Merry Christmas Skipper. We love you and look forward to that fresh start. ❤ -
Lack Of Female Main Characters

I agree. Sadie Hogg Day was one of my favorite episodes. -
Lack Of Female Main Characters
RogerDuke replied to ralmcg's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
They could try that but even if it had very subtle ties to Dukes nobody would fund it. Hollywood is unforgiving and views the Dukes and Southern culture as evil and toxic. The bias against the South in Hollywood is terrible, despite how they virtue signal and claim to be diverse. -
Lack Of Female Main Characters

I don't believe that. If Daisy would have had a spin off show and was pursuing her singing career in Nashville with a bunch of female friends and few men were on the show, every Dukes fan would have loved it. Except for the fact Daisy was gone. Even then, I can say that I missed Enos being in Hazzard but didn't miss Enos. In fact I saw him even more because he got even more screen time with his own show. But if you are referring to modern times, I know of no Dukes fan who would complain about wokeism....unless the show had a hidden agenda of bashing men and/or Southern culture. Edit: just noticed you said "Hazzard County" and Nashville is not in Hazzard County so my example isn't good. But we could imagine Boss built a recording studio in Hazzard....nicer than the one in Daisy's Song...lol -
John Scheider In Trouble Again

Thanks for posting this Hobie and thanks to Hoss for not taking it down. I would have a lot to say but will obey the rules and keep quiet. There are plenty of political forums out there for this stuff. We're too busy having fun here. -

Thanks Hoss. You always seem to come through. My wife and I were watching a modern Christmas movie and saw someone who looked like her. I can't believe that I couldn't remember that was Lori Comfurt....getting old I guess. I'm going to pull out that ep and show her. Thanks again.

Lack Of Female Main Characters
RogerDuke replied to ralmcg's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
It will never happen. The Dukes are toxic to Hollywood and the entertainment industry is not a forgiving place....unless you are left wing.....sorry, talking about politics violates the terms of service. On the other hand, as I recall, Meadowmufn made an exception when it comes to defending the flag on a certain orange car. Hollywood is no fan of Southern culture because it doesn't fit their narrative. They claim to support diversity but clearly they lie about that. -
I am trying to find an actress's name. I don't think this will be enough of a clue because it is hardly anything, except one line she had....and I'm not sure I even have the line right. But I've been in this situation before and someone always pulls off a miracle. I only need the episode name. I can always look her name up if someone can figure out what ep. There is a line where a lady takes the quote "Necessity is the mother of invention" and alters it a little bit. I can't remember exactly how she alters it but she doesn't say the quote correctly....and that makes it funny. She is probably about Daisy's age and delivers the line with a little Southern drawl. As I recall she plays a little bit of a tougher character. I don't mean like Cousin Alice. But not real feminine like some soft spoken seductresses that have been on the show.

Lack Of Female Main Characters
RogerDuke replied to ralmcg's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
The Smurfs were created in Belgium in 1958. (That's 2 years before John Schneider was even born). Dukes came out in 1979. It seems a bit silly to judge them by 2023 standards. Besides, they are 2 of the most popular shows in history and still have millions of fans worldwide. It's hard to argue with success. -

I love you Cousin Skipper but you are making this way more complicated than it has to be. Simply stop posting on the quotes thread UNLESS you are certain the quotes are accurate. And finally, I am disappointed that you are not using my advice and taking a couple days off from HazzardNet to cool down. I've learned a lot in my lifetime, so please trust me on this one: If something is upsetting you, the best thing you can do is step away for awhile. That isn't always possible....but it is in this situation. You will feel so much better by taking a break. -
I took advantage of the white stuff being on the ground and went for a long walk in the woods....singing Christmas carols for awhile. It sounded pretty bad but my terrible singing voice keeps me safe by scaring the predators away. Looks like we'll still have snow on the ground tomorrow but probably melt after that.

Thanks Boss. You too. We got snow the last couple days but it's sadly going to melt. Looks like a green Christmas for us. It will still be good.....except first year without my daughter so that will be a challenge.
