Family stories say we have ancestors from County Cork, though I have yet to confirm that through official records. I have confirmed ancestors from Ayrshire in Scotland. Having been born with red hair and green eyes, I assumed I inherited a great deal of the Irish DNA from my dad. Turns out, I'm only 3% Irish and 85% Great Britain/Scotland, with the rest being Iberian Peninsula.

Kid With Whiney Voice ( A Boy's Best Friend?)
Meadowmufn replied to Hobie Hartkins's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Episodes
In several scenes, Danny Cooksey's voice was dubbed by well-known voice artist June Foray, best known for characters such as Rocky (of Rocky and Bullwinkle) and Natasha Fatale. Not sure why, but perhaps the sound quality wasn't great for those scenes and Danny wasn't available for looping. Not one of my favorite episodes. June Foray also dubbed Sport's voice in Twilight Zone's "The Bewitchin' Pool", one of my least favorite episodes of that series as well. I did love her turn as Talky Tina in "Living Doll" episode of Twilight Zone, however. She passed away a few months ago at the age of 99. She would have turned 100 last week (September 18th). -
Doing a paper on the Dukes of Hazzard and i need help
Meadowmufn replied to Bo Duke (01)'s topic in General Discussion
I know this isn't exactly answering the original poster's request, but I thought this perspective added to the current conversation in the news at the moment. I have never wasted my time thinking of all the things around me that I could get offended about, and if I took the time to enumerate them all, I'm sure there are many. It just takes too much energy. I conserve my limited energy for important things, like family and making a living. The past is not something you can change, only something you can learn from. "One cannot and must not try to erase the past merely because it does not fit the present." - Golda Meir George Santayana also had some very sage advice regarding history... "Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." -
Cooter's Last Stand, July 29 and 30, 2017
Meadowmufn replied to Rollman's topic in DukesFest & Other Events
I've met the cast both at events and on the reunion sets. Tom was definitely the least friendly of them all. I hope he gets the help he needs though. Sounds like he's a mess. Wish I could have made it to this event, but my health wasn't cooperating. A big thank you to those of you who went sharing your experiences! -
Unfortunately, it isn't the first time. I hope he gets the help he needs.

ROSCOOOOOOO P. Coltrane. (Though that might've been used earlier. I just found this thread and started from the back. )

I was just listening to this album last week because I'd heard about the 50th anniversary. I love the Beatles. That's a neat coincidence. I'm gonna go listen to that song right after I post this. As for trying a little harder to get Fan of the Month, in my defense, I was probably too sick. LOL. But, don't worry. I get by with a little help from my friends.

Aww shucks. Thanks, Rog. The Fan of the Month was meant for other folks on the site, but I graciously accept. I am working on getting better. I'm still dealing with some pain, inflammation, fatigue and cognitive issues, but starting to feel a little bit better. My doctor has decided this is a bit over her head and referred me to a specialist. Hopefully, I can get in to see her before September (that's how far she's booked out). I have a week of vacation coming up, so hopefully I'll get plenty of rest and relaxation and feel better. Thank you. As if that wasn't enough, I just got new glasses with progressive lenses so I don't have to keep taking my glasses off or readjusting where I hold books to be able to read. Feeling like an old fart lately. LOL.

I'm hoping I will be soon. It's an autoimmune flare-up. I'm trying to get into remission again and having a difficult time.
-
It's fine with me if you start it up again, Rog. I really appreciate you guys keeping this ol' place going. I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. I've been very ill the past six months or so and struggling just to keep up with my job, which is very stressful at the moment. I do come by and check on the place from time to time and I'm happy to see you guys are still here.

Dukes of Hazzard:Game Construction Kit

I would love to see a project like that done, however, you're sure to run into licensing issues with Warner Brothers if they get wind of it.- 4 replies

Hazzard is happening in Virginia!
Meadowmufn replied to Mark B / Scooter Davenport's topic in Dukes of Hazzard News
Thanks for sharing that! So awesome. I hope I can get out there eventually. -
I was kind of bummed Atlanta lost. They had it. I think Atlanta beat themselves and New England took advantage of their mistakes. You can't let up on the Patriots, even if you're ahead by 3 scores. I think Atlanta had a much tougher schedule this season, playing better teams than New England had to face.

Aaron Rodgers has the flu or something. I heard 15 of the Steelers came down with some bug too. I'm really starting to wonder if there isn't some germ warfare going on. LOL. I am REALLY hoping the Steelers beat the Patriots, but with that much of the team sick, doesn't look promising.
-
Well, that's nice of you to say, Rog.

They still have Christmas lights (blue and green, of course) up at Centurylink Stadium and I walk past them every day after work. It gets me a little sad, since it's a reminder that the holidays are over.

I have a soft spot for birds, so I'm hoping the Falcons beat the Packers, even though they beat my 'hawks. Well, mostly we beat ourselves last weekend. Ugh. I don't like the Patriots or the Steelers (sorry, Rog), but I'm hoping the Steelers beat the Patriots this weekend.
