, or just up early?.

  11. No tricks Roger, Lizzy's got the right answer. You can see both of them in the Hazzard Square thread. I'm hoping to start adding pictures from season 2 later this week. Q. In 'Granny Annie', which county is "Big" John Downey from?.

    One Word Song Titles

This is the original 2006 version by the band from Liverpool. Music producer Mark Ronson had a bigger hit with (from the album 'Version') featuring vocals by Amy Winehouse in 2007. Neither version seems to have charted in the US, and the song didn't enter the US charts until 2010 when it was covered by the cast of 'Glee' - I'm sure that version is on YouTube if that's what you're into. What a disappointment Garrett. There I was looking forward to listening to NKOTB and you mix the link up with Restless Heart from 'Musical Chairs'. The NKOTB song can be found .

  16. Hi Hobie, if I remember correctly, you cannot add an avatar until you complete your 'probation' period, which I think ends when you reach 10 posts (so you're over half way ). There are certain restrictions on the size of picture you can use (excuse technical bit): the picture should be no bigger than 150 x 150 pixels and have a file size under 19.5kb. To put this in context, most users have an avatar about 100 x 125 pixels, so that's about the size to look for. Do you have a picture already?. If you have trouble resizing your picture, or want further instructions, feel free to send me a PM (click my name at the top of this post and then click 'Send a private message to HossC', it's easy enough from there). The character from 'Goodbye General Lee' was Hobie Hartkins, but in his condition it could have been anything . Besides, to borrow a line from Monty Python's 'Life of Brian', "You are all individuals" (I never did work out why they made a movie about the life of one of HNet's moderators ).
  17. Roll Away The Stone - Mott The Hoople Some '70s glam rock. bolukeduke may be interested to know that Mott the Hoople were supported on their 1974 US tour by an up-and-coming band called Queen.
  18. These are very impressive. The two-tone Veyron works well in plush. What do you fill them with, because they seem to hold their shape well?.
  19. machine (Scooby Dooby Doo!)
  20. I think everyone was guessing this one (I would have done too ). I'll cut the number of options down next time, I just got carried away. The answer was 'Shell' as shown in the screengrab (next question below): Q. In 'Deputy Dukes' the boys travel to Springville to collect Rocky Marlowe, but how many hardware stores does Springville have (hint: I've posted the answer in another thread in the last week)?.
  21. Welcome to HazzardNet LD. I'm curious about your Dukes project, and look forward to seeing it in the near future. If you need any advice on posting etc. feel free to send me a PM.
  22. It's about time I read another Discworld novel. One of the contestants on last night's TV quiz Mastermind had the Discworld novels as their specialist subject. I'm assuming you're in the US, and wondered whether you ever got to see Hugh 'House' Laurie play the part of Bertie Wooster alongside his old comedy partner Stephen Fry as Jeeves.
