  2. They're not that easy to find and when you do, they're VERY hard to afford because they're antique cars AND because of the place they played on the show! So.....good luck! ( You better have some deep pockets!) Good to see you cousin!

I believe I will, nice to find a hazzard homecoming on the net, grew up on the DVDs, used to watch em with my dad. He's gone now, but the memories live on. I’m hoping someday to build a General Lee replica, I always told him I was gonna.

  5. Howdy Y’all, just thought I’d do a post here and see if anyone here would be able to help me out. I’m basically lookin for advice, I don’t have it yet. But eventually I want to get myself a nice 1969 Dodge Charger, for a General Lee Replica. Now what I’m asking about, is how reliable are they as a daily driver? Like not for winter driving (of course) but during fair seasons. For someone who wants to get into 1969 chargers in particular, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Y’all. Tom Duke

  6. Well howdy to you cousin, still hoping to find one, but if I don’t I can always do a modern tribute. Funny thing, I find the modern challenger bears more resemblance to an old charger than the chargers. Finding a fixer upper 69 even seems hard now, most of the ones I’ve seen are restored projects and would cost more money than the bank of JD Hogg probably has in it. That being said, I’m young and patient. Anything can happen in this life, so who knows!

Dad instilled a love of cars in me. He used to take me to cruisin' 50's night in high school and when I was little we went to the Harrah's Auto Museum in Sparks, NV on vacation. That was a treat. Dad had dementia for his last years, but my brother and I managed to get him to the Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance and the Petersen Automotive Museum a few years ago. We had a blast, made some great memories, and took lots of photos.

It's kind of amusing. Whenever dad would talk about our Irish roots, he'd mention County Cork. Turns out that his ancestors living in County Cork were mostly Scottish. 🤣

  9. I love the "idea" of having a classic car. After seeing what my brother went through in high school with his '63 T-Bird, I enjoy seeing other peoples' classic cars. That's not meant in any way to discourage, just to make it clear it's a pretty big commitment in time, money, blood, sweat, and tears.

I just went through Donegal today. It's a place along the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Probably named after your ancestors home.

  11. Welcome to the HazzardNet Tom. I doubt I can help you with the car advice but Hobie is right about needing deep pockets. 1969 Chargers aren't cheap. The question about being reliable depends on what kind of shape it is in. It would be no different than any other older model. Some out there run perfect and some are junk. It's like that old saying goes "You get what you pay for." Unless you have Cooter Davenport skills and/or unlimited money to pay someone else to do the work you would be better off looking into prices on a 10 year old orange Charger and going from there. Wouldn't be a real genuine General but you could still paint General Lee on the roof, along with the flag and the 01 door numbers. It would be a great tribute car. How long have you been a Dukes fan? Who is your favorite character? We're happy to have you here and hope to hear more from you.

  15. I've never heard of Tom, but I enjoyed that. Thanks. The title reminded me that friends have recommended that I watch the British spy thriller series Slow Horses starring Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas amongst others, but I don't have Apple TV, so far I haven't seen it. I see her full name was Iris Dixie Dean. Over here, "Dixie" Dean was probably the most famous football (soccer) player of the 1920s.
