Rolls her eyes thumps his nose with a smirk "watch it boy or I'll have a miraculous recovery and leave you here in prison."

Looks at him grinning impishly "I did, cos I needed to get ready for work, but then I decided *fake cough* to call *fake cough,fake cough* in sick *fake cough, fake cough, fake cough* and come spring you instead."

B.L. snuck upto the other window of the boys room so that she couldn't be seen from the barn where she'd seen Luke working. Supposing that Jesse and Daisy were inside. Looking in she saw Bo tidying up the room but not looking too happy about being stuck inside. Pecking on the window lightly she leant against the side of the house and waited for him to open it.

"Watch the cheek Bo." Luke warned before turning and heading back to the barn to finish the chores. It was going to be a long road ahead, he couldn't totally stop himself from worrying and being over protective and that was already grating on Bo's nerves. With a sigh he picked up the pitchfork and began mucking out Maudine's stall.

Luke sighed and ran a hand across the back of his neck massaging it. He knew there wasn't anything seriously wrong with Bo but the fact he'd left with their friends sitting there still troubled Luke. But trying to do as the others had suggested earlier and not baby Bo so much he nodded. "Fine...... but tidyin' up the room better be all you's do...got it!"

Luke leant in the open window his arms crossed on the window sill chin atop them. All the while the glare never leaving his face as blue eyes met blue eyes one set blazing the other trying to melt ice. "Care to explain what your doin' tidyin' the room when ya s'posed ta be restin'?"

Never seen the Boar's Nest serve martini's and stuff like that but they did serve mint Julips, saw Boss changing the sign raising the prices on them.

Luke turned and looked back toward the house he could clearly see the window to his and Bo's room and he saw movement pass the window. Striding back to the house he went straight to the window leaning against the side of the house peeking in to confirm his suspicions before doing anything. Seeing Bo moving around tidying things up he wrapped on the window a frown on his face. Bo was supposed to be resting not working.

Luke gave Daisy a mock scowl as he straightened his ruffled hair then goes to the barn to start on the chores as Jesse and Daisy go back inside after the tow truck had pulled out of the yard. Jesse busily buzzed around the kitchen making the tea.

Cooter chuckled one last time himself then slapping both knees got to his feet. "Well c'mon girl ya got to get ta work and them chores ain't gonna do themselves." B.L. holds out her hands for Cooter to pull her to her feet, leaning back instead of coming all the way to her feet when he tries making it difficult to do, gins up at him from her seat. Now it was Luke's turn to be amused at Cooter being the one to get trouble from B.L. like Daisy had been giving him just a few minutes ago. Finally after another couple of tries to get B.L. to her feet Cooter bends over wrapping his arms around her lifting her up and over his should grinning as he makes way to the door. "Hey! put me down!" B.L.'s protest falls on deaf ears though as Cooter continues to the door and out onto the porch turning back to the Duke cousins. "We'll see ya'll later." Turning back and bounding down the steps so that it jarred B.L. slightly causing her to grunt in discomfort he wasn't hurting her just making being over his shoulder more uncomfortable. "See... ya... later" B.L. called in hitched breaths as Cooter jarred her again. Luke chuckled raising his hand in farewell to them and calling. "See ya"

B.L. sank down on the couch wiping the tears from her eyes sighing an amused sigh.

Luke shook his head at the two of them when they errupted into peels of laughter again. The two could be impossible when together giggling like school girls. Cooter on the other hand watched them with amusement. Looking up as Jesse came back into the room. "Cooter you and B.L. wanna stay for supper?" Regretfully shaking his head negatively Cooter answered for the both of them. "We can't tanight Uncle Jesse, B.L.'s gotta work and I got some chores ta catch up on. Jesse frowned and pointed a finger at Cooter giving his usual reply when Cooter called him 'Uncle' sending the two girls into peels of giggles again. "I ain't your Uncle Jesse" Then smiling he nodded. "Alright, but ya'll got to come one night for supper ya ain't been in a coon's age"

By the time Daisy was finished B.L. was laughing so hard there were tears streaming down her face. "Yup that's you to a tee Lukas" Luke looked at them scowling doing his best to give both laughing girls a stern look that neither of them were paying any attention to in the least. Maybe he was a little over protective of Daisy and Bo but it was because he didn't want them hurt or in some sort of trouble they couldn't get out of. As for B.L. he felt that it was his duty to protect her the same as Daisy especially when she was staying the night with Daisy and Cooter wasn't there to protect her himself or give her guidance. Cooter chuckled at Daisy's antics before seeing the look Luke was giving him and sobering immediately. "Now you gals ought not ta give Luke such a hard time." He scolded them both to no avail neither one looked contrite.

B.L. giggles nodding agreement with Daisy. "Here,here I worry more about being caught by you than I do about being caught by Cooter." Luke looked at the two of them with a mock scowl and a scoff. "I ain't that bad you two." B.L. grins playfully at him. "Yes you are!" Luke rolls his eyes, hitting her with a cushion from the couch. It always amazed him how his cousins and friends could lighten the mood no matter how bad things seemed. For that he was always greatful and loved them all the more.

Luke smiled and hugged her back kissing her temple. "Thanks Daisy I'll take ya up on that advice, you know us both so well and ya the best 'little sister a guy could have." Jesse called back gruffly "watch the sass girl" B.L.,Cooter and Luke all snickered knowing Jesse wasn't really upset with Daisy. B.L. nudges Cooter's shoulder playfully with a grin "Ya 'bout ready ta go, I got to get to work in a couple of hours." Cooter pushed her back with a cheeky grin nodding "Yup whenever you are."

"Daisy's right" B.L. agreed quietly while Cooter nodded his agreement. Luke sighed and nodded he knew they were right. "Yeah I know."

C'mon I'll fix us some hot chocolate and snacks and we'll have us a Dukeathon!

Just a little bit of christmas nonsense. _____________________________________________________________ Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring except B.L.’s mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care in hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there. Kelly and the new baby were nestled all snug in their beds while visions of candy danced in their heads. Daisy in her kerchief and Cooter in his cap had just settled down for a night cap. When out in the yard there was such a clatter Cooter sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window he flew unlike flash tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow gave the luster of midday to objects below. When what to his wandering Eyes should appear but the General Lee coming near with Bo at the wheel and Luke shifting gears. Uncle Jesse there in the back shouting and yelling Bo slow down before ya have a wreck! Dry leaves did fly as they met with a road block, they mount to the sky with a loud thump they land on the roof. As Cooter drew in his head and was turning around down the chimney Boss Hogg came with a bound. He was dressed in his white all covered in dirt oh what a sight! With the help of Rosco and Enos he filled the kids stockings high with delight. When he was done Enos giggled, while Rosco shushed hush dipstick. They all turned with a jerk, and laying their fingers aside of their nose up the chimney they rose. They climbed back in the General and I heard as they drove out of sight the sounds of Dixie blare through the night.

Luke sighed and nodded Daisy was right she usually was he thought. "I know and I'm tryin' not ta worry guess I'll just hafta try harder. 'Fore Bo gets wound up about and starts yellin' at me to stop it that I'm drivin' him crazy."

Jesse excused himself to let the 'kids' talk while he got started on supper. B.L. and Cooter both shaking their heads at Luke's over protectiveness of Bo and the fact that it was ten times worse when Bo was sick or hurt. Luke just shrugged at them all looking sheepish. "I can't help it ever'time he starts coughing like that it takes his breath away. Sounds awful, worse than any cough I's ever heard before. I'm tryin' not to be a mother hen but it ain't easy." B.L. nodded smiling having sympathy with both points of view but more so with Bo because Cooter did her the same way Luke was doing Bo and it drove her nuts.

"Don't mind at all Bo ya just get well darlin'" B.L. leaned over and kissed the top of his head before Jesse and Luke both stood helping Bo to his feet and then guiding him down the hall to his and Luke's room. Cooter called down the hall to him, grinning. "Take it easy greasy" A few minutes later they both returned to the livingroom Jesse taking a seat in his favorite chair while Luke perched on the couch once again. "He ok?" B.L. asked worriedly "Yeah he's ok just tired like he said is all don't worry he'll be fine. Luke answered and smiled sheepishly as the two Davenports gave him identical raised eyebrow looks that said your tellin' us not to worry and your worried out of your mind.

"no problem" They answered in unison, B.L. giving Luke a questioning look about Bo's apparent shortness of breath still only to get a headshake in reply saying he'd tell her later. B.L. nodded as Cooter gave them an bewildered look not catching onto the meaning of the silent exchange between them.

Cooter readjusted his greasy cap with a grin "workin', somebody in this town's got to" B.L. rolls her eyes at Cooter "Nothin' much workin' double shifts at the Boar's Nest and keepin' Rosco on his toes so he didn't miss ya too bad."

"Aww we'll think of somethin' else Bo doncha worry I'll break ya out" B.L. said giving him a look of sympathy with an impish grin.

B.L. winks grinning it was so good to see Bo so much better than he'd been the last time she'd saw him, not having had a chance to get back to the hospital because she'd been working her shift as well as Daisy's at the Boar's Nest. "I'll have Cooter park the getaway vehicle close to the door" Cooter looked at Jesse and Luke then back at the two schemers shaking his head with a look of mock fear. "Nuh uh I ain't gettin' in the middle of ya'lls scheme Uncle Jesse won't be inclined ta feed me nomore." Luke laughed then smirked at Bo and B.L. "Looks like ya'll are gonna hafta get another accomplice unless ya can win over Cooter's stomach."
