  1. Welcome to Hazzard County. It's good to have a new person in town and we hope you stay a long time. From what I remember back then, if you were still making payments on your car, the bank required insurance. If you owned your car then you didn't need insurance (these rules varied depending on what state you lived in).....but eventually everybody had to have insurance that was called "no fault" although people jokingly called it "my fault" since it hurt folks with better driving records. The cheapest insurance only covered the other car and person in the accident IF the accident was your fault. Remember though that Waylon often said "We do things different in Hazzard County" so none of that really mattered anyways.....And as people often said, if it weren't for Cooter the show couldn't have happened. It didn't matter how bad the wreck was, Cooter would have all the vehicles fixed up that same day for donuts and beer, with a small amount of cash on the side.
  2. Nice win for the rookie CC. What happened to Chase Elliott?
  3. I sure hope you can get out of there as soon as possible. Hang in there buddy!
  4. I saw the highlights but didnt watch any of the race since we've been busy with grandkids. It will be interesting to hear comments though.

    Days of Thunder

Learn something every day. I'm sure that was in the credits but I never noticed.
  6. If you can make it 20 minutes then you're getting in about 19 minutes more than me. Anymore, I just check out the headlines and that's it. TV news used to be informative and it was once REAL NEWS. Now they're all just a bunch of opinion shows. I do watch all of the local news though. They still do a good job. I haven't been watching anyDOH episodes lately. Our daughter and her family are staying with us for a week. It's been fun.
  7. I'm starting to worry about the best moonshiner on the HazzardNet.
  8. It's really great to hear from you. Your engine is definitely a thing of beauty! Thanks for keeping us updated.

    Days of Thunder

Dish Network was carrying it a couple months ago so I watched it. I don't think I'd seen it since it was in theaters. I'd forgotten how good it was.
  10. Welcome to the HazzardNet. I hope you hang out after you get your answer. It's always nice to get a new member. I bet Hoss or Spike can answer your question.
  11. Breaker 19 for that Hobie feller. How 'bout ya Hobie, ya got yer ears on good buddy? I hope I haven't said anything to make ya mad. Call me on that land line of yers if the CB can't make it past Iron Mountain.
  12. Now that's what I call a good way to start a day! Even now that I'm retired I still never watch Dukes when I first get up. I don't know why. I guess I never even thought about it before.
  13. I've never had a garbage disposal but I will say this: The best thing to do if you've recently had too much drama in your life is to add a little more drama.....the drama of a Dukes episode that is.
  14. I should probably clarify something here so I'm not misunderstood. I am not in favor of tearing down the statue of Chief Seattle or any other indigenous leader who did bad things. What I am saying is that you either forgive people and keep the statues of historical leaders up OR you don't forgive and take them all down. We're supposed to live in a society where everybody is treated equal. Let's treat them equal then. If the men on Mount Rushmore are not worthy of a tribute then no human who has ever sinned should ever be honored.
  15. The world has crossed the line from political correctness into the realm of insanity. I could see if everybody was treated the same but they're not. I looked up Chief Seattle and found out he wiped entire tribes and was a slave owner of anybody who survived. I called my friend who moved to Seattle two months ago and he said Chief Seattle is revered there and his statue will never come down. Imagine that. There are people in this world who hate a historic car, the most recognizable car in history, yet love a slave owner. Insanity.
  16. Great news. The Dukes of Hazzard wouldn't be quite the same if the Duke boys weren't ahead of Rosco kicking dust on him. And NASCAR wouldn't be the same if Chase Elliott wasn't in front of Jimmie Johnson making him smell his exhaust.
  17. Coltrane vs Duke.....season 4 Mr. Crystal of Crystal Mountain Beer wants the Duke farm to build a brewery but Boss has been unable to foreclose on it. When Rosco runs into the mud chasing the Duke boys, Boss has him fake broken bones and whiplash so he can sue them and get the farm. Boss even hires a fake doctor and ambulance. Jesse realizes Rosco is faking so the Dukes start investigating. Boss has to do everything for Rosco to convince him to keep up the scam, including reading him Jack and the Beanstalk....hilarious scene. Boss tries to take Rosco to his fishing cabin but the ambulance hits a bump and Rosco pops out and starts rolling down the hill, saved by the Dukes. Then Boss hides him in the jail, knowing the Dukes won't think of looking there. The Dukes find Mr. Crystal on their property and figure out why Boss wants it so bad. Before the trial the boys run into Chickasaw to get Doc Appleby to prove Rosco is faking but don't make it back on time because he is delivering triplets and Big Ed Little delays them. Judge Potts awards Rosco the Duke farm since Jesse doesn't have the $50,000 settlement. Potts heads to Atlanta to file the papers but the Dukes trick Rosco by pretending Flash got dognapped and get an instamatic picture of Rosco running, proving he's not really hurt. They race off to catch the judge but get sidetracked by Big Ed. All the other vehicles get to the judge first but finally Bo and Luke arrive with the photo, causing the judge to change his mind. -- Emery Potter makes a return. This time as a reluctant deputy. -- Jesse revealed that the farm has been owned by Dukes since 1792.
  18. Diamonds in the Rough....season 4 After seeing something drop from an airplane the boys get it and find that it's a Bugs Bunny doll. When they get shot at Luke jokes that it must be Elmer Fudd and then Bo discovers the doll is stuffed with diamonds. When one of the thieves named Lisa figures out the Dukes have the diamonds she poses as Atlanta reporter Della Dawn who specializes in moonshine stories. She befriends the Dukes and follows Daisy home with her 2 henchmen following her. Jesse called the FBI but Mabel Tillingham was listening in and told Boss about it. When Lisa sat down in the house she saw the bunny and then Boss and Rosco showed up but couldn't stay. While they were there Bo threw the bunny out the window but it landed in Boss's back seat. Lisa didnt know Boss drove off with it and then drew a pistol and signaled for her men who came in with guns too. Rosco found the bunny and gave it to Flash since he didn't know the diamonds were in it. The boys and Lisa find Flash and get the bunny and come back to the farm where Daisy and Jesse were being held by the henchmen. Daisy snuck the diamonds out of the bunny and the robbers took off thinking they had them. A phoney FBI agent, hired by Boss comes to the farm and fools Jesse and takes the diamonds. When the real FBI agents calls on the CB the chase is on and everybody's in on it and in the end, the real FBI agent got the diamonds. The Duke family got a fancy FBI Commendation to hang on their wall. Waylon finished by saying "I tell ya what, living in Hazzard might be complicated but it sure is fun. No wonder nobody wants to leave."
  19. Great article Spike. It's nice to hear there are still people out there who haven't lost their sanity.
  20. Thanks Hoss. I went to 4 of his concerts. The one in my home county is the only one where I didn't get to talk to him. I'll always appreciate that picture of him at the Duke farm you got for me....even though it might have been altered a little. It is still so sweet!
  21. Charlie Daniels passed away this morning of a stroke. He was often called the hardest working man in the entertainment business. He has been my favorite singer for decades and I will miss him. I had the opportunity to speak to him three times and it was awesome. The first time I got my picture taken with him. The next time I got it autographed. The third time we talked about patriotism. Two of his songs "What this World Needs is a Few More Rednecks" and "Simple Man" are amongst my all-time favorites. My favorite Charlie moment was listening to him sing "How Great Thou Art" under a beautiful twilight West Virginia sky. Good bye Charlie. You will be missed. The world has lost a great man. I only wish Rosco would have caught you in a speedtrap. I would have loved to see you in the Boar's Nest but I guess you must have outsmarted him.
