From the album "I Started Out with Nothin and I Still Got Most of It Left". In another thread I suggested this guy as a possible new Uncle Jesse. He already has the beard and his tour bus is an old van with a wood stove in the back. He also has some interesting guitars; one only has one string and another is made of two hubcaps welded together. I would say that it's a shame he doesn't play country, but when he plays blues this good, why complain? . Thanks for this one Mufn. The only Billy Preston track I have is the very funky . I must search out some more.

It's been ages since I've added anything new to this thread, and this is a sign that I've been planning to do for a while. I'll make it a late tribute to stuntman Al Wyatt Jr. Here's Al in a rare on-screen appearance as the unfortunate bakery delivery driver in 'Cletus Falls in Love'.

The 'Bluesmobile' was a 1974 Dodge Monaco, and it was very tatty considering that it was only six years old when the movie was made. http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz19/HossC_2010/Bluesmobile.jpg If you've been following The Patrol Cars In Pictures thread you'll know that a very similar 1975 Dodge Monaco appeared as a Hazzard patrol car at the start of the first season. http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz19/HossC_2010/1975Monaco0101.jpg

Lovestruck - Madness This song was used for last year and I never knew what it was. I've never watched Hannah Montana, so that didn't help .

Roger, I'm not saying you're wrong - just letting you know what it's like here. I think our proximity to the Atlantic helped on this occasion. Some of Eastern Europe, and even places like Italy that are usually warmer than here, had terrible weather. I read a report claiming over 200 people had died across Europe as tempertures plunged to -20C (-4F). Even in Britain they had temperatures down to -16C (3.2F). I guess we got away lightly. Sadly, as I'm writing this the news is reporting that over 30 people have died in tornadoes across the Midwestern US. And we complain about the amount of rain we get!.

Jake, I took a look at your screengrabs and took a few myself. The Capitol City car that appears in 'Big Brothers, Duke' looks exactly like one of Sheriff Little's Chickasaw cars, but without the fangs at the front. The badge on the door is a 7-pointed star with the word "POLICE" in the center and the words "CAPITOL" and "CITY" in a circle. That's all the detail I could see, so there's not enough to reproduce it here. The Capitol City car that appears in 'Happy Birthday, General Lee' has the same color scheme but a different badge. It gets a lot more screentime, and the details are easier to see. You'll recognize the badge as being very similar to the State Police car that I did in this post back on page 1 of this thread. Because the car appears in the flashback sequence it has the beacon style lightbar with a center speaker. Unlike most of the patrol cars in Dukes this one does not have the ring of holes on the hubcaps. I think I got the color a bit closer here than I did with Sheriff Little's car. I might have to go back and subtly change that when no ones looking .

We've had a very mild winter here. We left it very late last year before we turned the heating on. The last couple of weeks have seen temperatures in the high 50s or low 60s. Some parts of the UK had snow in late January, but it didn't last long. We haven't had any here.

Here's a couple of continuity errors I spotted in 'Happy Birthday, General Lee'. The first is the lights on the Capitol City patrol car. When it first chases the black Charger the blue light is above the driver, but a few seconds later, and in every other appearance, the red light is on the driver's side: The second is the black Charger itself. When it's nudged off the road by the Capitol City patrol car it takes a hard knock to the driver's door that leaves a big dent. It comes to rest after a hard impact to the front passenger corner. It also has a very glossy paint finish. When Bo and Luke pick up the car from the scrapyard the driver's door has miraculously been repaired. The front end damage is worse on the driver's side and the car now has a distinctly matt finish that cannot be put down to dust.

CD, you're probably too young to remember a BBC (and later ITV) comedy show called 'The Goodies'. It was very popular when it aired through the '70s and early '80s (according to Wikipedia it was shown on syndication and PBS in the US around the same time), but sadly never gets re-runs. Anyway, the reason I bring them up is that there were three of them and they were famous for riding a trandem. Maybe you can try one of these if the tandem works out ok . Like you, I've never ridden a tandem, but I did ride a quadracycle (aka. quadricycle) in about 1980. They were briefly popular for hourly rental at some British seaside resorts around that time. The one I rode didn't have the kids' seats at the front, but was otherwise very similar to this one: Do you have enough bike parts to make one?.

Welcome to HNet. I'll bet that you're not the only Dukes fan where you live, but it can seem like that sometimes . I know HNet has other members in Texas (and I'm aware how big Texas is). What do you have in your collection?.

I actually did the Hatchapee County logo a while back, but never put it on a patrol car or posted it. I'll have to see if any of the episodes with Capitol City cars show their badges clearly enough to reproduce. The first car below is Sheriff 'Spike' Loomis's patrol car from 'Days of Shine and Roses'. Hatchapee County had at least three patrol cars in that episode, but only Sheriff Loomis's car had the 'shine jugs stenciled on the front fender. I counted 13 jugs including the last one that he added at the start of the episode (that's why the last one is slightly larger and a slightly different color). The car has chrome rocker panels and chrome trim around the wheel arches. It also had the wider side trim with a black stripe down the center and the squarer design of lightbar. You can see a screengrab of the car in The Patrol Cars In Pictures thread. The second picture is a Hatchapee car from 'Twin Trouble'. The badge is the same, but they are now using blue and white cars instead of the original black and white. I don't think that we ever get to see the front of the patrol car in this episode, but I think the tail lights suggest a 1975 Fury whereas Sheriff Loomis's car was a 1977 Monaco.

Alex, you're meant to keep at least one word in the song title the same, not the band. I Say Nothing - Voice of the Beehive I can't believe that it was about 20 years ago that I saw this band. I was sorting through some stuff recently and found a huge poster that I'd bought at the gig.

That's an interesting new project you've got there. I knew a guy who used to build and ride these 25 years ago. At the time I'd never seen anything like them. I got a chance to ride one about 10 years ago. They say you never forget how to ride a bicycle, but you have to learn again on one of these . I understand that cost dictates the use of an old bike as a starting point, but the height of the seat makes it look like it'll have a high center of gravity for this type cycle.

I think I got to about half distance before I had to call it a night - it was just too late for me. How Danica slipped between the other two cars in the early accident I'll never know. I thought Jeff Gordon might have a good race after he briefly led, but then I saw his engine go not long before I had to turn off. I saw a video of JPM's crash this morning - that delay really would have made a late night of it if I'd tried to stay up. I still have to wait until the 18th of March for the first race of the F1 season, and seeing as it's back to its usual starting point of Australia it will be a late night/early morning for me!.

My first car was a 1984 Mk I Ford Orion - basically a European Mk III Ford Escort with a trunk. Unlike the picture below, which shows the top-of-the-range Ghia model, mine was a tatty mid-range version with the grille of an Escort (five horizontal bars instead of three). I think it cost about £300. It gave me my first taste of freedom, but at a price (luckily only financial). The original engine expired, mainly due to the oil and temperature gauges not working. I also had a wheel bearing go at 70mph and didn't know it had gone until I tried to stop and found it had shattered the brakes. It was involved in two accidents while it was parked up, and broken into twice - once to steal my tools from the trunk and once to steal a broken radio. It was sad to see it go, but also a relief. My current car is 12 years old, and the other day I realized something. There are no vanity license plates in Ireland (unlike the US and UK) so all plates start with the last two digits of the year of issue (followed by a letter or two for the county of issue and a sequential number). My car may not be a blue Mustang with flames, but I can say that I drive a Double Zero .

You may be pleased to know that an article in a British newspaper yesterday said that the Girl Guides in the UK are still signing up new members at the rate of one an hour. I don't remember any stories about politicians interfering over there.

Nice pictures Garrett - did you ask John if he's planning a visit to Ireland so I can get to meet him?. Alex, although I found one lyrics site with your version I think you'll find that the last verse is: I'm a good ol' boy You know my mama loved me But she don't understand They keep showin' my hands And not my face on TV

Welcome to HNet stonewall. Like the others I have never seen a '66/'67 Charger in Dukes as the General Lee. I was just thinking how different the show would have been if Dodge had gone with their 1964 concept for the Charger - I think the only feature that survived was the 'Charger' emblem. Imagine if the General had no roof to put a flag on .

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
HossC replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
Sorry for confusing y'all - I've just watched the relevant scene and it was just Daisy who drives Enos to the airport. Enos has a buttermilk with all the Dukes at the farm before they leave, and Daisy drives him in the General instead of Dixie. I think it was because I remembered the General at the airport that I thought Bo and Luke had gone along too.- 3,832 replies

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
HossC replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
For the current trivia question about Enos going to the airport, I thought I remembered Bo, Luke and Daisy in the General with Enos. Just to be different I'll say Bo was driving. Brian, like you I remember the scenes, but can't remember the episodes. I'll have a good hard think about them today .- 3,832 replies

Ironic Hot Wheels find
HossC replied to LittleBigDave's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Collectibles & Memorabilia
It's not done in Photoshop, but I did these a couple of months back in the General Lee Artwork thread in Fan Art (along with some other weird creations): -
Welcome to HNet Hazzarddowner. The font used in the main titles of Dukes is called Hobo - there's a link to a download in this thread. The other logos (the one you reposted and the one with the black background) are both drawn from scratch and therefore not based on a particular typeface. You might find something vaguely similar, but I wouldn't waste your time looking too hard . Most of the other signs I've done here are the same - hand-painted originals that have no font matches.
